Yufuin Besso Shikisai Hotel

Great location, not too far from Yunotsubo Street. The hot spring was comfortable, and the food was quite good – even men will leave feeling full.

I was looking for an onsen in Yufuin with my parents, and decided to give this place a try because it seemed like a good value for money. Although the building is a bit old, the value for money seems quite good. Firstly, the public onsen bath was very spacious and the water quality was excellent. You can reserve a private family bath, and breakfast is also served. The biggest drawback is its location on the outskirts of Yufuin.

The hotel seems to have been renovated, but still retains the charm of an older establishment. It's not a huge hotel, but the rooms are spacious and even come with a balcony. Unfortunately, the balcony overlooks other residential buildings. Breakfast and dinner were included and the food was delicious. The hotel also has a hot spring, though it's a bit small, only fitting about four to five people. Overall, it was a good experience!

The room was incredibly spacious, and the service was impeccable. The small garden was beautifully and tastefully arranged. This hotel is very secluded, and the private onsen is a real plus, though the hotel's facilities are a bit dated.

Nestled on a hillside behind Yufuin's main Yunotsubo street, this hotel is a convenient ten-minute walk from the main thoroughfare. We booked the half-board option, and both the Japanese-style breakfast and dinner were delicious. The onsen (hot spring) facilities were also excellent, and having two private baths available for reservation was a huge plus. Overall, it offers great value for money.

This is a Japanese-style inn with a beautiful garden, lush green and incredibly refreshing. They offer complimentary yukata (Japanese robes), which was fun for taking pictures with friends. The breakfast is a set menu, plentiful and delicious. The open-air onsen (hot spring bath) also has a natural charm, beautiful, comfortable, and satisfying.

The kaiseki (traditional multi-course dinner) at Shikisai Hotel was absolutely delicious, and even the kids' meals were generous and tasty! Our room was spacious and had its own hot spring bath. After parking, you walk through a lovely green path to reach the hotel. I really love this hidden gem tucked away in the forest!
