Highly, highly recommend! This is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in, not just for its thoughtful service, but also for its proactive and highly professional, personalized approach.
The hotel's location is exceptional, very close to Bright Summit and prime spots for sunrise and sunset viewing, and it's on the main route to other popular attractions. The hotel facilities are quite comprehensive, specifically catering to hikers. Plus, they offer free Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) for guests to wear for photos. They also provide complimentary down jackets for use in the guest rooms.
The service, though, is what truly stands out—it's incredibly attentive! And all the services are proactively offered, anticipating guests' needs, which completely redefined my understanding of hotel room service. We were able to check in several hours early, saving us from lugging our luggage up the mountain. They also gave us very clear recommendations for our Huangshan itinerary! Seeing an extra child in our room, they proactively brought extra toiletries. They also reminded us multiple times about sunset times, etc. After we finished exploring for the day and returned to the hotel... that's when the real magic happened—this service truly exceeded my expectations. First, we were invited to watch a performance arranged by the hotel, then offered orange juice, followed by foot soak packets delivered to our room, and even a 20-minute free massage chair session. Isn't this exactly what we needed after a full day of strenuous hiking? A little while later, presumably after we finished our foot soaks, fresh fruit was delivered directly to our door! Did we think it was over? No, local specialty snacks were also brought to us! The next day, even after we had checked out and were about to leave, they offered milk tea and bottled water, all to keep us hydrated during our climb. This service is truly incredibly thoughtful. The key is that all of this was proactively offered by them. Before staying at this Baiyun Hotel, I honestly had no idea service could be this good! It's absolutely amazing! Huangshan is beautiful, and I'll definitely be back, and I'll be staying here again next time.

Environment: The location is excellent, perfect for sunrise and sunset. There's even staff who lead morning tours for the sunrise.
Service: I felt right at home. During the off-peak winter season, they even upgraded my room, and I could see pine trees from the window. The staff were proactive in opening doors and provided thoughtful tips via WeChat.
Cleanliness: Although it's an older hotel, the cleanliness was surprisingly excellent, especially in Building A where I stayed.
Facilities: It was incredibly warm indoors during winter. After watching the sunrise and sunset, it was so comfortable to return to the room to relax. They even thoughtfully provided a drying rack for clothes, super thick down jackets (very clean and safe to wear), and a flashlight for watching the sunrise.
The 180 RMB dinner buffet included small river shrimp, shrimp with peas, steamed fish, grain hot drinks, cantaloupe, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and more. Seeing the porters carrying goods up the mountain makes me feel it's absolutely worth it.

Clean and hygienic, with a great environment. It's very convenient, and the breakfast is abundant. The location is excellent, close to the city center, with ride-hailing services and a bus stop right downstairs. There's a snack street and university town nearby, and the high-speed rail station is practically on the doorstep, making it incredibly convenient.

The environment is great, the rooms are spacious, the views are beautiful, and the breakfast spread is very rich. The staff are also very polite and friendly to guests. However:
1) There were children continuously screaming loudly in the gym, and no staff came to manage them.
2) The breakfast restaurant was very crowded on the weekend. The hosts should have been prepared earlier to control the flow of people. Today, after being let in, there were no empty tables, and guests were still being let in continuously afterward. It was chaotic, and everyone stood around, unsure of what to do.
3) A child kept dragging their chair while eating, making a lot of noise, and no staff member came to inquire about what was happening.

First travel resort I’ve been too but had exceptional service. From getting picking up at the railway station and the host assigned to me help coordinate leaving and making sure I make the most out of this trip. The events and games that they had were also super memorable. Overall a fun atmosphere. Would recommend to come with friends or family for a weekend stay.

A hidden, ancient courtyard tucked away in Tunxi Old Street, featuring a stargazing loft where you can gaze at the starry sky and bright moon directly from your bed. On the Mid-Autumn Festival, I was able to lie in bed and watch the moon without stepping outside—it was truly dreamlike. The common areas are incredibly spacious; my child spent time practicing calligraphy and playing the guzheng, completely captivated. It was wonderfully relaxing, washing away all the fatigue from yesterday's hike up Huangshan.

I feel like I'm really old. The receptionist made me feel very gentle. I don't know if she is really gentle or just gentle to customers. Anyway, it reminded me of a friend. I can't remember the appearance of the receptionist and my friend. Every time I see this kind of gentleness, I always feel a little sad. In addition, I want to complain that I wrote this review on the bed of a hotel apartment. I really don't feel used to staying in an apartment B&B. Also, the hotel apartment, I thought it would be a hotel, but it was actually a B&B. I feel really old. I saw the hustle and bustle of Nanjing's traffic and high-rise buildings. All around were steel and concrete, beautifully dressed, with all kinds of heavy makeup, and the hurried takeaways in the middle, garbage in the corners, and the bright lights and feasting overhead. I felt a little dazed and suffocated for a moment. The last 5-star praise was for that touch of gentleness.

