The large open-air bath overlooking Mt. Yufu has the best atmosphere. It's warm, so you can soak in it leisurely. For men, there is already a １ or a small open-air bath that is hot and can be used by the bridge. I stayed in the main building. It is a building with a considerable age, and although it is undeniably old, the toilet has been renovated and cleaned well. The dishes were basic plans, so there were no high-class ingredients, but I was satisfied with the contents that I could feel politeness. Finally, the response of the employees was very good and made the impression of this inn very good.

The Beppu Hotel I stayed at for the second time was very close to Kitahama and within 10 minutes of Beppu Station. There are also large supermarkets, bamboo tile hot springs and other facilities nearby. It is a relatively large old-fashioned hot spring hotel. The price is not expensive. The facilities are a bit old, but the service is very good. The front desk and hotel staff will smile and say hello every time. You will be very comfortable during your stay. In addition, if you need to take a bus to Jigoku Onsen or Yufuin, please note that the bus station number on Google Maps may be wrong, so be sure to confirm it at the station before getting on the bus.

We booked 2x Japanese rooms for 3 nights, over the rugby period. Obviously all hotels were charging a premium, but having booked 12 months in advance, at a cost of virtually £2,000 (excluding breakfast and dinner), I expected the hotel to be pretty good. The staff were very pleasant, but the communication was a problem - appreciate that this is our fault as much as theirs! The rooms were very shabby in our opinion, the furniture was badly marked and it didn't seem very clean. The worst problem was the smell in one of the rooms though, the staff told us it was from the tatami matting, but it clearly wasn't, as the other room had the same floorcovering and didn't smell. We ended up thinking it was the drains - but it was very unpleasant. The bathroom was pretty basic, and not well maintained - dirty grout around the tub etc. We stayed at 5 other hotels in Japan, and generally the standard was as expected - this was the only disappointment when considering cost vs. quality. The futons were more comfortable that I had expected - I slept really well.

My wife booked this hotel for us for our weekend in Beppu. We selected this hotel based on the price, parking, and location. It is within walking distance to the train station and down town area. They have parking here which is a plus. The staff was very friendly, the individual helping us spoke great English which made check in/out easy. They have breakfast here, because of COVID, it was not buffet style, but the trays were nice and the food was great. The rooms were perfect, they were modern, spacious, and had everything we needed, plus the bed was comfortable. Overall, we had a great stay here.

Everything else is almost perfect. I especially like the service in the store. Both the female manager and the young man in the store (I learned from chatting that he is the son of the boss) are very kind and friendly. The stay experience is excellent. Compared with other hot spring hotels in Yufuin, the room I stayed in is simply better because it has an indoor hot spring. I love it and will definitely go there again if I have the chance.

Had an overnight stay here for the rugby after a day travelling down from Hokkaido. The trip went incredibly smoothly, then the welcome, the fans zone, the organisation and the fans transport out to the stadium were amazing. Well done Oita. The hotel was a little overwhelmed by the number of people booking in before the match, but staff were friendly and helpful; the room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped; and the hotel was easily found from the station via an interesting arcade - no more than a 5-10 minute walk. Would certainly stay here again if in Oita.

Very helpful and friendly front desk staffs will smiling face all the time. The onsen on the roof top is excellent particularly the outdoor pool. I love their ramen serving after 9:30 pm, good timing after enjoing onsen. The room size is reasonable if you been to enough hotels in Japan. Cleanliness and tidynesss is impressive. Breakfast is good but love to see more western selections. Overall I love this hotel and will prefer to stay there again.

