GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around, and there are plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. The room was clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding, and the soundproofing was good, so I had a great night's sleep. The front desk staff were warm and professional, and check-in and check-out were very efficient. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations; it's great value for money, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time. Highly recommended.
JJohanna VannathyAbsolutely loved staying here. Great welcome by staff, excellent room with a congratulations gift for our 20 year anniversary. The decor is cutting edge the whole pkacebus high quality. Absolutely recommend the onside restaurants too.
EExploring our one precious worldStayed one night at James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor for a conference held onsite.
Check-in staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel has three separate lift banks servicing different areas — if you’re unfamiliar with Wellington, definitely ask staff to explain the easiest exit route to the city. It makes a big difference.
Breakfast was a very large buffet with plenty of options, though I’ve experienced better quality elsewhere.
The hotel itself is older but has solid bones. Perfectly adequate for a work overnight stay. For personal travel I’d probably choose somewhere with more atmosphere, however it felt safe and comfortable.
One odd feature: some rooms face an internal terrace/window area — remember to close your curtains as people can see straight in.
Bed was clean and well made, the room was tidy, though the carpet is showing its age. The shower had excellent pressure and plenty of hot water — a highlight.
Overall: reliable, practical conference accommodation rather than a destination stay.
CConstance_HuoLocation-wise, it's right by Wellington train station, making it a great choice if you're arriving by train or heading to London.
Facilities: They're quite old. The air conditioning was one of those large, vintage units I'd never seen before, and it was incredibly noisy, so I just turned it off. The room had a microwave and cutlery, and surprisingly, a mini-bar – which you usually don't find in hotels at this price point. However, there was a snag: no price list for the mini-bar. While I knew the bottled water in the fridge wouldn't be free, I was still surprised to be charged $7 upon checkout (when a similar bottle is around $2.50 at the supermarket).
Service: The downstairs restaurant has long operating hours. I was able to order a delicious burger after a late check-in, and grab a coffee and a pastry to go during an early checkout. Most of my positive impression comes from that restaurant.
MMarcel MeulmanIn the heart of the downtown city close to the action if you like to go out in the evening. We missed the airco as it was warm on our room. We had nice view on the church next to the hotel
GGuest UserExcellent hotel. I went here last week and was going to give it a lower rating, but having stayed in a hotel this week that was almost 3x the price with none of the amenities I have a new appreciation for it. My room at Ramada had a complete kitchen with stove, dishwasher, sink, fridge, kettle, cutlery etc. It had good A/C, and even a heater, though I didn't need to use it. Clothes iron and ironing board were very appreciated. Having a washing machine and dryer takes it over the top -- this room really has everything I would ever need during a hotel stay. The staff at the front counter were very friendly and helpful, and the room was warm with excellent soundproofing. The location is great, just a short walk to the CBD. The one downside of room was that a duvet from the closet was dirty, with a yellow stain. Which is gross, but overall I would absolutely stay here again.
FFenmaoshiguanjunStayed two nights in Wellington and overall, it was quite good. 👍 The front desk is on the 7th floor, and most rooms are on higher floors, offering nice views. The room was reasonably spacious and had heating, which was really helpful in early winter. Breakfast is on the 6th floor and had a decent variety. The only downside is that you have to go up a flight of stairs from the street to get to the hotel, which isn't very convenient for guests with large luggage. Sometimes the escalator next to the street isn't even working, so you have no choice but to carry everything up.
GGuest UserNaumi Hotel is a very fun funky decorated hotel. The size of the room was fantastic but the barroom is on the small size. Also there is no robes. Loved the sofa and size of the TV. I would definitely stay at this hotel again
GGuest UserWe had 1 night stay. Good facilities, like pool, Spa, Restaurant, however a few things need to improve to reach 4 star, like stated.
Our room was clean and tidy but some lights up in the ceiling were out, basin in the bathroom was very cracked.
We had dinner at the restaurant. I ordered pizza, where the dough was slightly undercooked, no crisp, sloppy.
Filter coffee at breakfast, that was included had a colour of weak tea. But you were offered to pay extra for a coffee on top of $30, you already paid for a buffet breakfast.
Previously stayed here before, but I think it needs a lot of improvements as it's gone down quite a bit.
BBetty153The room was a bit small, but fully functional, easy to find, and relatively quiet. There's a H Mart nearby which was very convenient. It wasn't until the second day when I was out strolling that I realized the Parliament building was right next door, so I popped in for a visit. I saw some complaints on Google Maps about expensive parking, but I didn't drive, so I didn't experience any inconvenience.
The front desk staff on my first day was an Indian guy who was generally understandable. The lady at the front desk on the second day was very enthusiastic.
Cleanliness: The hallway had a distinct smell, like a mix of Sichuan and ******* areas... and there was a lingering masculine scent in the room, which required airing out for quite a while. Other than that, I don't have many complaints.
