Kimpton Aysla Mallorca, an IHG Hotel

Calvia|6.25km from downtown
We simply cannot say enough good things about this Kimpton property. From the staff to the accommodations, the food & beverage options to the landscaping & spa, everything was fantastic. A last minute choice, we are so glad we made the trip and hope to return soon! First Impression: From the moment we were brought to the front of the property, we knew we had made a good choice. The property, its parking lot, edifice, & landscaping, was in immaculately kept condition. The entrance is humble with only some orange trees, shrubbery, vines, and some small understated branding. Getting There from the airport: This hotel is located in an isolated, quiet residential neighborhood, nearly a half of an hour from the more active city of Palma, & it offers a wonderful serenity. Coming in the off tourist season as we did made it even quieter. For those who might wish to explore the island, beyond the resort, parking for the rental car you will want is inexpensive overnight. Staff Experience: 5/5. Excellent. The staff was truly wonderful, and we couldn’t have asked for better hosts. All guest-facing employees we met were stellar. The team’s collective vibe really felt just right. Fancy enough, informal enough, real. Alina made us feel genuinely welcome. We loved seeing the enthusiasm Aitara showed for the brand. Miguel, history scholar, was very social & made us feel quite comfortable. Laura, the front office manager, was very kind, as she aided us with modifying our airport transportation and check out. Special thanks to Carolina S., who not only answered our usual guest questions but also took time to show some room types & explain a great deal about the property. Our stay would truly not have been the same without her. We thank all these any others who may have contributed to making our experience what it was. We felt the #kimptonlove Accommodations: 5/5. Excellent. We were assigned a “King Premium” room type, (1304), and we were very happy. Our IHG Preferences of a room on a high floor that is away from the elevator were accommodated. We slept in a King bed, watched television from the sofa (where a third person could reasonably sleep), and snacked on an amenity at the small dinette table provided in the room. It had a balcony for lounging with a nice view and the fully stocked minibar offered many drink options. The bathroom included a rain shower w/ separate tub & direct bathroom access to the balcony. Design elements were chosen from the locality and create a stylish & modern, yet relaxed feel. Other accommodation options were available. We learned to book the Presidential Suite if one would like the private hot tub on your balcony and your own olive tree for martinis. Essential or classic rooms are perfect for the restaurant, bar, pool, gym, or spa-dweller, but the view may not be optimal from your room. Families may prefer a couple of essential rooms, since some of those do have connecting doors. If hammocks are your thing, corner rooms with pri

Sol Katmandu Park & Resort

Calvia|6.64km from downtown
Cons: - the room was tiny, definately not 20m2, we actually ended up storing out empty suitcases on the balcony, otherwise you couldn't move. - we got a room on the 6th floor with a balcony. The door to the balcony did not lock, not exactly safe or child friendly. - one wardrobe door was missing. The one that was still there would not slide unless if lifted a bit, but that nearly came off on top of me ( solid wood with full lenght mirror) - no drinking water in the room or on the premises after midnight. We arrived there close to midnight and we had to go looking for a shop to get water. - pool area overcrowded. We walked to the beach for most of our stay. Unless you were there reserving a seat 1st thing in the morning, you wouldn't get one. I read reviews that they were removing towels that were left unattended, well not during my stay. I know it was peak season, but this was something else. - big queues to most activities, you have to wait at least 3 or 4 times until you got it. I'm sorry, but queing for longer than the activity went on for is not really how i want to spend my holiday. Please bare in mind that this is a place were they sell daily passes too. We went to the splash park one day and there was some sort of school trip organised there so off we went to the beach again. - rooms are not sound proofed at all. There was a few families that were sitting in the bar each night till midnight, then they'd be coming up running, roaring and slamming doors, chase eachother on the corridor. I know you can't educate your clients, but I should be able to have a pieceful sleep. - drinks at the bar were pure muck. Some premade cocktails, way too sweet and some cheap beer. There's actually no point going all inclusive. - not enough chairs to attent evening entertainment. You couldn't stand as you were blocking other people's view. Pros: - the place did look nice through my daughter's eyes and she did enjoy her time there. - food was nothing amazing, but ok. Very little choice for a young child. She ate just pasta and fish fingers for 2 weeks while there. But I haven't had any raw food issues as i seen in some reviews here. The place was quite dated, definately not a 4* and totally overpriced. Would i go back? Definately not!

Universal Hotel Lido Park & Spa

Universal Hotel Lido Park & Spa

Calvia|5.15km from downtown
Wir waren dieses Jahr zum 2. Mal dort.