How cost-effective it is. Small business. There is a pick-up service after 3pm. We will take you to the station when you leave. There are only 6 rooms. Basically no one is using the public hot springs. You can go in at any time. It is no different from private ones. The meals are like family dishes. There are Mandarin-speaking work-study students. I used it in mid-December. Since it is adjacent to JR Oita Station, you can go from the station in 2 ～ 3 minutes without getting wet in the rain. The front desk is 8F in the building where the hotel is located. This time, I used the non-smoking double bed room of 17F. The face towel in the bathroom of the room was made in Imabari. Check-in is possible from 14:00, and guests can also use the 19F ”Tenku no Yu” from 14:00. This morning bath was the most comfortable. Breakfast was served at the 8F restaurant from 7 am. I arrived around 6:55 with a breakfast ticket, but 7 ～ 8 people were already lined up. Instead of choosing your favorite seat, the person in charge will guide you. At that seat, the person in charge asks whether the main dish is Japanese or Western. On this day (12/16), Japanese food was grilled ＋ small bowl, Western food was hamburger ＋ small bowl. Except for the main dish, it is a buffet style, and it is a style that you take this and that yourself. It was a pity that I couldn't have breakfast slowly because the bus to the airport was early. I chose Yufuin Yubel Hotel this time after looking at the reviews. The evaluation score was 2.5 points, rounded up to 3 points. The location was deep within Lake Kinrinko and within walking distance of Yunotsubo Kaido. I left my luggage at the hotel and headed out for a walk, but on the day of my stay, many of the shops on Yunotsubo Kaido were closed due to heavy rain from yesterday. However, there were many tourists from overseas due to tour schedules. Pull up from your stroll and check in! After taking a bath in the room and resting for a while, we headed to the dinner venue. I received the appearance of Seki horse mackerel. At other onjukus, Seki horse mackerel and Seki mackerel have a certification label that is a branded product, but Yufuin Yubell did not have any labeling. There was a menu, but there was no explanation from the serving staff. I felt disappointed. The next morning, I was waiting for rice and miso soup to be served for breakfast, but they never served it, so I got impatient and rang the doorbell to have it served. I felt uncomfortable since this morning.

This is not your typical ryokan. The rooms are big with a good sitting area.. The soaking tub and shower had so many mechanisms that it takes a while to figure out all the controls. Every room has a great view of Yufu mountain and the valley. Some of the rooms are free standing units. Service is great and the included dinner is outstanding. It is a typical Japanese kaiseki dinner with numerous courses. Breakfast is entirely Japanese style, and they serve rice, miso soup and fish. Put up with it if your taste is 100% western. You can have a nice cup of coffee or juice near the lobby when you finish your breakfast. Though they will not serve you coffee with the breakfast. Overall, you will be overjoyed with this place.

First of all, I was very satisfied with the location! It was nice that it was close to Yufuin Station and the bus terminal haha. And the owner was friendly and could communicate in English, so I was guided well! Above all, I went because of the hot springs, but they said that the family baths can only be used if a “child” is included..! We couldn't use the family bath because it didn't meet the requirements, so we used the public bath. However, since the public bath is only used by ryokan guests, we were satisfied that our family could use it almost privately for two days. In particular, I brought a grandmother in her 80s with me and she really enjoyed it! I requested breakfast, and I was able to choose between 8:00 and 8:30, and it was a really neat and clean Japanese home-cooked meal! I stayed for two days and was satisfied with the different types of side dishes and drinks. It seemed like they paid a lot of attention to hygiene, and I felt like I was treated well, so it was a really nice place to stay. Next time I go to Yufuin, this is a place I want to stay again! ☺️

From Hells of Beppu we drove 1.5H to our isolated, small minshuku in Yufu. There only about 5 rooms with some up the hill. We hear from friends that the best hot springs onsens would be in this Beppu-Yufa area. This ryokan is rustic and not too fancy, but the service and food are undeniable. One lady staff person spoke near perfect English, while another spoke Mandarin. There is also a remoteness. I walked in several directions from here. There's no shops, Lawsons, 7-11, or restos immediately. I did find a resto where I bought mochi (alas, no black bean filling, or anything). There are persimmon trees with orange fruit along the road, but I didn't take any. The singular most reason I like this place is that, for the first time, I had 3 separate hot springs baths in my room -- two outside in the balcony and one near the tub. Talk about privacy and availability. Perfect, especially with the cooler temperatures! The kaiseki dinner was outstanding with abalone, crab, and plenty of fish sashimi. Asian pears were served. They are in season now. Breakfast in the small dining room with one table was also brilliant. We had two low beds which were difficult to enter in and out since hardly any walking space adjacent to the beds. When we departed, the owner-manager took a photo of us at the doorway. This is a very desirable ryokan if you like remoteness and a high level of service and cuisine.

