"Stayed at Comfort Hotel Maebashi for a short trip. The room was warm and cozy, though a bit small — similar to most hotels in Japan. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the toilet felt more spacious compared to other hotels. Overall, a comfortable stay with everything you need. Would definitely consider staying here again!"

LilingshuchiThe entire hot spring town is absolutely beautiful. Since it was newly renovated in 2024, there was no musty smell in the room. The staff were professional, polite, and warmly welcoming without being intrusive, and their English was excellent. There's a shuttle service from the hotel to the station, or you can walk there yourself. This hotel is exactly what I imagined a Japanese onsen hotel to be. The hotel's own hot springs are fantastic. The location is truly the best – some hotels are up in the mountains or require a bit of a walk, but Ichii offers direct views of Yubatake. On the first floor, there's also a large souvenir shop with many unique items that aren't available back home. I'd definitely choose to spend a whole day exploring Karuizawa and then stay at Ichii again!

Excellent Hotel Review
Staying at this hotel was an absolute delight! The room was spotlessly clean, cozy, and well‑equipped. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm smile. The location is perfect—quiet yet close to attractions and restaurants. The food was fresh and delicious with a great variety. I had a comfortable and memorable stay and will definitely return on my next visit. Highly recommended

A pretty decent Onsen. Just that the staff couldn’t speak much English and we had a hard time trying to understand the dinner flow. And the amenities at the onsen bath are quite limited.

Both the facilities and the hot springs were top-notch. However, the food quality was a bit lacking. Also, the platform didn't inform us that the shuttle bus from Karuizawa to Kusatsu required advance booking, which caused us to miss the last public transport. We ended up having to pay a high taxi fare to get to the hotel.

ChingSqThe hotel is a bit of a drive from Karuizawa JR Station, about 35 minutes, and there's a toll fee. However, the scenery along the way is beautiful. Shiraito Falls is about 10 minutes away. The hotel parking lot is ample and very convenient.
The hotel rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The hot springs are both indoor and outdoor, with an orange-brown color and a mild odor. Unfortunately, the outdoor hot springs don't allow for a view of the sky.
The breakfast and dinner buffets offer a wide variety of options and are delicious.
This hotel has a very resort-like feel and I'd definitely return if I had the chance.

The Dormy Inn brand is guaranteed. With a room rate of less than $500, you can enjoy a bath, soba noodles and popsicles in the evening, and the room is also large, with enough space for three large suitcases. It is very worthwhile.

I have a comfortable rest while traveling alone. It was a special day with heavy snow and strong winds, but it was nice to feel like I was in Frozen. It was warm even if I was in the hostel and it was so comfortable that I didn't feel cold inside. I bought breakfast at a low price, but it was good to be able to eat various things despite the low cost of the breakfast buffet. While using the Run of House accommodation (randomly designated accommodation), it was better to have a room above the basic room as it was not crowded by travelers. If I have a chance next time, I want to come again. I'll rest well! ^^

Kinchoro is the more exclusive wing of Fuikuichi. The rooms come sight private onsen and it’s similar to most 10 tatami rooms.
The service from the staff is good. They are almost invisible when you don’t need them but will magically appear when you need help, during meal times and check in/out time.
The food unfortunately seem to be so so only. I didn’t find it spectacular, and in fact fringing on being a bit too inventive. Otherwise, all okay.

Although the hotel has no special appearance, the internal rooms are great. The large glass windows can see Chicheng Mountain and Yuanming Mountain, and you can see great scenery when you get up early.
It is also very close to Shiduan Street, there is a shuttle bus, you can also walk there.
Breakfast and dinner are also delicious, kaiseki cuisine level.
Service is excellent, it is the best service I have traveled so many times in Japan.

Very clean and tidy. Room as pictured. Staff lovely... thank goodness for google translate.
Private hot pools great...large. You had to get in quick as no booking - but good sysyem on co.outer to see when free. I
American breakfast good (except tomato sauce ON tge omelette). Omelette was light and fluffy.
Only about 10 minutes walk to the steps.