Unic - Turisme d'Interior

Andratx|3.94km from CR7 Es Galatzo - S'Esclop Trail
We booked a 7 night stay with Unic and left on the 5th night at 3am to find another hotel as the ongoing disturbances in the common areas of the hotel left us unable to sleep and feeling rather unsafe. On first glance Unic was great, clean and modern, but unfortunately this first impression didn't last long as we quickly realised 1. there was no staff in the building, which isn't mentioned on booking.com and 2. there is no noise insulation so you really hear everything. The first few nights were bearable, a lot of wake ups in the night due to noise from other guests (not at the fault of the guests, just the building) but nothing we couldn't tolerate. Unfortunately, on the 5th night of our stay, there was a lot of noise in the hallway between two men, initially it sounded fine but after two hours between 1am-3am, the noise became questionable, with furniture moving and pacing up and down stairs, we started to question if this was a guest or a member of the public. As there is no staff in the building at all, we contacted the number that was given to us over text to hopefully resolve the issue of the people in the hallway and to bring to attention the fact we felt unsafe. An hour passed and still no reply so I called the number and it went straight to voicemail. At this point we didn't want to stay in the building as it didn't feel safe or comfortable to do so and we definitely couldn't sleep with the ongoing commotion. We left in our car at 3am and checked in at another hotel which was extremely expensive as so last minute and hoped to hear from Unic when we woke up after some much needed sleep. In the morning we received a text from Unic asking us what happened and when we replied they read the message but gave no response. A day passed so we text again just asking for a response yet still nothing. We have now returned from our trip and still yet to hear from them, not even an apology or acknowledgement of the situation. Completely understand the old building is not their fault or the possible noisy guests, but a person to contact when staying is very important if you don't have staff. It's sad as we initially liked the hotel but unfortunately we would not recommend this place as care and attention to paying guests is the bare minimum. We spent a lot of money trying to find alternative accommodation and we still haven't even received a reply.

Palmanova|0.3km from Platja de na Nadala
a wonderful place this is, there is a reason for score of 5 on TA and not too many places earn that but these apartments certainly do. From first arrival to checking out the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, queries were dealt with speedily and efficiently, big thanks to Daniel, Almudena and Luciano on reception all of them were charming and welcoming and to also Javier who promptly fixed a trivial issue at 8.00pm on a Saturday evening The studio we stayed in was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom and the complex as a whole congrats to all the cleaning staff. This is a small complex with 90 units and that lends a very low key vibe which was very relaxing, one great thing was the system of paying €10 deposit for each pool towel and a charge of €2 if a towel was being changed, sounds off putting but works great as people are reluctant to leave their €20 worth of towels lying on empty sun beds so no sunbed hogging goes on! The towel cleaning charge is another great idea as I have seen people at other hotels etc. changing towels willy-nilly just because they can do. There is a drinks and snack service which are reasonably priced and no entertainment is laid on around the pool or at night in the Lounge. Overall a big recommendation for here and if we are in Palmanova again this will be our choice of accommodation for sure, it enjoys a terrific location just metres from the beach and many bars and restaurants as well as the local bus services.

Portals Hills Boutique Hotel

Our selection was influenced by taking a subjective look at online customer reviews in parallel with the hotels own self marketing. We assumed from our research that a 5 star vacation would be presented, being that's what we paid a premium for, however unfortunately the Hotel failed to deliver the 5 star standards they marketed on this occasion. The hotel is situated within a quaint residential area located on the hillside presenting a 5 minute downhill walk to local bars and restaurants, albeit a further 15 minute downhill walk will take you to the popular marina area. The Hotel overall is well presented, relatively modern and clean. The foh, house keeping and waiting staff are attentive and friendly. There is a modern restaurant with stunning sea views that hosts a decent breakfast every morning, albeit its not open most nights and so expectations of embracing 5 star cuisine at this venue needs re-evaluated as you can eat better and for less elsewhere which isn't what we expected/wanted! The pool and lounge area is an adequate size for a boutique hotel, albeit the layout and attempted vibe might not meet the overall client/family balance you'd want but that's subjective of course. Whilst the hotel offers a varied range of suites and rooms, I can only comment on our own individual room experience - this was a deluxe suite. In simple summary, the room was well equipped, bright and spacious however the furniture and seating was tired/damaged and our bathroom had a significant damp issue which resulted in daily deep cleans and paint overs - the fragrant smell of sun lotion was surpassed with bleach and paint daily, but we got to know the maintenance man. Incidentally, an alternative room was offered on the 6th day of a 7 day vacation which was not acceptable, and latterly followed by a deferred 1 night free stay being offered as compensation, albeit we'd have to pay a premium to fly back and stay longer - Go figure! Whilst we where disappointed, we still embraced our holiday and so without contradiction - this is a lovely Hotel. Whilst on this occasion unfortunately the experience did not deliver on what was marketed and sold as 5 star, maybe we where the exception to the rule. That being said and as much as we where accommodating and understanding with the hotels circumstances, we should not have had to invest so highly when the hotel acknowledged their failures and misgivings. A failure to simply deliver expectations is primary, or make good, especially when its acknowledged you've not met the standards you market at 5 stars. Unfortunately in-action didn't match the ambition and so hopefully there are no more exceptions to the standards you claim.

