Stayed here for a business trip and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. The room was clean, and the environment was quiet and comfortable. The service was professional and efficient, and the facilities were complete and easy to use. It's perfect for business travelers. I'll definitely prioritize staying here again next time I'm in Yangon.

The reception staff was extremely helpful, from guiding me around the city to any other requests I had I was unwell on my last days in Yangon and the staff helped me with a late checkout I appreciate all their help and assistance and extremely good service The hotel is in the middle of china town and lots of shops and hawkers for food and fresh fruit are around Hotel is walking distance to downtown and sule pagoda

Communication was seamless. The location is excellent, right by the lake, making it perfect for a post-dinner stroll. Downstairs, there's a buffet with a wide variety of dishes, and the flavors are well-suited for Chinese tastes.

This is perhaps one of few premium hotels that are still considerate to smoking patrons and offer smoking rooms which is why I selected it. My room was on the 3rd floor, with direct access to the pool. The room was clean, spacious and modestly comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent, delivering wide assortment and variety. There is a night club on site, however closed with anticipated opening from April 2026. The gym is clean and fully equipped. Look forward to staying here again.

It was a great stay. Staffs are polite and helpful. A male receptionist and a woman Housekeeping attendant at 16th floor were particularly helpful during my stay. The Pool is beautiful and I was actually amazed that they built a very deep pool for a hotel (1.9 m). My feet barely touched the pool ground, but they did have the fitness trainer who watched out for the deep pool. The room is okay, but I feel like it’s a bit small. Don’t get me wrong, they already are among the widest rooms in Yangon, yet the room I got had very tight entrance. The bathroom is separated with toilet and shower and bathtub. TV is rather small, I expected to have a more updated smart TV in this kind of hotel. The only thing I wasn’t satisfied was Breakfast. Yes, they did have variety of selections but the tastes were blend and honestly, I didn’t like their food menus. Overall, it was pretty decent memory to stay at Melia.

There are staff members who speak Korean, so communication is possible to some extent. The facilities are not bad. The location is also good for going to the airport or downtown.

The Strand is a find, old hotel which, for the most part, has been tastefully refurbished. Some shortcomings: the staff appear very young, inexperienced and with poor English, resulting in the wrong response to requests - half an hour to get cornflakes for breakfast; the lighting in the suite was poor, with several lamps but few overhead lights, making it impossible to read in bed; the bathroom shower had little water pressure and was difficult to use; we couldn't use the bath as there was no plug; three telephones in the suite but two not working, so the only usable phone was in the toilet cubicle - not the best spot for conversation; requests to resolve the problem went unanswered. Checking out, the management showed no interest in listening to customer feedback. Someone needs to wake up and smell the coffee..

Everything was very nicely arranged. Except for the pool when i came to the level where the pool should be. There was smoke everywhere around the pool and it was not a safe experience. In my observation it looked like an electroc cable was melting and causing the smoke

From the concierge who provided invaluable local insights to the housekeeping team who maintained impeccable standards of cleanliness, the attention to detail and genuine care for guests was evident in every interaction. Their professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to assist with any request made me feel truly valued as a guest. Safety and security were never a concern during my stay. The hotel maintains excellent security measures, and I felt completely at ease throughout my visit. Whether returning late in the evening or leaving early in the morning, the well-lit surroundings and attentive security staff provided complete peace of mind. It was only a short stay, but it was very comfortable and quite near to the airport. I particularly enjoyed the vibes - it looked straight out of a movie! The staff were all helpful, they even packed our breakfast since our flight was early. You can also immersed in the experience of trying traditional tanaka (face cream) at the lobby.
