It is about a 2-minute walk from the south exit of Matsunaga Station, about 20 meters west of the "Matsunaga Station South Exit" intersection on the road that runs south. From the outside, it looks more like an old apartment building than a hotel, but it is safe to assume that it is a well-established business hotel in the countryside. Parking is 500 yen per day. The front lobby is spacious, with a large wall-mounted TV and paintings, and a large sofa. There is also a dining room on the first floor where you can have a simple breakfast for 500 yen. It is nice that there is a free Georgia coffee server for guests. The power to the entrance and the front desk on the first floor is turned off from midnight to 5:00 the next day, and the entrance must be opened manually. It is recommended that you return by 8:00 p.m. if possible. You can use the call bell to respond to the front desk staff 24 hours a day. The front desk staff are neither good nor bad, and there is nothing particularly impressive about them. Amenities such as razors, shampoo, and toothbrushes are sold at the front desk on the first floor. Towels are also available for rental. The rooms are located on the 3rd to 5th floors in an old-fashioned elevator that looks like it might break down at any moment. The stairs can only be used in emergencies. The keys are the old-fashioned type that you insert directly into the knob, and are not auto-locking. There are vending machines and an Aqua Clara water server on each floor. There is also a coin laundry on the 3rd floor that costs 200 yen per use, and a dryer that costs 100 yen for 30 minutes. There seem to be many long-term guests staying for more than a week. In particular, it seems to be a training facility for the nearby Royal Driving School Fukuyama Branch. The single room is about 20m2 in size and is equipped with a semi-double bed, a desk, a small refrigerator, and an air purifier. The room is spacious enough to be comfortable and spacious. Only the carpet has been neatly replaced, so it feels clean, but the room smells old. There is air freshener, but it doesn't seem to be very effective. The unit bath is small and moldy in places, so it is undeniable that it is old. The hotel is equipped with an old-style washlet. There is a sufficient amount of hot water, but the temperature of the hot water is not stable and needs to be adjusted to be hotter or colder. It is about the same price as a new hotel these days, but the only advantage is the size of the room. It is not comfortable, but you will definitely be able to spend your time without inconvenience. There are city hall branches, libraries, and post offices nearby, as well as many convenience stores and izakayas, so I think the location is very convenient. It may be a good base for sightseeing, with Fukuyama to the east and Onomichi to the west.