　The place to stay in Yufuin was very hesitated. Of course, there are many nice inn. The inn we chose from among them was the go ayatake Kan of tsurutomi. The decisive factor was the great view from the inn. The Sakuratomi Go Ayake Kan was located on the south side of Yufuin town, on the edge of Yufuin basin. Therefore, there was no block on the south side, and the front was the 々 of Yufu Dake Do hall, and the town of Yufuin spreading in the basin below it was a view. Especially when I was in the open-air bath, Yufu Dake was rising in front of me, and it was a wonderful inn as we imagined. The rooms and public space are nice and clean. The dinner and breakfast at the nice dining room were very delicious, and the staff who contacted me were only good people, and it was a very satisfying stay.

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Service was very good. Parking was an extra 550 yen per day. Breakfast was Japanese style but did include a bacon and egg cooked in front of each guest with the small Japanese hotpot. Our room fit 3 adults was very nice with clean modern amenities consisting of one room with two single beds, and a sizable living room with futon in the evening for the third bed. Nice view of Beppu tower in our room. Hotspring outdoor was totally enjoyable with a view of the sunrise and the Beppu Bay. Gotta be careful though because for ladies, someone in a boat at the bay might be able to see our naked upper bodies with telescope if we stand up.😅

The location of the hotel is very good, right next to Beppu Station; I arrived by direct bus from Fukuoka Airport, the fare is 3250, and I got off the bus and walked for 7-8 minutes, but it took three hours on the road; Hotel mini single room with double bed. The hotel has a hot spring bath which is very comfortable. The water in the room is also from the hot spring ~ Breakfast is okay, I can eat enough, but it’s too early~ Let’s have some snacks in the evening…there are convenience stores and yakiniku restaurants nearby, so it’s very lively More than 400 a night is still pretty good~

The staff throughout the hotel were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful. They always greeting and smiling to us. The dinner & breakfasts were amazing. The room was spacious with fantastic view！

Excellent service, food, view, room - oh, what could I complain about? Everything felt amazing from the moment I entered the hotel. The hotel had a no-shoe policy, and they maintained it sparkly clean. The outdoor onsen was an infinite-pool onsen that was facing the ocean, which was mesmerizing. The breakfast buffet spread catered to my every-so-picky taste buds, and the restaurant was overlooking the sunrise. Other aspects of my stay that I greatly valued was the good quality of skincare products given and the incredible service. If I had to make one complaint, that would be the slight inconvenience of getting to-and-fro the hotel by bus on public holiday (taxi to the JR station is still affordable - about 850¥). If you drive, it would be amazing.

This is an excellent hot spring resort hotel, highly recommended. The charming and vast view of Beppu Bay is intoxicating! Japanese-style log design and modern Korean style are presented at the same time. This is an amazing hot spring hotel! The room is clean and tidy, the space is spacious and comfortable, and the view from the balcony is first-class. It is winter now, but if it is spring, summer and autumn, I believe it will be even better! The semi-open-air private hot spring is very comfortable and relaxing, and the hard work on the road completely disappears! All staff were very friendly, (including the restaurant staff) and professional. The temperature today was only 1 degree. When we arrived at the hotel, there was already a staff member waiting outside the door despite the cold wind. Seeing his friendly smile, we immediately felt warm and as if we were at home. He took the initiative to help us carry our luggage. And delivered to the room. When watching the video introduction of hotel facilities in the lobby, they included desserts and snacks, which was very considerate; in the restaurant, every detail was attentive and the service was attentive. When we left after finishing the meal, the staff bowed until we disappeared, such a tradition The dedicated culture is truly admirable! The hotel is located in the middle of the mountain. We did not drive ourselves. There is a taxi on the right side of the JR exit. It takes about ten minutes, which is very convenient. Thank you to all the hotel staff for your warm hospitality. Hotel is centrally placed in front of the station, I had a comfortable room on 11th floor, average size for Japan, very comfortable bed. The buffet BFast was ok, choice of Japanese and western food... A good surprise was the onsen, that I particularly appreciated after a day spent walking, exploring Beppu' s Hells .. The hotel is very clean and tidy and all the staff were kind and helpful, I could leave my luggage at the reception on the leaving day while I was exploring Beppu on my own... Good rate quality/ price, I would go there again, if I were in Beppu again.

