"The room was very quiet, with ample spacing between rooms. The hotel breakfast was a delightful surprise—Japanese-style—with fresh sashimi, sweet shrimp, tempura, seafood rice bowls, and more, all served early in the morning. Refills were prompt, and the staff were quick and efficient in attending to each guest in an orderly manner. Additionally, there's an airport bus stop just 100 to 200 meters from the hotel, directly opposite Abest Hotel."

"The location is great, and the hygiene is pretty good too, though once I found a hair on the towel and a tiny hair on the bedsheet. Overall, it's acceptable, but the room is tiny – it's the smallest hotel room I've stayed in in Japan. The service attitude was good, though. Next time I go to Hokkaido, I'll definitely pay more attention to room size before booking a hotel."

"We loved our stay at Hotel Enoe Hakodate. The hotel is conveniently located for local things to do, including climbing Mt Hakodate, taking the cable car, visiting a local onsen, visiting the red brick warehouses and running along the water.
There are also lots of lovely coffee shops, shops selling products by local artisans and bars nearby.
The all you can eat breakfast was a highlight - everything was super fresh and tasty!
It's a 20min walk to Hakodate Staation and the bulk of restaurants, but we enjoyed the walk."

"No complimentary bottled water in the room. The deluxe standard room size was decent, and breakfast was okay. With the low yen exchange rate, prices are rising, and breakfast costs have quietly gone up. Plus, they've introduced a new accommodation tax this year. By the way, both times I've stayed, I've been given a room at the very end of the hall."

"Lovely front desk service staff, mostly. They willingly offered to let me check in an hour earlier as the room is already cleaned and ready - something which most other hotels refuse to do at zero fee. Excellent location close to the Furano train/bus station, with a supermart and a pharmacy close by. And an awesome lamb shabu place at the back of the hotel. The place is admittedly old and furnishing worn out, with scratches on the wall and stuff, but overall a great place to sta"
For our last night in Hokkaido, we drove all the way from Kushiro to this small hotel in Biei. The hotel was tiny, and although it had a second floor, there was no elevator. The staff were incredibly enthusiastic and even helped us carry our luggage, which made us feel a bit embarrassed. Our room came with a private open-air onsen, so it was quite spacious, but the futon mattress was a little hard. It made me miss my smart electric mattress back home! The food here was also great; both breakfast and dinner were typical Japanese cuisine, perfectly to my liking. Definitely recommended!
This was the most magical onsen I’ve ever been to. Pretty remote and difficult to get to if relying on public transport/taxis, however once you get there it’s so warm, inviting, and luxurious.
The onsen baths are a mix of separate genders (mostly inside) baths, but also a spectacular outside onsen for mixed genders; the staff at reception will give you a covering garment for this.
The dinner and breakfasts were truly delicious and filling but we enjoyed dining in the provided yukatas.
The real draw of this place however is the birdwatching opportunities. The main lobby boasts a huge window to a bird garden which is teeming with various species. There is an owl that often visits and perches right outside the window. The staff can also call your room during the night if it appears and you’re desperate to see it!
I had a great time. I booked a room on the top floor.
Business hotels are cramped, so I stayed overnight with a friend.
There was a sauna, karaoke, and a large TV.
It was also well soundproofed, so I could drink and make a lot of noise. I had a great time.
