The hotel's location itself is excellent, right opposite the train station. However, staying in the main building was incredibly noisy because it's only about 10-20 meters in a straight line from the train station, and there's also a pedestrian walkway downstairs that generates noise. Another issue was that during peak hours in the morning when tour groups were leaving, it was impossible to get an elevator. I had to carry my luggage down from the fifth floor. From check-in, everything was self-service, and there was essentially no staff interaction. The cleaning staff were quite good and responsible, but the noise from their morning cleaning was too loud, waking me up every day. In short, if you're a light sleeper, think twice about staying here, it's just too close to the railway tracks.
Amazing space ,wonderful private bath with jacuzzi, steam room and massage chair. There was an assortment of bath scents and amenities. Robes and slippers provided. We enjoyed the pampering. It was a long walk from the train but so worth it.

The location is super convenient, less than a 5-minute walk from Nippori Station. The room was clean and practical, though a bit small. Self-service laundry requires coins or a card. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a great hotel, highly recommended for those who prioritize convenient transportation. There are also plenty of good restaurants and convenience stores nearby for dining and shopping.

Superb experience in Nohga. Everything here has been curated very carefully, you can tell the people or group behind this whole hotel concept really put in so much thought for their guests.
Absolutely loved my entire stay here. I eat breakfast at their bakery every morning. Love their customisable bagels, mortadella sandwich, salted bun and cinnamon mochi donut. Chocolate mochi donut was a little too sweet. Americano and matcha latte were great.
Thoroughly enjoyed their rooftop bar every night (opens till 12am). Awesome vibes, very romantic atmosphere. Staff are sweet, gives heat packs and blankets to keep us warm. Warm cocktails are a must during winters. You can order any random cocktails and they all taste so good.
The distance from the train station to this hotel is quite a distance but I think the overall experience you get in this hotel makes the walk a worthwhile one. Def recommending this hotel to my friends who wanna come to Kyoto.

Our plan to visit Arima Onsen was canceled, which led us to discover this Japanese-style hotel that also offers hot spring baths. Unexpectedly, it became the highlight of our Kansai trip.
After a day of walking 10,000 to 20,000 steps, when my feet felt like they weren't my own, a hot bath and a session in the massage chair, followed by watching TV while enjoying the hotel's unlimited yogurt or ice cream, instantly revitalized me. Before bed, another soak ensured a deep, childlike sleep.
The hotel's breakfast is another major feature. After an early morning bath, everyone came to the restaurant in their cotton pajamas, creating an orderly yet relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is quite spacious, and the staff's service is very professional and attentive. The layout is well-designed; guests remove their shoes for the tatami rooms, and staff frequently clean the floors and surroundings. The laundry room even has a dedicated area for women. Washing machines are free, and dryers cost 100 yen per use, which is very reasonable and convenient.
I've already bookmarked their chain hotels in other locations. I hope to visit Japan often and stay here again.
The room is big and it has all the amenities eg. TV, Big bed, jacuzzi, well equipped toilet, etc. All the toiletries are beyond our needs. Movies are free and breakfast are really cheap. The only drawback is the nearest metro station is 1 km away. But the room is value for money. Highly recommended.

Everything is perfect except the so-called wagyu dinner at the hotel restaurant. While the photo of the menu presents a nice wagyu and you can pre-order as many times as you can within 90 minutes, the beef was served in a very disgusting appearance. It is tough and dark yet it is not done inside. It is definitely not worthy of 7890 yens pax. It was electric grill but not charcoal grill. Anyway, the services provided the waiter, Alan, is brilliant. He was sincere and friendly.
The housekeeper, Ms Aina Sao was also deserve my praise. She works with a nice and sincere manner and always put a smile on her face. Also, there are free wine, snacks and beer after 3 pm. You could also grind coffee beans and make yourself a cup of nice coffee. The public bath is not a real onsen. There should be no natural minerals in the water but a slight smell of chlorine.
All in all, Hotel Potel is definitely on my list when I visit Kyoto next time.
The hotel was more than I expected. As soon as you get in the outside noise disappears. It has a big eating area and even a spot where you can make your own matcha tea.
The hotel was clean and the room was spacious, quiet, and private. The staff is welcoming and helpful. They also speak English. Great location with many coffee shops and restaurants near by. I will highly recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay there next time I am in the city.
Bonus point... I got a beautiful towel arrangement on my birthday.

Overall, my stay was quite comfortable, making it a great choice for business travelers who need to work on the go. The room was fully equipped with an adjustable standing desk, a large monitor, and a mechanical keyboard, providing excellent working conditions.
However, this complete setup took up a significant amount of space, and I hadn't anticipated such facilities, which made the room feel a bit cramped and confining.
The bathroom only had a separate shower stall, no bathtub, but toiletries and disposable slippers were well-provided. Many Japanese hotels usually don't offer slippers proactively, requiring you to fetch them yourself or not offering them at all, so this thoughtful touch was appreciated.
The vanity counter was exceptionally spacious, making it easy to place personal items. The bed was soft and comfortable, offering a good rest experience.
The guest rooms are in a unique location, situated above several yakitori restaurants. During dinner hours, there was a faint charcoal aroma in the air – not strong, but clearly noticeable.
There's a significant time restriction: the main entrance closes after 11 PM. The building is connected to shops on the ground floor, and the front desk is located on an upper floor. After closing, there's no one at the door, so late arrivals cannot enter independently. On this occasion, I was fortunate enough to enter by following other hotel guests. The overall check-in process wasn't convenient.
The location is the biggest highlight, right next to the Takase River, with exceptionally beautiful riverside views. The shops downstairs offer a rich selection, making dining out very convenient, and the surrounding commercial district is well-developed.
Being close to both high-end malls and budget-friendly shops means all shopping needs can be met nearby. It's also due to this prime location that one can truly appreciate the unique beauty of the Takase River.
The overall experience was decent, but the breakfast quality was outstanding. There's a dress code for dining; slippers are not permitted. You can choose between a Japanese set meal or an American breakfast set, with an additional self-service buffet area. The ingredients were carefully selected; the orange juice was freshly squeezed on the spot, and the honey was prepared right there, far superior in quality to pre-made meals. The breakfast area also offered excellent views, making for a superb dining experience.
Overall, the location and meals were exceptional, but the accommodation itself was just okay.

This place is AMAZING for its price point. Everything is sparkling clean and quite new. The location is amazing as it is just next to the metro station. It is also quite close to the bus station and that's important as buses are way more convenient than trains in Kyoto. For food, there are cheap franchised restaurants around and 7-eleven right opposite. In terms of service, the staff there are friendly, polite, and accommodating. The shared bathrooms and the bedrooms are clean. There is nothing more I could ask for! AMAZING STAY.

GGuest UserI saw no reviews before ordering, so I commented. The hotel is a relatively small hotel with maybe 10 rooms in total. Most of them are foreigners. The hotel service is very good. The breakfast is not a buffet, but there are many varieties. The salad is delicious even though I don’t like salad. My girlfriend can’t get up early. He Will also be delivered to the room