We used this hotel as a base for exploring the west coast of Mallorca on our motorbike. We had a good size room overlooking the pool with a comfortable bed and a nice sized bathroom. They even suggested parking our bike in the garage, which was nice. We stayed half board and found the food choice to be good for both breakfast and dinner, even providing an early breakfast on the day we left. All the staff were very friendly and helpful
Leonardo Royal Hotel Mallorca Palmanova Bay

Stayed for 6 days in an apartment type room with 2 and 5 year old children. I would like to visit again. good 1. It is true that there is a slope from the sea to the hotel, but it is a distance that even a 2-year-old child can walk. 5 minutes walk. 2. Stayed in room 776. The room was an apartment type with a kitchen and it was easy to live. The equipment is basically complete. If you tell the receptionist, they will give you a detergent and a sponge. Beach towels are rented with a deposit of 10 euros per sheet. If you want to change it, they will respond quickly. The deposit will be returned on the last day. No seasoning. 3. Dinner is a buffet with many items. 2 year olds are free and it was about 30 euros for 2 people. I felt that cospa was good. 4. A convenience store-like supermarket is next to it, 3 seconds on foot. 5. ALDI, a regular supermarket, is about 15 minutes away on foot. There are slopes and it was difficult for a 2-year-old to walk, but no problem for adults. 6. Marineland? 10 minutes by taxi to the small aquarium. If there are many people, it is more profitable than the local bus. It's a small aquarium, but there were dolphin and bird shows, and the children really enjoyed themselves. 7. I took a tour of the Palma Aquarium at the reception. This includes bus and ticket. This bus goes directly to the aquarium without going to a souvenir shop. The stay was long enough. 8. There were activities such as a children's dance program, and the children enjoyed themselves. 9. The nearby sea has a long beach and a little rocky area, so if you get tired of the beach, you can look for crabs and shellfish on the rocky area and have fun with your children. The beach in front of the hotel is long, and it was very nice to cycle on a rental bike that can hold 4 people. Rental bikes can be rented at the shop in front of the beach. bad 1. All cash payments in the hotel. There is an ATM inside the hotel, but it is a little inconvenient. It also charges a fee. 2. Depending on your tastes, I thought the breakfast was not worth the 22 euros. After all, my child ate bread, yogurt, and cereals, so I bought them at the supermarket next door and ate them in my room. 3. The airport shuttle bus often stayed at the hotel, but the receptionist would not tell me. The hotel can only call a taxi, and the bus should be checked and booked by yourself. I wanted to know at least the company name, but they didn't tell me. You must have seen the same bus company name hundreds of times (even I saw the same bus about 5 times. You should write down the name when you see the bus). The local bus to the airport is cheap, but the bus stop is ALDI direction. If you are an adult, you can walk with a suitcase, but if you have children, it will be difficult. A taxi to the airport is around €45 each way. 4. Affiliated tours are the worst. We booked a boat tour inside the cave. At 9:00, the time spent in the cave is only 1 hour and 20 minutes. After going around souvenir shops → jewelry shops, we finally arrive at the cave. Lost time is more than 1 hour. So 69 euros for 3 people is too expensive and I don't recommend it. The child is bored and bored. There are many tourists in the cave, and there is a long line to enter. This 1 hour and 20 minutes includes everything, so I was only in the cave for about 40 minutes. The boat that can be boarded inside the cave takes 2 minutes, but the waiting time is over 30 minutes, so it is physically impossible to get on in time for the tour bus meeting time. We recommend renting a car. This is the only bad thing this time.

Recently stayed for 4 nights as a short break for me and my mum. All of the staff we encountered were lovely. The room itself was basic which we expected, but clean and the kitchen space had decent facilities. We knew in advance that there were a lot of steps but we underestimated how difficult this would be with a heavy case! We were in a top floor apartment and we had a number of pigeons that liked to spend time on the balcony and make a mess of our clothes, so don't leave things out to dry for too long! Unfortunately we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel in the end due to the fact that there were a lot of large groups staying there. They made a lot of noise late into the night (doors slamming, shouting, furniture being moved etc.) so we didn't get a lot of sleep. We considered asking for a room move but we thought it wouldn't make a difference because there were so many groups scattered around the hotel. It also meant we didn't use the pool because it was taken over by the groups playing ball games in the shallow end of the pool. We didn't see many families with children having the opportunity to use the pool either. What we saw of the evening entertainment was good but poorly attended as most of the groups of guests were going out for the night. Overall, the hotel itself is clean and in a good location, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing break with the family.
Kimpton Aysla Mallorca, an IHG Hotel