Stayed in couple of different onsen hotels in beppu area in the past several years and this, to me, is an average/below standard hotel. It is located at the side of a main road and you can hear when ambulances or police trucks are passing by at night. To make thing worse, our main door is crashed by something in the middle of the night, creating loud noise waking us up. We just are not sure if the door is crashed by a drunk man, the wind or something else. But this is enough for us to worry!! Is there somebody trying to break into the room? Is the hotel safe, really? Anyhow, don’t think we would be returning to this hotel again in the future. One point to add by the way, most of the private bath which guests can use are extremely small except the one which is outdoor and located on the left of the lobby entrance. If you want to try, try this one and it shall be enough.

First of all, the location of the hotel is good with less than 10 minutes walk to Beppu station, there is also bus stations in front and opposite to the hotel with easy access to attractions such as Umi Jigoku, Yufuin, and Beppu Global tower. The room is clean and tidy with great views, though we are not super fans for hot spa, we enjoy it very much, yet we love the bigger pool. The hotel staff are great too, they ran out to help us to carry the luggage’s when we arrived, they also came out to collect our umbrella when we backed to the hotel as well. Finally, their breakfast is one of the best I have ever had in Japan with much variety of Oita local cuisines, while the view of the restaurant is scenic.

The location is good. It's a little bit of a walk from Oita Station, but it's tolerable. When I checked in, I had to wait about 20 minutes because the cleaning hadn't been finished yet. The breakfast was delicious.

The location is good, not far from JR station. There are many delicious food in Oita station. There is also Chuo-machi shopping street nearby, and eating is close. The room is very clean, the toiletries are from DHC, and the view from the balcony is pretty good.

It was the first time I stayed at the facility for about １０ for the first time in several years, and it was the first time since I became a Nikko brand. The location is a little from the downtown area, but the view was good because it was high-rise. The equipment is still old. The shower in the bathroom was not an automatic temperature plug, and the water pressure of the hot water was weak, so it was difficult to adjust the amount of hot water at the appropriate temperature to use the shower. Also, breakfast was disappointing. Although it was a Viking, the replenishment was slow, and some of them did not come out to the end only by the tag. There is no udon noodles yet, so when I asked the staff, it was out of stock, so I could do it by soba. I refused because it would take １５ minutes. I've never heard of a Viking out of stock. Even though there aren't many people. There was almost no bread. Services such as the front desk are good. Especially the greeting of the person who cleaned the room was pleasant.

I think Forza is a hotel suitable for staying in Oita mayor, of course, short stay is also suitable. First, the accommodation is very clean and stylish, making me feel very relaxed. Second, the location is good. There is no problem with walking to Oita Station in ten minutes. There is an entrance and exit on the roof to connect to the Qilou Commercial Street. So even if it rains, you don't need an umbrella. In addition, there are many shops you need to go to on weekdays such as convenience stores, coffee bars, supermarkets and so on. It is also very close to Kyoto Street. I stayed here for three nights on a business trip. I will book this hotel again if I have the opportunity to come back.

Stayed alone for the Rugby World Cup. The hotel in Oita city is full from early on and the price is only twice as much as usual. But only here felt the spirit at the usual price. Also, if you were studying more in detail about access to the World Cup stadium, it would have been even better.
