This hotel is excellent, offering incredible value for money. It's definitely the top choice on Mount Kirishima. The private hot springs are absolutely amazing!

Despite the rainy weather everyone seemed really friendly and easy going. The staff took great care of our needs and was really attentive. Even though we dont speak Japanese, communication was possible. Some people of the staff also spoke English. The room and amenities were great and clean.

The moment I opened the door, I was truly amazed – a huge floor-to-ceiling window directly overlooked Sakurajima volcano! Whether it was watching the volcano faintly appear through the morning mist or admiring the city lights come alive in the evening, this view was absolutely breathtaking. The room's interior design was modern and simple with excellent natural light. Staying in such a spacious environment by myself instantly lifted my spirits. 【About Facilities and Service】 As someone meticulous about details, the hotel's cleanliness put me completely at ease; every corner was spotless. - Gym: The equipment was new and comprehensive. Running on the treadmill while enjoying the view outside made the workout feel effortless. - Club Lounge: This was a major highlight of my stay! The environment was elegant and quiet, offering not only comfortable sofa areas for relaxing and reading but also dedicated dining areas and a bar. For a solo traveler like me, it provided both a sense of social security and the freedom of personal space. 【Highly Recommended: Natural Onsen and Foot Bath 🛁】 This was definitely the biggest bonus of my stay! The hotel has its own natural onsen, which is a savior for travelers who have been walking all day. The most thoughtful touch was the outdoor foot bath. If you're traveling alone like me or are a bit shy about public large onsens, this foot bath is absolutely perfect! Sitting on the wooden steps, soaking your feet in the warm spring water, and looking up at the indoor garden scenery – the feeling of relaxation is truly indescribable. The room faces the sea view, which is great! One room, two meals, breakfast and dinner in another room. Food quality is good! When I checked out, he would help me get the car to the door instead of driving on my own. To sum up, the service is considerate. For three thousand dollars, you can find a sea view room with one bed and two meals. 

Art Hotel Kagoshima offers a very positive stay overall, largely thanks to its outstanding staff, who consistently went out of their way to assist and make guests feel welcome. I strongly recommend requesting a room with a view of Sakurajima—one of Japan’s most active volcanoes—as waking up to this dramatic landscape is truly priceless. The hotel’s location is also very convenient, with easy access to nearby bus routes. While the rooms are comfortable, the building is clearly dated and would benefit from significant renovations to better match the quality of service.

I was impressed by the friendly staff, all of whom had the biggest smiles. Kagoshima Chuo Station is about a 20-minute walk away, straight along the main street in front of the hotel. The breakfast buffet featured a wide variety of local Kagoshima ingredients and traditional dishes, as well as a wide selection of sweets, making it a delightful experience from the start of the day.

Absolutely loved this hotel! It's nestled quietly on a hillside, directly facing Sakurajima, and we were incredibly lucky to witness the volcano erupting. The gentleman at the hotel entrance, dressed in an old-fashioned uniform, was so friendly. He saw us taking photos and specially came over to take a group picture for us, and it turned out great! The hotel offers various dining options and a convenience store. The breakfast, though, was the real highlight – easily one of the best quality breakfasts I've had in a Japanese hotel. The hot springs (onsen) were also wonderfully relaxing and fully equipped. Highly recommend!

A hot spring hotel near the sea, a ten-story Japanese-style sea view room, with an unobstructed sea view outside the window, the scenery is very good. I gave you a sand bath coupon for the hotel's own sand bath hot spring, so you don't even have to go to the Sand Le Hall. The specialty of Ibusuki is the sand bath. You can’t take pictures, so just use the pictures on the official website to take a look. You can soak for ten minutes at most, half the amount for children, and a staff member will wake you up when the time is up. The swimming pool is open during this season. The hotel has a free shuttle service to Ibusuki Station in the morning, leaving at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. You need to make a reservation one day in advance. Dinner was Satsuma cuisine, which was exquisite, with fresh ingredients and delicious taste. Breakfast is buffet style. The Iwasaki Hotel next door actually had small fireworks on 8.12 nights, and I was lucky enough to catch them. The foreign girl at the front desk speaks very good English. She introduced herself as an expatriate from Dubai who has been working in Japan for 5 years. Now she speaks Japanese better than English 🙂

The hotel is quite old but so is the other hotels in the area, free alcohol bar at check in time was great it was overall nice.
