Hotels With breakfast in Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand

We enjoyed our one night stay. It was easy to locate the hotel. The front desk manager was courteous and friendly and helpful. The hotel room was cozy, clean and spacious. We had a nice view of Palmy from the hotel room. There was an AC, a mini fridge, hot water, kettle, coffee, black tea, flavoured tea, milk and sugar available in the room. Unfortunately, you have to bring your own bottle of water, toothbrush & toothpaste. No hairdryer. Very comfortable bed & mattress. There's also a gymnastic and laundry facility available. Parking facility was available for the hotel's customers. Pak n Save was just across the street. There was also Burger King, Thai restaurants, a pub and some other eating spot nearby. There was breakfast and dinner available upon purchase at the hotel. Part of the hotel is under renovation. We reached there in the late afternoon and left around 10 a.m so most probably, this could be the reason we didn't hear any noise. We really wish we could stay more than a night and get the chance to explore Palmy a bit more.

Better than expected overall. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable, though the thin walls make it quite noisy. The place is dated but has a nice rustic charm. Rooms are small—fine for three people with backpacks, but tight with larger luggage. The kitchen/lounge is well equipped, though bathrooms are limited (two toilets and two showers). Great location for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, with shuttle pick-up right outside. Limited nearby options, so bring food or eat at the on-site restaurant, which serves generous, tasty meals. Sauna is a nice bonus.

I stopped here just because I was tired of driving. There are a bunch of restaurants around and a supermarket, so in that sense, the location is good, but I don't think there is much interesting in the proximity. The room was great: very clean, spacious, the shower was clean and the towels smelled fresh. Even the shampoo, conditioner and bodywash were very nice, not like the regular cheap stuff you get. So all in all a great place to have a rest.

Ich war schon im letzten Jahr in dem Motel und es hat uns gut gefallen. Die Inhaber sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Deshalb bin ich in diesem Jahr wieder hin und ich kann nur sagen, freundlich ist noch nicht übertrieben. Dieses Jahr alleine und in der Hütte untergebracht mit gemeinsamen Wasch/ und Duschgelegenheit. Hat vollkommen ausgereicht. Wurde vom Motel zum Startplatz des Tongariro gebracht und am Ende wieder abgeholt. Einfach nur super! Ich bin über 75 Jahre und ich spreche nur schlecht englisch. Aber die Inhaberin hat mir unter den Gästen einen Familie aus Deutschland vermittelt, die übersetzt hat. Super! Ein Einsatz der nur gelobt werden kann.

The manager was incredibly kind and friendly. The room condition was excellent; upon our evening arrival, the manager had thoughtfully pre-heated the room for us. The spacious bathroom, with safety bars for seniors/mobility impaired, was impressive. Our children enjoyed Netflix. Breakfast, served personally by the manager from 7:30 AM, was delicious, and the warm hospitality in the quaint dining area created a memorable experience for our family. Special thanks to the adorable Lucky and to the manager for these precious memories. We will definitely visit again.

The only problem we had was the room was double booked for what ever reason . We require a refund for the second room as it was cancelled by the Coachman.

It was spacious and comfortable enough for a family of 3-4 to stay together. The cooking facilities are well equipped, so it is convenient. Clean and comfortable bedding. Good Wi-Fi as well. If you ever need to stay in Palmerston North, Fitzroy Motel is a great choice.

We had a great stay! Front desk was friendly and helpful. The rooms and the place was clean. We arrived at the start of winter season, not too many guests so we had the place almost to ourselves. The amenities was great, they had a lot of DVDs for entertainment, and the common kitchen was clean and well maintained. We also ate at the cafe which was delicious. The location was walking distance to the groceries, the tourist information center and other eateries. Overall a great stay!

This hotel is located near a famous snowy mountain, offering great value for money. Dinner is simple, with only pizza available, which means no other options. The staff are friendly and always ready to answer any questions. Since it's in a small town, there are hardly any shopping malls, but it's very quiet. We had a great night's rest.

My Wife and I Stayed in one of the cosy little cabins on the site for one night as we made our way down to Wellington. The cabin was a nice size and very clean, it has all the amenities you need inside and is very quiet and tidy outside. In the morning we had breakfast delivered to our door by the owners that was very delicious.
