"This guesthouse was highly recommended by some friends, and they were right! We arrived on the train from Kandy in the afternoon, and even though we had not informed the owner of this, he was waiting at the train station to pick us up. It was a short drive to the Guesthouse, where we met his wife and daughter, were given tea and made arrangements for a trip the following morning to Lipton's Peak (to watch the sunrise - early start but awesome!) We explained that we are vegan, but this was not a problem, and the lady of the house made us the most amazing dinner, with several curries, rice, drink and dessert. There was a small additional charge for dinner - and I mean small, especially given the quantity and quality of the meal. Delicious! Our room was very nice and clean with a comfortable bed and a nice balcony, where we sat outside and just listened to the night-time nature sounds of Haputale. We also had a private bathroom with lovely shower (bring your own toiletries). We were only staying overnight, to visit Lipton's Seat, after which we had the most AMAZING breakfast (my first time trying coconut sambal, soooo good!) The owner had then arranged for the same driver to take us to Udawalawa, which is 3 hours away, for a reasonable price. If you are visiting Haputale, I highly recommend this guesthouse - lovely family, comfortable accommodation and fantastic food. Thanks"
