Our hotel at Crisol Vía Castellana was okay but nothing more - to be honest I expected more, especially from a 4 star hotel. To start with the good things: the service is okay, breakfast is very nice and the metro and busses are right infront of the hotel (you still need to take 2 different trains to get to the most famous places though). Depending on the room you have a view above the street which can be enjoyable. You receive some cute chocolates and cosmetics when you arrive in the room. Nevertheless the hotel really needs a renovation! Starting with the lobby that only has some old and dirty sofas placed inside and could be designed in a way more comfortable way. The rooms really disappointed me!! We booked one king size bed and had two single beds. The safe didn´t work. The water in the shower changed from hot to cold very quickly. Most of the doors and shelfs had damages and looked very used. All in all I wouldn´t choose the hotel again unless it´s been renovated.

Although we have been 1 night we have been very comfortable, the very friendly reception girl, the only bad thing is that when calling the customer attention no one answered, we are sure we will return ☺️

Room was nice but I expected much more interesting decor from the ads. Area was very subdued, I think the restaurant was closed, maybe because of off season. Bed was comfortable and room was adequate. Liked the room darkening shades. Front desk help very nice and helpful with transportation questions. Overall harder to get to than I needed.

I stayed there for one night on a business trip with colleagues in October 2022. I cannot fault the decor or the quality of the rooms at all. The closest example of the style of the hotel will be something like the MalMaison Chain. I didn’t eat at the hotel other than breakfast, but we did visit the bar for one drink and it was very nice place to be with numerous waiting staff on hand to serve you at your table. As you would expect in a hotel of this calibre drinks were not cheap and a Coke set me back about the same as a pint of lager would at home. The room had a fabulous bathroom with a jet spa shower, full bath and separate toilet. Unusually for Spain the floor of the bathroom was heated. The bed was very comfortable and there were advanced lighting controls depending on your mood as well as an electric blind. This hotel has a very tall tower which looks out over La Paz but depending on where you are in the hotel, the view will vary quite significantly as the room I was staying in had some kind of architectural panels on the outside which blocked the clear side of the view, and it made taking photos almost impossible, which is a shame given the height of the rooms. Breakfast was extremely good with a very wide range of high quality food to choose from regardless of your tastes. I did not have the time unfortunately to experience the immediate area around the hotel as we were on a tight schedule and had dinner in the city already organised. A word to the wise. If you are using the spa shower in the bathroom, you will find that the door leaks and the floor is covered in water which was not unique to just my room. iIts no big deal and it will dry out very quickly, but you just need to be aware. The only thing that stops me giving this hotel, five stars is that it was very difficult to take any photos of the view from my bedroom due to the panels, but I understand that there are architectural reasons why they are needed.

Airport and train connection with an overnight at this hotel. Put “hotel Madrid Chamartin affiliated by Melia” in google map and it’s easy to find. Arriving from airport terminal 4 take the C1 or the C 10 train (just three stops to Chamartin and cheaper than metro, from platform 1). OR take metro 8 to Ministerio, change to 10 to Chamartin. Hotel is two minutes walk from the Chamartin train station. OK to drop luggage early. And we paid €15 to check in at 9:30 AM. Clean, simple room and friendly staff. The next day we checked out at 12 noon to catch a train.

A very comfy sleep in the centre of Madrid-Good mattress and chair to work This hotel is only one star, but the quality is medium/high. I booked a double bed and a private bathroom; the price is around 100 euros, which I think is expensive, but it may be the usual price in Madrid for one star hotels. The location is convenient for Line 1, the blue line and stop ”Estrecho”; L1 stops at Atocha, the high/speed station. The ride is approximately 30 minutes. The personnel are very kind and helpful. I was able to check in early since I needed to work. The room is small, but the bed has a nice size. It is very clean. However, it is difficult to keep up the highest standards since the floor is white and there were some hairs on the floor. I had a very good sleep; The quality of the mattress is excellent, and people are respectful and quiet, even though there are some common areas for guests who share bedrooms or other amenities. The chair in the bedroom is very comfy to work on. I managed to work for eight hours. All the furniture is of high standards, overall. There is complimentary tea and decaf coffee the whole day round. On the bad side, the breakfast was not great. The quality of the products is not good, for example, bread, jam (low-calories), pastries, or juices, which are not fruit natural juices. There are not too many options. The breakfast should start earlier than 8 am, above all for guests who are on business. I do not think guests should wash their dishes, but rinse them and allocate them in the dishwasher since they are using the same sponge, and after COVID-19, this practice should be avoided for further illnesses. The coffee machine provides coffee but is not of such good quality. It does not come hot enough. The quality of the towels is not good. They are old and do not dry properly. I think it is essential to have recycling bins, in particular, since guests are booking to sleep and they cook and prepare their food. The coffee machine does not allow you to reuse your glass, which is a shame as per providing a new glass with a plastic spoon every time you want a coffee. I tried to press the option ”no glass”, but it will not work. It seems that everything goes in the same bin. The shower has low pressure and two taps. It is not easy to reach quick and warm water. The head is not mobile, so girls bring your shower cap. The quality of the shower gel is nice. Very fashionable!!

I booked this hotel with my son as it is a musically themed hotel and it has exceeded all expectations.On arrival we were greeted by Anthony who was extremely helpful and very informative.There are complimentary instruments you my can book to play or if you wish you can also book a replica vinyl turntable for your room with your choice of vinyl.Lovely pool side area with chilled music in the background.All of the staff here have been very kind and helpful during our stay.Superb hotel. Please Avoid this place. It is cheap but nothing else! I stayed here checked into the receiption which is 24 hours after my working day. The place is near the metro cuatro caminos (a mainly poorer area of Madrid with lots of south american population). The area does have a 24 hour supermarket which was good as the hostal has no food/drink facilities. The room was a very small single bed as I was alone on an education course for my job. The room had a fan and tv and a small table. Once you switch off the light the fan goes off so you cannot sleep with the fan on at night with 39c heat. you cannot leave the window open as its not a safe place. The first moment I checked in, i quickly went outside to get air and get the metro outside. They checked in a drunk african man at 6pm in the evening who was walking up the stairs with a can of beer unable to walk or see anything (their is no lift to the rooms) you need to walk up around 50 stairs to the rooms. They take anyone from the streets if they pay the small charge to stay here. Second day, the two receiptionists or owners were fighting over money from the hotel they were shouting and getting agressive. Its was an uncomfortable situation to see. I left and came back after work for a shower and the room had not been cleaned. They said you didnt put a badge on the door saying clean my room. Couldnt they knock and say something? Very strange way of working? The next day I put the badge clean my room but NO nothing changed. It was an excuse.. Then I went and complained he didnt speak any English and didnt want to know he said the cleaners left and nothing he can do. I pulled off the bedsheets, but the bed protector was badly stained with blood and I also got a skin rash. I left the property 1 day early, it was disgusting. The toilets were not cleaned either and insects were crawling everywhere. This place should be closed down immediately. They dont take security or cleaning seriously, they dont want to know problems only take your money. I explained to Expedia about this place but the hotel denied everything. SHAME!!!

Stayed for 2 weeks at the end of January. I was visiting another company that had an office a 10 minute walk from the hotel so very convenient. Food the in on site restaurant was of a good quality and there is plenty of restaurants nearby if you want to change it up a bit. Good breakfast in the morning with plenty of choice. Room and overall hotel was clean and staff were polite and looked after me during my stay. The football stadium is a short walk away and you can hop on the metro to visit the more touristy centre of madrid if you need. The station is right outside. The airport is only a 15 minute drive away. Will stay here again.
