Eurostars Madrid Mirasierra presents itself as a five-star hotel. It does not meet that standard.
The building is large, which is a positive. However, the property appears not to have been renovated in at least 20 years, possibly longer. The rooms feel dated and poorly maintained. Paintwork is sloppy, with visible paint on light switches and fixtures. Surfaces look worn, and in some areas, not particularly clean. For a hotel charging five-star rates, the overall condition is substandard.
We booked what was described as a mini suite with a king-size bed and a single bed. In practice, the “single bed” was a sofa bed, and this was not clearly disclosed when booking via Trip.com. That distinction is material when travelling as a family.
The air conditioning did not function. Regardless of the season, a room temperature of 25 °C is uncomfortable. We had to open the windows to cool the room, which should not be necessary in a hotel of this category.
Amenities are basic and visibly worn. Nothing feels premium. Service is reactive rather than attentive. At one point, the bar was unstaffed. In general, assistance had to be requested rather than offered.
The location is also a drawback. There are no restaurants or amenities within easy walking distance. The hotel restaurant is expensive — around €40 for a meat dish — which feels excessive given the quality and limited alternatives nearby. A taxi ride of 10–15 minutes will take you to far better dining options, but that adds time and cost.
At approximately €250 per night, the hotel represents poor value. For comparison, Barceló Imagine, not far away, is roughly 20% cheaper and significantly more modern and well maintained.
Overall, Eurostars Madrid Mirasierra feels dated, overpriced, and misaligned with its five-star positioning. I would not return.
