Dormy Inn Osaka Tanimachi Reviews

I booked this hotel because almost all of my family members wants to have osen (hotspring) hotel. I personally have tattoo so I didn't try it. But I went inside to help my mom and tell her the manner of using osen, so I saw the osen there is really nice. (please notice that all the Dormy inn do not allow people with tattoo get inside) I booked 3 rooms, 2 of them are much more expensive that they have 2 beds and very big room, with bathtub. The other room was a single room cost half price of the twin bed room only. And we booked 4 nights. Almost all of the things are pretty good, expect one thing I could't understand. My sis was staying with her kid and asked for a cleaning services, but they requested 1500 yen to do this service after the 2 night staying. But the single bed room has been cleaning after we back to the hotel. Actually, I'd never uncounted this type of charge before. What if the customer staying for a week? Is that still need charge for cleaning the room? So please be reminded here, if you book this hotel, beware of this point. Staying for more nights might not have room-cleaning services unless you pay for it. But overall, others are quite good.

I stayed at the Dormy Inn in Osaka for just one night, and for only $52, it was an absolute gem! This budget-friendly hotel exceeded all expectations, offering so many thoughtful amenities that it felt like a luxury stay. The highlights included free ramen and ice cream at night—a unique and delightful touch—and the provision of pajamas and slippers for added comfort. The free washer and inexpensive dryer (just 100 yen for 20 minutes) were incredibly convenient, especially for travelers packing light. The public hot bath was another standout feature, providing a relaxing way to unwind after a long day of exploring. The room itself was fantastic. The bed was super comfortable, and the blackout blinds ensured a perfect night’s sleep. I also loved that the bed was accessible from three sides—a rare design in Japan that made the room feel surprisingly spacious. One particularly convenient feature was the self-check-in kiosk, which made the check-in and check-out process quick and easy, especially for international visitors who may not speak Japanese. Additionally, the 11 a.m. checkout time is relatively late for Japan, giving guests a more relaxed start to their day. Location-wise, the hotel is about a 6-minute walk to the subway and a 20-30 minute stroll to Osaka Castle. While there aren’t many activities immediately nearby, the hotel’s convenience and outstanding amenities more than compensate for this. For a budget-friendly option, Dormy Inn checks all the boxes and then some. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Osaka. Truly a perfect stay!

Nice hot spring and delicious ramen! A little far from the Osaka centre but is acceptable. Close to underground stations and surrounded with restaurants! 4/5!

This is my second stay at this hotel. It is absolutely awesome. The price is reasonable for an onsen hotel. It is clean. The location is good, near to Osaka Castle and had wonderful restaurants around the area. The nearest subway station is less than 10 mins away. And Namba and Umeda are both about 3-4 subway stops away. The staff are nice and friendly.

Good location and same wonderful facilities, add-on benefits (ice cream, night ramen etc.) as other dormy inn hotels. It appeared to be crowded sometimes in hot spring and elevator. However, the biggest disappointment of this stay was the service for breakfast. The food is amazing and delicious for sure, but please make sure that you let customer know what exactly the ‘closing time’ means. Is it the closing time for food supply or customers must leave immediately after the closing time even if they haven’t finished their food yet. For other dormy inn hotels or any hotels I have ever lived on this planet, it means the first, but it seems for your hotel, it means the second. I was interrupted multiple times by your staffs and asked to leave during my breakfast without knowing the real meaning of your so called ‘closing time’. Good food but worst breakfast experience ever in a hotel.

Stayed same hotel for many times as love its quiet location and close to metro. Nice 10 mins walk through Osaka Castle to JR as well. Only feeling the onsen a bit crowded and messy while more Group tours stay there too!

We really enjoyed clean nice communal hot spring. Good snack size ramen in the evening. Staff are very friendly. Simple clean rooms. Definitely stay again. 

Nice hotel with free ramen at night and overnight onsen on top floor.

Location is really nice, very comfy to get to the city center, castle, there’s a bunch of shops around. Onsen is big and lovely! They offer free ice cream, probiotics, water, coffee, just ask - a lot of free things are to be discovered :)

The front desk team especially Mr Hamamoto is very helpful with service excellence. Keep up the good work, Dormy Inn.

Place was nice location except not much restaurants around.  The sauna is nice but overly crowded with many people and the users seem to not care about cleaning after and leaving trash around.  Not too far away from the hotel to the Osaka palace.

If the apartment were a bit bigger, it would be fine. Everything else good and comfortable. Free evening ramen, ice cream after onsen, excellent onsen - I like it. I prefer Dormy Inn to other chain hotels (like APA).
