I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting this to be a 5 star place, but there were a lot of things that were definitely not 5 stars. The robes were grey and didn't cover bigger people. One of them had pilling all over it, I didn't want to even wear it. The bathroom door squeaked loudly, so if one person got up to the toilet in the middle of the night, it woke the other person up. There were instructions on how to use the spa bath, but not on how to put the plug in. It didn't just plug in normally. We weren't able to use it on our first night which was very frustrating as it was one of our main attractions. I rang housekeeping the next day. Someone came and had a look and said that you had to turn a know on the side of the spa, how would anyone know that? The lock on the door to outside was broken and a small slide lock had been put on. Why not fix the main lock? I used the toilets to the side of the library and when I washed my hands, the tap was all loose and wobbled round. All these things are little but show that the lodge needs to have things fixed or updated. For $300 per night, you expect the best. The worse thing was on our last morning, we got to breakfast about 8:45, the restaurant closes at 9:30 am. There was continental and scrambled eggs and bacon. At about 9:00 am they stopped bringing out anymore bread to toast. No more croissants, eggs or bacon were brought out. There were about 6 tables with guests and everyone kept going up and checking, but they didn't refill. People were saying, they must have run out of food! But for some reason the waiter kept lifting the lids to the egg and bacon to see what was in there, but of course there was nothing as he hadn't refilled it and he was the only waiter!! I was really disappointed and wouldn't recommend it, unless you are getting a really good discount.

Upgraded to a top-floor room as a platinum member. The room wasn't huge, but the view was great. Check-in at the front desk was very friendly; there weren't any Chinese-speaking staff, but communication was smooth. Crowne Plaza Christchurch boasts an excellent downtown location, within walking distance of Victoria Square, the Avon River, and the Cathedral. The rooms are modern, spacious, and very clean, with some offering city and river views. Breakfast is generous, and the service is professional and attentive. The hotel also has a well-equipped fitness center and other facilities. Overall, it was a comfortable and efficient experience, perfect for both business and leisure travelers, making it a top choice for accommodation in Christchurch.

Four of us were traveling, so we booked a suite at this hotel. Let me start by saying that apart from the hotel being new and having good facilities, everything else was pretty mediocre. Facilities: The frying pan provided in the suite couldn't be used with the induction hob, which meant we couldn't heat our food initially. We called the front desk for help, but even they didn't know how to use it and suggested we search YouTube for instructions on how to use an induction hob (our reaction: ???). The front desk also didn't know how to use the in-room phone to contact reception (our reaction: ??? again!). The hotel management team really needs to re-train their staff to ensure every employee is familiar with how to use the hotel's facilities, rather than repeatedly insisting in subsequent communications that there's nothing wrong with the facilities. Hygienics: Pretty average. There were three beds in the room, and the sheets and duvet covers on two of them weren't clean – they had floating lint. Also, the bath towels had very obvious blue pen stains. Service: We contacted the hotel via email the night the issues occurred, and Trip.com also helped us get in touch with the hotel to resolve them. The problems were eventually fixed, but the overall experience remained poor. The hotel's attitude made us feel like we were bringing up existing issues just to get compensation... Finally, there are many better hotels in Christchurch than this one. While it's new, the hotel's service team is a bit lacking. Don't let yourself ruin your trip here.

This Novotel is located within walking distance to the tram station and the famous New Regent Street. The beds are also comfortable. Our only problem with the room is that with its large bathroom there is not even a single hook on the wall for hanging used towel. There is also no heated drying rack, which should be a rather common in-room facility found in many other hotels in NZ. The only sink / washing basin is right outside the bathroom, and it is tiny compared to the large bathroom. In short, the bathroom has a terrible wasted space issue.

The hotel environment and facilities are very new and clean. It's located right next to the airport, just a few minutes' walk away, which is super convenient for travelers catching a 6 AM flight, eliminating any transportation worries. Also, because we were concerned our rental car wouldn't have enough space for all our luggage, I emailed the hotel to ask if we could store our bags a few days before our check-in when we arrived in Christchurch, and then pick them up when we officially checked in days later. The hotel quickly replied by email, confirming it was possible and free of charge. They even arranged for my family to stay in the adjacent room for easier care. This was truly fantastic! 😀

The British-style castle hotel is very classic, and the garden design is quite unique. The hotel facilities are new and very clean, and the bedding is comfortable. Gray's Park is right next to the hotel, making it super convenient for walks or runs – a must-visit for fitness enthusiasts. There's a supermarket and Chinese restaurants nearby, and it's close to both the airport and train station, making travel easy.

The hotel was truly amazing and a wonderful place to call home for a few nights. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything! Oven, microwave, dishwasher, stove, utensils…everything! We were pleasantly surprised that there was a washing machine and dryer too! There is a working fireplace and the views were stunning ❤️Ours was the two bedroom villa; one room has a bathroom attached with a jacuzzi tub and the other bathroom is not attached to the second bedroom. This bathroom has a shower only, no tub. The second bedroom is actually two super singles joined together so you could possibly request for that configuration. We found that the shower stall in the smaller bathroom has a poor design as water flows from the shower through the grooves between floor tiles and makes the whole place wet. This was perhaps the only down side to this place. The good at the restaurant is reasonably priced and wonderful quality. The location of the hotel is strategic for trekking to the Rakaia Gorge and also for driving to Edoras (or Mt Sunday) where LOTR’s filming took place.

This hotel offers excellent value for money; I'll definitely be back. Although it has shared bathrooms, there's a private one for every two rooms. There's also a shared kitchen with a complete set of utensils for guests to cook their own meals. The hotel's location is fantastic, right near the art center and within walking distance to many attractions.

Excellent location, meticulous cleaning, complete amenities, friendly staff, and great value for money. My stay was very comfortable. The environment is quiet and clean, the front desk is welcoming and responsive, the bedding is comfortable, and the location is superb. I will definitely choose this place again for my next trip.

Since it's a relatively new hotel, the facilities are brand new with no signs of age or unpleasant odors. The soundproofing throughout the room is excellent, completely blocking out road noise. 3. **Comprehensive and Thoughtful Amenities** The hotel features an outdoor heated swimming pool, perfect for relaxing after water activities. There's also a small gym, convenient for a quick workout during a road trip. The daily buffet breakfast offers a rich variety of options, including local New Zealand sausages, fresh fruit, and made-to-order eggs – all delicious. The 24-hour front desk service is gentle and accommodating, and they even give a complimentary teddy bear souvenir to guests with children, a truly heartwarming detail. The hotel has its own free parking, so self-driving guests have no worries about parking. The Wi-Fi signal in public areas is stable. 4. **Pleasant Dining Atmosphere** The restaurant and bar, with their floor-to-ceiling windows, offer direct sea views. Enjoy a glass of local wine in the evening while watching the sunset; the ambiance is absolutely perfect.
