The apartment was quite troublesome in terms of check-in procedures as you require to go to the agency to collect key and then walk to the apartment as it is located in another building. The amenities are good as there are many kitchen appliances provided, including microwave oven and oven. However the beds are super hard and difficult to sleep in, and only 1 toilet (junior master bedroom) has the heater working but not the other 2 (living room and master bedroom). Hope they are able to rectify these to provide more comfort for the customer to enjoy their stay better.

Detailed instructions given by the management of the apartment (home stay) on the check in and check out process providing a seamless access to the apartment unit. The apartment unit is clean and has many facilities such as swimming pools, squash court, table tennis, children playground, etc. Food wise, just below the apartment is the R&F mall where you can find food and beverage stalls and shops. Walking distance to city square. So you can find lot of good food in this area.

The stay at R&F was generally good but there were some down sides: - the R&F mall is practically empty - this particular apartment was a bit run down and a bit dirty. - one of the benches has a tear in it - electric switches for the fans in home can be a bit confusing to use. - one of dining chairs feels flimsy and about to break. - dining options are not that cheap or worth the money Good sides: - air con was decent - has cooking stove and electric equipment - washing machine - decent balcony and comfy furniture - Jaya grocer is near

First time staying. To my surprise, there's no power socket by/near the bed, which can be a bit inconvenient, had to unplug other location to use it. There was a power trip in the whole building, I was trapped in the lift, horrific experience. Took about 20mins for the power to return and to stabilise, after the incident certain floors, there was no WiFi coverage and TV signal. No explaination or apology/compensation was given when we approached the staff.

Fives Hotel Meldrum is a newly opened property in October 2023. It is 850m by walk from Johor Bahru Customs. To get to the hotel, you would need to use the link bridge near the customs that leads to R&F Mall. Just before reaching the mall, head down from the bridge and walk towards the direction of Grand Blue Wave Hotel (GBW). The property is located beside the back of GBW. A 24hrs security personnel is stationed at the main entrance of the hotel. Upon my arrival, the Front Desk Staff had requested a RM200 deposit for my check in registration. The rooms are situated from the first to ten floors. There is no fourth level in this building. I was accommodated in a Standard Queen Room (No. 311). Although the room offers a window, it faces the wall of a building. There is an ongoing construction site located beside the hotel, which I perceived to last for another year or more. Unfortunately, the construction noise is audible which only ended at 10pm during my weekday stay. I later approached the Night Manager and paid a RM40 upgrade to stay in a Standard King Room with no window (No. 308). There is no noise as this room is located in the middle section of the building. Local, Singapore TV and Malaysian radio station channels are available for entertainment in the room. The SMART TV also offers Netflix and YouTube. There are two USB charging ports and three power sockets for your mobile device charging needs. The air-conditioner functions well and keeps the room cool. Shower gel, shampoo with conditioner, toothbrush and paste are provided. The shower head is fixed to the bathroom wall. I found the water pressure to be acceptable, but the temperature is lukewarm. A-lar carte breakfast is offered at RM25 per person, though I did not consume my breakfast at the property. Nearby the hotel, there are several coffeeshops located behind a public carpark that serve breakfast. Among them is Restoran Ah Bee Bak Kut Teh (Pork Ribs Soup) which is a popular eatery among the locals. There are also convenience stores and halal eateries located within walking distance from the hotel. Connoisseur Food Generation, a trendy food court is situated a 5-min walk from the hotel. This place has many food stalls that offer a wide variety of cuisine. There is also live band during my dining there. Whilst the location may not be perfect, Fives Hotel Meldrum is great for those who are seeking something new and an affordable stay in Johor Bahru.

Second time staying with Anju management, fast response and also happy with the room it's as advertised, be sure to choose sea view if U want sea view but do note it faces direct EAST U will get the morning sun. If U don't like sun please don't choose sea view. Be careful where U park if U drive only on empty lots with no car plate number I got wheel clamped before cos I was tired and blur after a jam.

Stayed one night there, room was very stuffy and poor lighting. Pillows smell weird. Requested for a queen bed during booking which they have options to choose from, but ended up giving 2 single beds. Shampoo was not provided, only provided one tub of body shower expected to use on hair as well. Otherwise it's near to JBCC, good to catch the early trains to Sg.

Firstly we are not required to pay any deposit and that ease the process of checking. We got city view hotel and the bed was super big and comfy. Many pillows as well for u to snuggle. But the toilet bowel bidet only have cold water. For the shower room its separated wt windown glass frm toilet bowl. The bathtub is slightly old and not painted. It could be improved. The room have no Aircond Remote so you had to shiver all night long and even when i switch off i feel damn cold. Breakfast was ok more to malaysian style. The porridge did not taste so good. But nasi lemak chicken rendang and other items taste good. Plenty of fruits and drinks for u choose as well. Bathtub has both hot and cold water pipe. Just a one day relaxing stay and we liked it. Toiletries are all provided. About the swimming pool it looks like old fashioned bt clean. Thank you Thistle.

Clean room and facilities are exactly what we expected it to be. Generous toiletries. Pool is clean and the view is awesome. Buffet breakfast is great, decent options. Also tried their high tea meal and it was also good. Location wise is accessible and near JB Sentral. Definitely recommended.

Nice hotel. Room is bright and great location. But isn’t super clean. Hair and powder found on bed. Amenities don’t have cotton pad. Hair found in packaged earbud. Breakfast was pretty good as attached. Will stay again if price is reasonable. Without discounts it’s not worth it.

We been here for few times. This time when we checked in, we met Receptionist name, Ms Nor Ashikin. She's grumpy, not friendly and has no eye contact. When we ask questions she didn't give eye contact. We wanna to inform her that we book 2 different booking, one with Trip.com and the other booking is directly to the hotel, due to rooms available at trip.com. Through our explanation, she didn't give us any eye contact. We have to ask again what we need to do. With her eyes looking at the screen, she told us tomorrow come down again with the key. That's all, so the next day we meet Ms Natasha, she was so friendly and helpful. We found out that Ms Nor Ashikin missed out our requirements. Ms Natasha helped us up. For Ms Natasha I will give 5 star but for Nor Ashikin, I'll give one star. Overall we love our stay here and will definitely come back but we hope we won't come across Ms Nor Ashikin. Not only to us, she was very hostile towards other guests too. The management needs to do something about her hostile attitude towards the Guest especially.

The one bedroom apartment was maintained just the way we last stayed: Spacious living area with l-shaped couch and basic kitchen amenties, comfy cosy bedroom with shower. Entire apartment was clean and really nothing to nit-pick about! On 33A level there's clean swimming pool overlooking City Square mall and its vicinity, as well as gym(a few machines was faulty though and cannot be utilised). Lots of food choices across street to Komtar jbcc or City Square. Overall a superb enjoyable stay and highly recommended to family, couples irregardless given its slim Priceline(we booked ours at $45/night)!

Great value for money when booking online.Hotel are huge and rooms are spacious.Cleanliness and housekeeping are tip top the best hotel I ever stayed.Staff are so friendly,helpful and always gave a fast respond.My upmost gratitudes to the receptionist counter.... Great location, right beside KSL. But the mall was closed due to CNY. The rooms were dated but very clean All the staff from check-in counter to house keeping and restaurant were very friendly and professional. Breakfast situation was pretty chaotic the restaurant was very full until the staff had to open banquet tables for guests waiting in the queue. Food was mediocre but it was replenished very quickly. Overall, a pretty good hotel if the rates are reasonably priced.
