I was satisfied because there were many types of baths in the large public bath. However, although you can see the river from the balcony, the balcony was in such bad condition that I didn't feel like going outside. I had enjoyed the hot spring town a few years ago when I stayed at another hotel nearby, so I was looking forward to going there again this time, but I was very disappointed to find that all three amusement centers were closed. Two of them are out of business, and one seems to close at 6pm.

Overall, Kizunoniwa is definitely better than Konoha. Dinner was a delicious Japanese meal served in a private dining room, and breakfast was also good. My only minor complaint was that the rice wasn't quite up to Japanese standards. The location is quite far out. If you're heading to Ueno Station in the city, leaving the hotel at 9 AM and having a smooth journey, you'd likely arrive around 1 PM. The hotel shuttle takes ten minutes to the bus stop, then it's an hour and a half by bus to Karuizawa, and another hour-plus from Karuizawa to Ueno. The main delays are due to waiting for various connection times. It snowed on our second day, which was truly beautiful. I'd love to come back during autumn leaf season if possible.

The staff is very nice and have a good arrangement of the room. The room is clean and spacious. And we can enjoy the onsen with a good view of whole Maehashi city. Can enjoy the manga after onsen. The food of restaurant is also delicious.

Turn left at the east exit of Gaoqi Station and walk for about 5 minutes. It is very convenient. However, the hotel entrance is too hidden and difficult to find. There is a DOMREMY factory-operated store next to it, which is a paradise for sweethearts. The room is moderately spacious and has a massage chair, bath salts, dental floss, etc. There is a 711 on the right when you come out of the hotel, and dining can be done at Gaoqi Station. I was too rushed to use the bathhouse on the 10th floor this time. I plan to stay here next time and give it a try.

Stayed at Comfort Hotel Maebashi for a short trip. The room was warm and cozy, though a bit small — similar to most hotels in Japan. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the toilet felt more spacious compared to other hotels. Overall, a comfortable stay with everything you need. Would definitely consider staying here again!

The staff was very good. I am very satisfied that I can enjoy the food and eat various dishes little by little. I didn't get tired of watching the murals in the bath. The staff was very happy to serve and it was a fun trip. There are few inns that I want to use again, but Tatsumi Kan wanted to use it again! Thank you.

The location is a bit remote, the elderly male reception staff is very enthusiastic, the room space is large and well maintained, but it feels like the age of the building. The meal is quite delicious, but there are a few dishes that are western-style, and I am not very used to eating. I want to eat local traditional cuisine. Overall a relaxing hotel.

The view was amazing, surrounded by nature, and the rooms were spacious and quiet—it was wonderful. The food was also very varied and satisfying. The seafood was especially delicious, and it went down a treat with the alcohol (lol). The staff were all very friendly, and when I was trying to take a photo from the hallway with Mt. Asama in the background, a staff member called out to me and took the photo for me on his smartphone, making it a pleasant and memorable trip. 🙏

Room & vibes Stayed in a traditional tatami room and it was so Japanese in the best way – futon, tatami smell, the whole ryokan fantasy. Super cosy, perfect if you’re here to soak, chill, and live your best onsen‑town main‑character life. Buildings & facilities Hotel has three blocks, all connected via the main building, so you’ll always pass through it anyway. Most of the good stuff – hot springs, buffet etc. – is in the Annex building where I stayed, so it was really convenient, just no Yubatake view (that’s only for the main building rooms). Location & mini shopping zone They literally have their own shopping area on the first floor of the main building, right by Yubatake and the hot spring street, so you can roll out of the hotel in yukata and start browsing. Super easy to snack, shop, then hop back into the onsen without feeling like you “went out”. Transport & walking in snow There’s a shuttle bus to the nearest public transport stop, so luggage days are easy. You can walk it in under 10 minutes, but in snow season the road gets icy and crazy slippery, so honestly not recommended unless you trust your shoes (and your balance). Staff & service energy Hotel staff are amazing – super friendly and actually proactive. Besides Japanese and English, some staff speak Mandarin and will just switch to it to help you out, and they’ll even offer to take photos for you before you have the chance to ask, which is perfect for solo or shy travellers.

There are enough parking spaces for parking, and it is best to drive in and out, because other traffic is not convenient. The breakfast food is diverse and delicious!

YYouziのbinvI booked the highly-rated Bouun Ryokan three months in advance, supposedly in business for 462 years! The interior decor and tatami rooms were surprisingly new. The room service, the dining environment for dinner, and the exquisite Kaiseki cuisine were all incredibly impressive. We stayed for two nights, with breakfast and dinner included. The hotel uses only the finest Japanese ingredients, and not a single dish or dessert was repeated. I especially want to commend the Japanese gentleman who picked us up and dropped us off at the bus station, and the young lady who helped us with our luggage on check-in day, January 5th. Both were exceptionally thoughtful. However, I must criticize a young male receptionist at the front desk – fair-skinned, round-faced, and wearing glasses. He didn't seem Japanese and was very impatient with guests. A high-end hotel like this shouldn't have such staff; it really detracts from the experience! Nevertheless, this won't stop me from staying here again on my next visit to Kusatsu.

GGuest UserKinchoro is the more exclusive wing of Fuikuichi. The rooms come sight private onsen and it’s similar to most 10 tatami rooms. The service from the staff is good. They are almost invisible when you don’t need them but will magically appear when you need help, during meal times and check in/out time. The food unfortunately seem to be so so only. I didn’t find it spectacular, and in fact fringing on being a bit too inventive. Otherwise, all okay.

11356463****Although the hotel has no special appearance, the internal rooms are great. The large glass windows can see Chicheng Mountain and Yuanming Mountain, and you can see great scenery when you get up early. It is also very close to Shiduan Street, there is a shuttle bus, you can also walk there. Breakfast and dinner are also delicious, kaiseki cuisine level. Service is excellent, it is the best service I have traveled so many times in Japan.
