This hotel is a mainstay- just consistently clean and friendly. Seems nearly every room is well maintained and super clean. Check-in staff always welcoming and responded to any concerns we had. Breakfast hot and coffee strong !
The hotel in Oregon is very close to the station, and the bus is actually free.
Environment: good
Hygienic: OK, very clean
Service: Good
Facilities: Good microwave on the second floor, refrigerator is standard
People were nice and my room was clean. Breakfast was better than most buffets but it did cost $10. Bring singles for a tip so you don’t have to stiff a nice waiter
Hotel environment is not bad, next to a shopping center, is the opening of the hotel around the door early, the hotel staff can also, compare nice, we rented a car, the hotel can park, the river view by the river is not recommended, there is a railway nearby Very noisy at night, the train whistle all the way, this hotel is not in the city center, if you live here, it is strongly recommended to rent a car, the airport taxi to the hotel should be between 30 and 40 knives, tipping 3 knives enough. Figure 1 is just flying over the hotel when flying to Eugene.
This hotel is located in the mountains. It is very clean, but the air conditioner is very noisy. We turned off the air conditioner when we arrived at the hotel, and the temperature was still moderate. The breakfast the next day was also OK. The location is worse than the hotel 200 meters away.
Due to changes in itinerary, we informed in advance on 10/17 that we would check out on 10/18 and requested a refund on 10/22. I don't know what went wrong, so I kept pretending to be deaf and dumb. The hotel didn't reply and the refund was delayed. A duplicate charge occurred for another room. Full prepayment is required when booking, and USD700 will be charged to your credit card upon arrival. We coordinated and said that it would be refunded within 36 days. Now we have to wait until the 36 days are up before making any plans. Another invoice for dinner in the hotel was not received after many days of coordination. All in all a very bad experience.
We got there super late coming in from delayed flight from JFK one night! We’d been cruising Mediterranean for 15 days and had already flown for 17 hours. I had a late check-in Standard room booked for my Sister and I who badly overpacked and had 5 heavy suitcases of various sizes. I chose Holiday Inn @ PDX as it was close by the Airport AND offered shuttle service! With the help of the Shuttle driver we managed to load everything but our carry-on luggage on the cart. Checked in and were given the key to our room on the 2nd Floor. Laboriously we made our way up to 2, managed to get our suitcases outta the elevator with the fast closing door and made it to our assigned room only to discover that the “key” didn’t work—no amount of re-insertion would convince it to, either; so my Sis went back down to the check-in desk and was given a key to a Suite on the 3rd Floor!
We made our way up to that suite of rooms and were greeted with an exquisitely dark & dreary mostly dark brown but well appointed two room Suite. The rooms were clean, but the Holiday Inn in th location if VERY OLD, and they’ve done y their best to offer amenities to accommodate and make up for the aged old place. The Coffee Maker didn’t work, but everything else seemed to. The King Bed was super comfortable but the carpeting is old and unraveling and the living-room wall heater burned its way through a travel bag that help my brand new never worn Natica Puffy Jacket and the carrying bag! Didn’t know it was even on. Good place to crash for a night or two, but no longer. Bed was super!!
The Nines is a luxurious hotel that met and exceeded my expectations.
Location: The Nines is located in Central Portland, near Pioneer Courtyard Square, and is a stone's throw away from many excellent restaurants, shopping, and tourist destinations.
Room: The room itself is fairly large and luxurious, with a very new renovation. The two queen beds were very large and the bedding was very comfortable. The washroom is large and has everything that is needed. The ceiling height is very high, so it makes the room feel very spacious. Well done and designed.
Common Area: Wow! From the entry of the hotel, to the hallways upstairs, it was surely a journey through excellent design! The lobby is in the center of the hotel, on the eighth floor. The lobby is large and is very well designed, with an atrium/courtyard like style.
Service: People were attentive and housekeeping did a good job. Concierge was willing to help and had an excellent attitude.
Without any doubt, The Nines is surely Portland's best hotel.
Room was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable.
Curtains would not close all the way. Bathroom exhaust fan and one bathroom light fixture did not work at all. Notified management about these upon checkout and they seemed responsive.

Very Good
GGuest UserI would say that the hotel was okay; it had an outdated style. However, the staff were very nice and even upgraded our room to a suite. For the price, it was a good stay. Additionally, the breakfast was satisfying.
PPEIRANThis hotel is in a good location, only seven or eight hundred meters away from Washington Square, but there is a train road next to it, the noise is quite big, it will be slightly better at night, there is no breakfast, only a cafe bar sells some snacks
GGuest UserWe were very disappointed to discover that there were no kitchen essentials, I guess we didn't study the fine print to understand that, but honestly.....not even a cup to get a drink out of??? No icemaker in the hotel, and no way to make ice in the freezer in the room? The pull out bed had no bedding or pillows. There was ONE roll of toilet paper for three of us for three nights. NO HAND TOWELS is ridiculous!!! When I asked about them the clerk said we should just use our washcloth. The bath towels were tiny and inadequate. But, by far....the worst thing about this place was there was NO HOT WATER in the shower!! It was clear the lever had been purposely adjusted to stop in the straight up position not allowing the lever to be turned left toward the hot water side. After we all had to endure a lukewarm shower I asked at the desk about it and was told we would need to exit the room for their repair person to adjust it. So we did. The next morning? Even colder!!! That alone, I believe warrants a full refund. OH.......and to top it off....a crazy lady shouting profanities was in the parking lot and the desk clerk solved the problem by...bringing her into the hotel to be with all of us. How is this right? How is this any way to run a brand new hotel. How is this place worthy of the Choice hotel brand? It is not. I fully expect a representative to contact me for a partial credit. Cold showers are not what I paid for. Thank you.
