It was my second time staying here. The room was spacious and amenities are abundant. Check in and check out are seamless. Room was super clean. You are right in front of Kyoto Station with access to various trains and bus. Also close to malls such as Aeon Mall, Kyoto Avanti.

The hot spring was a delight, perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. The hotel itself is grand, and I loved the complimentary drinks and late-night snacks. Breakfast was incredibly rich and varied! The service was warm and attentive. A special shoutout to the staff for returning my umbrella, which I'd forgotten at the self-serve drink station – it was handled so smoothly! 😊 The location is fantastic, quiet yet convenient for getting around, and Sanjusangendo Temple is very close by.

The room is quite spacious, and the transportation is very convenient, with a subway station not far away. The most convenient part is the hotel's shuttle bus, which departs for Kyoto Station at 55 minutes past the hour, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. It returns from Kyoto Station at 25 minutes past the hour. The driver was very steady and polite. The breakfast was especially good; the hotel offers a wide variety, including Wagyu beef, grilled salmon, and both rice porridge and Western-style buffet options. The fruit was fresh every day, with sweet strawberries and pineapples. The downside is that the laundry room was under renovation when I visited, so self-service laundry wasn't available. Also, I noticed a lingering smell of renovation, perhaps because the room hasn't been occupied much, leading to less ventilation. The surrounding environment is very quiet.

This is a long-established hotel, very close to Kyoto Station, the city's main transportation hub. The rooms are spacious with large windows that let in plenty of light. For breakfast, you have a choice of two restaurants: one is a rotating restaurant on a high floor with great views, offering a set menu. The other is a buffet on the first floor with a very rich selection. The downsides are the lack of laundry facilities, the bathroom isn't wet/dry separated, and the room lighting is a bit dim.

Overall, my stay at the Kyoto Arala Hotel was pretty good. The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from Kyoto Station, making it super easy to get to various attractions and transfer to other transportation. There are also plenty of convenience stores and drugstores nearby, which is very handy. The room layout was well-designed, and the bedding was comfortable, so I slept really well during my stay. The hotel's on-site hot spring was a major highlight; soaking in it after a day of sightseeing completely washed away my fatigue. The staff were friendly and helpful, and both check-in and check-out were quick. All the facilities were excellent. I particularly appreciated the front desk service that allowed me to courier my luggage from Kyoto to Tokyo, saving me from having to lug my suitcase on the Shinkansen, which was incredibly convenient.
The only downside was the extremely slow and unstable Wi-Fi in the room. Streaming videos, browsing the web, and even replying to WeChat messages often resulted in buffering or no connection at all. For all four days, I had to use my own mobile data in the room, and I really hope they can improve this aspect.
Putting the Wi-Fi issue aside, this hotel offers great overall value for money.
Facilities: The microwave was a highlight, making it easy to heat up meals.
Hygiene: I chose this hotel based on a recommendation from Xiaohongshu. My most basic requirement for a hotel is cleanliness. I was really angry to see stains directly on the bedding. As for other details, I couldn't bear to look closely. The water stains on the sink weren't even wiped clean, to the point where I didn't dare to use their bath towels.
Environment: The hotel lobby environment is very good, and there's a supermarket nearby, which is great. However, it's quite far if you want to take the subway, especially with luggage.

After landing in Osaka, I took the Hello Kitty train directly to Kyoto Station. From there, I transferred to the Karasuma Line for two stops and exited from exit 4 (which has an elevator 🛗). Upon exiting, there's a 7-Eleven on the left, and the hotel is just a 2-minute walk further, up a long hallway to the second floor. The service in Kyoto is always excellent. I was able to find a good price before the May Day holiday. I've stayed at Mitsui before, but the location here is even better, with bus stops closer. Kiyomizu-dera, Arashiyama, and Kinkaku-ji are all just one stop away. The breakfast is traditional Kyoto style, light and delicious, and the elderly ladies serving were very polite. The front desk also provides a wide variety of toiletries.

Spacious room by Japanese standards, great location, nice breakfast (though the coffee from the machine is very bad). Quite poor room cleaning service. They call it “eco-cleaning”, proper cleaning is done only once every three days. The only daily service is towel replacement. Nobody made our bed for three days (without changing the sheets). When I asked the guy at reception how this relates to eco-standards, he couldn’t explain it. Also, nobody washed our coffee cup for three days — they said it’s not covered by their “eco-cleaning standard”.

We had a good experience in this hotel. The rooms are very clean, the bathroom is nice, the space is small but comfortable. You can store your luggage under the beds, which works great to have more space. The staff is also friendly, and the location is pretty good.
The smoking area is really small and cold. But all in all we had a great time in here.

Very Good
MMaverickWhen we first got there, there wasn’t any staff at the reception, apparently to call them, you would have to pick up the phone on the front desk. Although the staff speak limited English, they are friendly and accommodating.
There was PLENTY of space in the room, being able to open 2 big luggage’s with room to walk around. There was the minor inconvenience of having to pack our belongings and put to a side for check out every day, and check in again.
The breakfast of 2 options (Western/Japanese style) was a tad bit too salty for our liking. We had the chance to utilise the roof top onsen, and which was quite a refreshing experience.
The location is 10/15mins away from the nearest train station, so not very convenient when we were pushing our luggages to the hotel.
PPhillip SawThe room is big and it has all the amenities eg. TV, Big bed, jacuzzi, well equipped toilet, etc. All the toiletries are beyond our needs. Movies are free and breakfast are really cheap. The only drawback is the nearest metro station is 1 km away. But the room is value for money. Highly recommended.
GGuest UserI saw no reviews before ordering, so I commented. The hotel is a relatively small hotel with maybe 10 rooms in total. Most of them are foreigners. The hotel service is very good. The breakfast is not a buffet, but there are many varieties. The salad is delicious even though I don’t like salad. My girlfriend can’t get up early. He Will also be delivered to the room
