Disappointing Stay Despite a Promising Hotel We stayed at the Sheraton Xi’an North City during our visit to Xi’an and, unfortunately, the experience fell well short of what we would expect from a 5-star Sheraton. The hotel itself is impressive, with a good location and some very nice facilities. Our suite looked good and, on first impressions, appeared comfortable and well appointed. The hotel is also conveniently located for getting around Xi’an, with the metro nearby and easy access by taxi/DiDi. Unfortunately, the problems started with the room. The air conditioning was not cooling the room properly, and despite having two air coolers brought in, the room remained around 27°C, which made sleeping uncomfortable. There were also issues with the minibar. It was not properly stocked and, after contacting reception, we waited around 40 minutes without the matter being resolved. We were told that a manager would call us back, but that never happened. Eventually, we were advised to order drinks through room service instead. The food we ordered was good, but the delivery took around an hour on both occasions. Housekeeping was another disappointment. Despite leaving towels out to be changed, our room was not serviced before checkout. On closer inspection, there were also cleanliness issues, including a dirty mirror and tabletops and dust around the safe. For a hotel of this standard, this was not what we expected. The positives were the suite itself, the overall appearance of the hotel and its facilities, and the convenient location. The hotel has a Club Lounge, indoor pool, fitness centre and several dining options. However, the combination of the air-conditioning problem, poor follow-up from reception, minibar issues and housekeeping standards significantly affected our stay. Overall, the hotel has plenty of potential, but the level of service and room maintenance we experienced did not match the 5-star Sheraton standard we expected.

I stayed for two nights, and overall the hotel was quite good. My only dissatisfaction was with the noodle chef at the breakfast restaurant on September 13th. First, he completely ignored guests when a polite response was expected. When I ordered noodles, he didn't say a word – no ”okay,” no ”just a moment,” it was as if he didn't hear me. (I later saw a review from last December complaining about his dismissive attitude, so it seems nothing has changed). Then, he habitually argued against reasonable guest requests, which was off-putting. When I went to pick up my noodles, I asked him for the bowl with more vegetables and less noodles. He immediately, impatiently, said, ”They're all the same.” But it was visibly clear that the proportion of noodles to vegetables varied in each bowl. As a guest, I had to explain to him that I wanted the bowl with more vegetables (just wanted a taste, didn't need so many noodles). He immediately retorted, ”If you need more vegetables, you can tell me, and I'll cook them for you.” I could only helplessly tell him that the bowl I had chosen was already suitable and sufficient. Is it really that difficult to simply provide the service a guest needs within a reasonable request? Is this the proper attitude for responding to guests? This is truly the first time I've experienced such ”service” in a five-star hotel. In contrast, other staff members in the breakfast restaurant were excellent. On September 13th, the young man with glasses at the Roujiamo and Douhua Paomo station, and on September 14th, the young woman cooking noodles, were both wonderful. They provided patient and attentive service throughout, treating guests with sincerity and politeness. Given the uncle's attitude, which created a very unpleasant experience for guests, it falls short of the Marriott Renaissance's expected standards. I hope the relevant departments will take responsibility and manage this.

Staying at the Splendid Hotel was a very satisfying experience overall. The room type came with a private balcony, offering elegant views of a pine forest surrounded by greenery. It felt like a peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. Enjoying the view during the day and the breeze in the evening was truly delightful. The twin beds in the room were spacious and the bedding was soft, ensuring a great night's sleep. The bathroom was equipped with a smart toilet, and the heated seat and bidet functions worked perfectly—the attention to detail was excellent. The entire room was clean and fresh, and the staff provided thoughtful service, promptly addressing any needs. It's definitely a worthwhile choice if you're visiting this area.