Nnicole.wants.adventureI arrived to quite late to my booking. The front desk staff was courteous and even offered me a cookie when I checked in. My room was clean and orderly. There were a few stains in the carpet, but nothing too bad. The shower was amazing and had two shower head. There were plenty of outlets through out the room for all of my devices including next to the beds. The room also had a little couch coffee table, microwave, and mini fridge which was super nice. They did charge for the bottled water in the room though. I paid extra when I booked my room to have breakfast included, the breakfast was great. Bacon, Sausage, Potatoes, Eggs, and Waffles. They also had bagels and some items in the salad bar area but I didnt mess with any of that. Overall it was a pleasant stay. My only complaint would be related to the parking. There wasnt very many parking spots to begin with and the spots were super small. It made getting in and out of my car very difficult when parked. The hotel was super easy to find and was right off of I-5. However, I will warn you that the entrance is tucked around on the backside.
GGuest UserThis hotel smells like Christmas morning because of the fireplaces and the scent diffusers, very cool feature I haven't seen anywhere else. Very nice front desk staff, windows that open, fireplaces, and despite an ongoing renovation there wasn't any chaotic banging / drilling or paint, they kept everything very professional. There are 3 different Marriot properties all next to each other in this area, this Residence, the Fairfield and the Courtyard. They all sort of share the same parking lot, it feels secure, although you get some loud cars coming through and this hotel is right off the highway exit, so some people complain about car noise. I didn't notice / mind it that much. For some reason the nightly rates went way up since I stayed here, from around $108 to now over $170 before taxes. At the initial rate, it was an amazing deal and the best Residence Inn by far. At this new price it's still a solid, very clean and professional hotel but I think it's priced too expensive relative to the amenities.
__M1861199****I am writing to formally express my serious concern and disappointment regarding the handling of my personal belongings left in the refrigerator during my recent stay at your hotel.
We stayed at Hilton Portland Downtown from December 23 to December 24, occupying Rooms 416 and 417. Upon checkout, a full box of prescription medications was accidentally left inside the refrigerator in one of the rooms.
I want to be very clear about the nature of these items:
The box was full and intact
It contained injectable prescription medications, clearly medical in nature
The medications were stored inside the refrigerator, not left out in the room
These items were obviously not trash and are easy to identify as medical supplies
Given these facts, I find it extremely concerning and unacceptable that:
The items were apparently discarded or mishandled, and
No attempt was made to contact me to confirm whether these medically critical items should be kept.
At a minimum, I would expect hotel staff to recognize that refrigerated injectable medications are not garbage, and that such items require verification with the guest before disposal. The failure to do so reflects a serious lack of care and responsibility, especially considering the medical importance of these medications.
These medications are essential for managing chronic health conditions, and their loss has caused significant distress and inconvenience. This situation could and should have been avoided with a simple phone call.
GGuest UserThe ladies working the front desk in the mornings are absolute angels. I can't say enough nice things about them. I don't know if they're the owners of the place but they are the most kind, considerate, mindful, down to earth beings I've met in a very long time. The staff are always so very kind, motherly, considerate and concise. I stay here often since i work on the bridge nearby and I've always had an enjoyable, relaxing, carefree, and unobstructed stay here. Clean rooms, hallways, amenities. I've never had anything to complain about whatsoever. I've said it once before that everybody there deserves a raise because they are an absolute dream team by the way they make the entire hotel run so efficiently and effectively, and go out of their ways every time to make sure my stay is always a breeze. Thank you all so much for everything. Keep up the good work, and keep your heads up high, always.
GGuest UserThe hotel is next to the freeway and I had a room that faced the freeway, so the traffic noise was loud. Sadly, I live near a freeway, so I slept great but it would be tough for someone that wasn't used to the noise. I did not notice the freeway noise on the front side of the building. The room was pretty dated, no bathroom sink counter offset to it's own niche area, it part of the sleeping area. I laughed because as a kid, it was a common design, but, now it just looked odd. The beds were updated and comfortable. The climate control worked smoothly and quietly. The staff was very nice. The breakfast area was big, updated and very clean. Breakfast setup had eggs, sausage and a waffle machine. Basic breakfast and lots of coffee. It's hard to miss the place, there is a giant sign outside. Very close to a Walmart and Home Depot.
GGuest UserThe staff 々 is very kind. The room was also very clean! I didn't have a hair dryer in the room, and when I told the staff, they gave it out. There was also a morning snack and I was able to spend very comfortable.
GGuest UserWe fly in from Hawaii, our flight delayed 3 hours, so we arrived at the hotel at 4am, the girl at the counter was walking towards outside and saw us entering the hotel with luggages without saying a word, we thought she was stepped out just a bit, and waited in the lobby, but she disappeared! There was another man in the lobby he tried to help us find her however no luck.
We were so very tired and waited in the lobby for half an hour, she finally came in and gave us the key of the room, it only took like 2 minutes.
If it were that simple, why not just handed the key to us upon our arrival, we tried to make phone calls, but the phone rang right in front of us in the counter with nobody inside, it's very very very frustrated.
