Very nice hotel big room and bathroom with swimming pool next to rice field. Overall a very good experience

Good overall

The location was in a very good location

I stayed here for three days at the end of March. I will definitely return to this hotel, the main thing is to guess the time when the rice field is in bloom :) Cool large well-groomed flowering area, two large swimming pools, national authentic style of buildings, incredible rice field! Ordinary but tasty breakfasts. Located in the most active place, a minute's walk and you are in the thick of restaurants and shops. Of the minuses: terrible old scary bath. And a fairly dark room. I think that we need to choose a more expensive room, and I think it will have a newer bathroom

The most important reason for choosing this hotel is the location advantage, and it is cheap. When you go out and cross the path, there is a monkey forest on the left and the Grand Palace on the right. There are many restaurants and convenience stores around. You can also encounter monkeys running to play by the swimming pool. There are also two mynah birds that can talk and make magical laughter. It is very fun. There are two swimming pools and not many people. Breakfast is not a buffet. There are several sets to choose from. Although it is simple, it is no problem to eat enough. There are rice fields in front of each room. It is an Indonesian-style building. Although the foundation is there, I don’t know if it is due to the epidemic. Many hardware facilities need maintenance, such as the mosquito net with a big hole, the toilet basin has no hot water pipe, only the shower has hot water. Fortunately, the weather is very hot and it has little impact. In short, it’s okay.

No matter how many times I stay here, the breakfast menu is always the same, so I get bored of it. It would be more fun if there was something a little different looking.

Perfect location, great non-view pool, friendly staff. However, it is a pity that the rooms are very old. If you are looking for a cost-effective resort in Ubud, this is an excellent choice, but you should take the interior of the room into some consideration. I think that if only the rooms are renovated, it will become a top resort in Ubud.

Family of 10 spread out in various rooms. Travelled during rainy season too. Absolutely amazing place to stay. It gives you the REAL bali culture and feeling. Staff are kind and patient, the grounds are immaculate, and the whole vibe and energy gives you a sense of peace. Location is great, walking distance to both shops, restaurants, monkey forest, palace, and ubud art markets. Rooms are all spacious and clean, not modern but its fine with us. Breakfast always delicious (we miss the pineapple and papaya jam 😍) Only downside would be the club next door. My room was on top of the first building and the club was loud till 2am maybe (earplugs would probably help) Everyone else said their rooms were fine though, even the room under us didn't hear club noise. So maybe just avoid the first buildings top floor (Can't remember room number. Went to Sanur then Kuta after staying here and all the family had the same thing to say.. "we should've just stayed in Ubud at Cendana". Absolutely lovely place. 5 stars from us.

I recently stayed at this beautiful hotel in Ubud, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The location is perfect—just a short walk from an array of shops, cafes, and restaurants, making it easy to explore the vibrant local area. The hotel’s design is absolutely stunning. There are two gorgeous pools, and the gardens are dotted with statues that create a serene, almost magical atmosphere. The room was spacious, well-designed, and impeccably clean. Breakfast was also a highlight, with three options available. I tried the Indonesian breakfast, which was delicious and full of flavor. The restaurant was just beside one of the pools and had views to the rice fields—a perfect way to start the day. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always greeting me with a warm smile. They went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful stay. I definitely would recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Ubud; it truly exceeded all my expectations.

I really loved this place. At first I was worried as we needed to have two rooms for our family which meant we would be separated. I had requested rooms together but they hadn't sorted this for us until I requested again on check. They found two rooms side by side, separated by a little courtyard, we were over looking their gorgeous back pool and the rice paddy fields. We had a lovely fish pond right outside our room and only a few steps to the pool. The net curtains were long enough to keep the mosquitos out so you could keep your door open should you wish. Our door was a bit finicky to lock so that could do with some maintenance. The bathroom was huge! The location was so central - 15 minute walk to monkey forest and about 15 minutes to the markets. Lots and lots of great places to eat nearby and little supermarkets. The hotel organised a driver for us so we could get out and see some sights. I would definitely stay here again - good value for money.

We are completing a 4 day stay at Cendana and have found it to be the most beautiful, relaxing experience. The staff have been responsive and helpful from our first communication to our return to Sanur. Don't expect a western style resort more modern Balinese with beautifully manicured gardens. A quiet secluded oasis in the heart of Ubud.

we got off to a slow start with this hotel, due to external noise on our first night. The situation was speedily remedied the next day, when our room was changed. From then, our stay was lovely. Very comfortable room and bathroom. We used the laundry service, which was excellent. Breakfast was cooked to order and delivered to the table, a welcome change from the ubiquitous buffets. Lovely gardens and surroundings, really peaceful and a break from the bustle of the town itself. We booked a driver for a private tour, through the hotel - he was excellent too. All the staff were friendly and courteous and obviously wanted our stay to be happy. Tip - request a room near the restaurant area and consider an upgrade.
