The room is quite big and the service is good. It is right in the center of the city. The location is super convenient and the facilities are very new. There is a coffee machine in the room and a bar downstairs. The service is very good.
What an amazing little hotel! Perfect location right in the middle of everything. We booked the budget canal room and the view was beautiful. We really enjoyed people watching (the bridge) and the sparkly water reflecting from the lights. Really clean and spacious. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Definitely stay here!!
Ordinary express hotel, the room is very small, the room is similar to the attic when checking in, the window is very small, can only be opened a little, the experience is very poor, the carpet in the room feels very dirty, except the location of the hotel is OK, there is nothing else to recommend
Very nice hotel perfectly based between Oostende and Brugge. Located on a lake side, very calm position and cheaper than others. Well recommended but the shower tray sealant in the bathroom could have been changed or bleached as it was full of black mould all over. Pity as shower was good and quite wide. Room small but its an ibis budget and it is enough space for 2 people. Comfy bed too
A hotel with a sense of design, even the bathroom on the negative floor is quite gorgeous.
Breakfast is slightly simpler than those hotels in Germany and the Netherlands at the same price. But compared to Belgium, Italy is also above average.
Very close to the train station, there is a quite ** restaurant next to the castle, the dishes are great!
Very worth a try, stay here next time! !
The room was nice, and the bed was comfortable. However, there was a communication gap between the hotel front desk and the restaurant. They said breakfast wasn't included on the first and second days. To avoid the same situation on the third day, we contacted the hotel front desk, and breakfast wasn't included on the third day.
Service: Most dependent on who is in the bar. The young lady is a top!
When we want to book a night, the proposal does not take account of discounts, on the contrary, the upgrade we received when checking was fully accounted for any extension. Online books would have been 30€ cheaper than extending the bar! Problems with airco: it doesn't work. It is quickly very warm in the room. Although reported several times; not resolved. Further perfect location!
Cons:
- The rooms are outside of the main building. Dorms are large but it gets really hot and there's no AC or even fans. It's quite suffocating, even with the windows open (and there's a bar just next to it, so it can be nosy in the evening). Thankfully Belgium nights aren't too hot.
- Showers and toilets are in the same room, and shared for men and women, which can feel like a lack of privacy.
- No hairdryer or any amenities in the shower room.
Pros:
- Good location, 15min walk to the center.
- Beautiful restaurant inside the main building.
- Free earplugs
I lived in the homestay the day before, but I was not satisfied with the hygiene of the homestay, so I changed to this hotel the next day. The front desk was very good and the room was very spacious. It is worth talking about the room, at least five meters high, and there are gorgeous chandeliers that can adjust the light and dark. The bathroom has windows, spacious space, and there are stools in the bathroom with full details. Toiletries are L'Occitane. It takes two minutes to walk to and from Bruges Railway Station by bus No. 1, and the traffic is quite convenient; it takes 5 minutes to walk to a public laundry; and it takes a few minutes to reach attractions such as the Temple of the Holy Blood. The front desk and the manager are serious and responsible, and the check-in process and luggage storage are very silky. Recommended!

PPhotoguyThe location is average, the room itself is very nice, but one exception…the chairs in the room. They are not comfortable to sit on for longer than 30 minutes.
I don’t understand why a hotel like this would pick such cheap and uncomfortable chairs.
NNeilJHotel Portinari in Bruges is a gem! The modern design is both stylish and inviting, creating a lovely atmosphere. My room was comfortable and well-appointed, making it a perfect retreat. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the city’s main attractions. The friendly staff added to the overall positive experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Bruges!
GGuest UserThe location is excellent and it is very convenient to go to various attractions. If you drive yourself, it is a bit difficult to get in and out of the hotel. The car is clearly parked next door, but it took half an hour to get to the hotel entrance (one-way street + road closure)

AAnne LiekeWe had a nice time at Talbot House. The big plus is the historic value of the place, as we visited the area to learn more about WWI. So amazing to be able to explore the house and talk to the volunteer working here. Other things we liked were the friendly service and breakfast. Also big plus we could bring our dog, staying in the garden house.
With the cold whilst we were there, not having central heating was a bit of a struggle as the aircon is only on during the afternoon/evening and harder to set to a consistent temperature. Also the shared bathroom’s window couldn’t be closed, so absolutely freezing to go to. Last, our room was on the small side and felt a bit cramped especially with our dog. But overall good value for money.
GGuest UserA very Cosy hotel right in the old city centre. Staff members are so nice to put chocolate bars in my allocated room as birthday gift as I check in on my bday.
Beware there are rooms with wooden logs that may not be acceptable by some tourists. Some rooms are on G/F or underground floors which you may need some psychological preparation.
In a word, a very good hotel with professional staff and excellent location to go everywhere
GGuest UserA great find - this super-clean and modern hotel was perfect for an overnight stop. Rooms were very clean with everything needed in case you’d forgotten your bathroom bits.
Lovely restaurant with superb breakfast. Good choice for evening snacks or dinner too. Located just on the outskirts of Bruges it’s a 3km walk into the main square, perfect for us. Lovely lady on reception was so kind and helpful, making check-in so easy. Surrounded by a field of sheep one side and cute little pathway the other, a real little gem. Highly recommend.
One mention is the room windows are terrifyingly dangerous and the pillows aren’t the best!
GGuest UserIt's a beautiful hotel, right in the city center. The breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this hotel.