Cold water bottles provided straight from the fridge once we got in, check in took a few minutes but a whole tour group came in before us and the staff were great with using a translation app to book us in. Every stop at the elevator had more water bottles to go. The view from our room was spectacular- 100% worth paying a bit extra for. The room itself was nice, clean but the carpets were a bit grubby looking, I’m sure they were cleaned but they were showing their age a bit. The room announces itself to you every time you come in which was a bit annoying but minorly so. The shower was good, always hot water available and the room provided amenities, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, vanity kit etc, and had a hair drier and charging cables, which I thought was a nice touch. Bedside tables had charging ports as well as outlets for both types of chinese plugs. All in all a really comfortable hotel stay. Would come back again

The room was spacious and bright, and the hygiene was excellent. The host's place has parking available, and a 20kW charging pile which is super convenient. The host even drove us to the tourist service center and picked us up from the inn after we finished exploring. On the first floor, you can grab a bite to eat. Breakfast is 10 yuan per person and includes thick purple rice porridge, an egg, unlimited side dishes, and steamed buns. For lunch, they offer biangbiang noodles and various homemade dishes. Highly recommend!

This stay exceeded my expectations! The room was spacious and bright, and the cleanliness was impeccable, right down to the odor-free bathroom with plenty of stable hot water. Both the front desk and housekeeping staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating, always happy to help with a kind attitude. The surrounding area has convenient options for dining and transportation. I slept really well, and I highly recommend this place!

Highly, highly, highly recommend!!! I chose this hotel because there were very few negative reviews, and I was not disappointed! We booked a large room, and the front desk staff was incredibly warm and friendly. She recommended nearby restaurants that were delicious, and proactively gave us some helpful check-in tips, which was very thoughtful. She was also almost always able to accommodate our requests! I wholeheartedly recommend Yafu Hotel! The overall service truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the front desk lady was gentle and kind, and the owner was incredibly hospitable, patiently answering all my travel questions. I happened to check in during the Dragon Boat Festival, and the hotel thoughtfully gave us festive small gifts. The floral sachet charm was super cute and really enhanced the festive atmosphere. There's a huge guide board for Hanfu scenic spots by the elevator, covered with beautiful ancient-style photos. Routes to places like Mount Hua, the North Station, Shaanxi History Museum, and the Bell Tower are clearly marked, so sisters planning to take Hanfu photos won't need to look up routes everywhere – it's incredibly convenient for getting around. The room itself was clean and spacious, the bedding was soft, and the natural light was excellent, making for a perfectly comfortable stay. Whether you're traveling solo or visiting Xi'an with friends, this place is a great fit. Both the value for money and service are top-notch, and I strongly recommend it to anyone traveling to Xi'an!

The hotel's location is super convenient; it's a short walk to the Bell and Drum Towers, and there are tons of restaurants and shops nearby. Plus, there are some great eateries right next to and around the hotel itself. The breakfast was also excellent. The front desk and customer service staff were all incredibly friendly and went out of their way to meet our needs. Our family and friends booked several rooms with different room types and dates, and the hotel staff warmly helped us arrange everything and even gave us complimentary room upgrades. The cleanliness was also top-notch. The front desk also helped us book a tour to Mount Hua and find a traditional costume photography service. I highly recommend this place.

Lovely hotel, we had a huge room with 2 TVs and probably one of my favourite showers out of hundreds of hotels. The breakfast was great, staff very friendly and great location right at the heart of Xian and only 30-40min by Didi from XianBei (North Station). The exterior of the hotel didn't do it justice, but once you are in the lobby everything is taken care of. Drum and Bell towers are both easily walkable 10-15min stroll through restaurant streets and make a lovely sunset visit (open till 9pm) and wandering around the exciting if slightly chaotic street food vendors of the Muslim Quarter just next to the towers are well exploring. Get some Biang Biang or a Xian traditional Chinese Burger. The Metro is also about 10-15 mins walk roughly near the drum tower which can take you to Huaqing Palace in about 50mins North East of the city (1 simple line change) I suggest you get entry tickets and shuttle for both palace and Terracotta Warriors (+10 mins shuttle from Huaqing Palace).