I booked 2 nights at the Grand Hyatt Regency Exclusive Double Bedroom. It was very spacious and had a great view especially at night. It has a separate powder room area and large walk in closet. Shout out to NINA for providing excellent customer service throughout my stay. She was meticulous about answering all of my questions and always ready to help. My reservation included access to the club area where they had a good variety of food and drinks. I would definitely recommend this particular room if you need plenty of space.

My stay here absolutely surpassed all my expectations! I particularly want to commend the 44th-floor lounge. The city skyline visible from its floor-to-ceiling windows is simply spectacular; during the day, you can enjoy a bird's-eye view of the bustling streets below, and in the evening, sipping a drink accompanied by the sunset glow, the atmosphere is simply perfect. You could easily spend an entire afternoon there without getting bored.
What was even more impressive was the service. A huge thank you to Anne for her assistance; from guiding us during check-in to promptly addressing our inquiries throughout our stay, she was incredibly thoughtful and attentive every step of the way. The lounge staff were equally excellent. They not only proactively helped us secure seats with the best views but also meticulously remembered our drink preferences, preparing refills exactly to our liking. Their attention to detail truly made an impact. Anne was always quick to respond to any of our requests, and her professional yet warm demeanor made the entire experience exceptionally comfortable.
I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit, eager to once again enjoy the stunning views from the 44th floor and Anne's outstanding service!

This stay was so comfortable! The hotel is super conveniently located, a 7-minute walk from the snack street, and surrounded by supermarkets and restaurants. The room was clean and bright, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the noise-free nights were quiet, allowing for a wonderful night's sleep. Junjun's service was friendly and efficient, and the check-in was quick. He also offered tips for visiting the scenic spots. Every attention to detail was meticulous, with separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom, and no odor. It's an excellent value, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in this city!

JJamesThe hotel is in the style of an old state-owned enterprise. The facilities are too old and seem to have not been renovated. The rooms are small and damaged everywhere. Its location is the best, just within 100 meters after entering the toll gate.
The service in the front desk lobby is relatively good, and they are caring.
The mix of guests is also a problem. You can hear loud noises at four o'clock in the morning, and at six o'clock in the morning, the old men and women ”wake up” everyone like the crowing of the 🐓 in the morning. The breakfast is average.
By the way, I have to remind you that starting this year, Jiuhua Mountain does not allow self-driving to the mountain during the day (it is allowed after 5 pm, but it is also subject to the daily control notice). Guests need to pick up their own luggage and take the shuttle bus at 50 yuan per person to check in after going up the mountain, which is not very convenient.
AAnonymous UserThis is a gorgeous hotel in a 300 year old house with a lovely courtyard garden. At the edge of the larger of Hongcun’s lake it was easy to wander through the town but slightly quieter than some of the other streets. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice Chinese breakfast.
RreliablereviewMy favourite stay out of all of the accomodations I've stayed in China thus far. Serene yet convenient location close to everything you need. Owners will arrange drives to anywhere you need to go. The food at this homestay is better than anything you could find in town and the portions are generous. During the time that I was there, they coordinated my drives to and from Huangshan, took care of my drive to and from the train station, and coordinated my daytrip to and from Hongcun.
The front staff are absolutely lovely and provided me with a lot of fresh fruit and snacks. The rooms are simply gorgeous and there was no better way to unwind after a long hike at Huangshan than to take a dip in their bathtub with the complimentary bath salts. There's even a cute little kitten out front. Don't even hesitate to book this place and be sure to not only try their tea, but also try their mijiu (rice wine).

GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.
Ggaol01📍 **Location:** Nestled in the heart of Huangshan's Beihai Scenic Area, right next to the entrance of the West Sea Grand Canyon. It's just a few minutes' walk to scenic spots like Qingliang Terrace and Monkey Gazing at the Sea, making it an excellent choice for sunrise and sunset viewing.
🏨 **Accommodation Experience:** For a mountain hotel, the single room I booked wasn't huge, but it was clean and tidy, with ample heating. Do note that due to the hotel's structure, some rooms might have less-than-ideal soundproofing.
🤵 **Service Quality:** The butler service is a major highlight. Butlers proactively plan hiking routes, guide guests to watch sunrise and sunset, provide weather information, and offer items like down jackets and flashlights. The service is described as making you feel ”right at home.”
🍽️ **Dining Experience:** Breakfast is a comprehensive buffet with both Chinese and Western options. The dinner buffet is particularly noteworthy, receiving high praise for its taste considering the mountaintop location. You can eat your fill of boiled prawns! Plus, there are small gifts!
MM221935****Five stars, highly recommended! The Banyan Tree Huangshan Townhouse was an amazing surprise.
The Anhui-style white walls and dark tiles are nestled among the green mountains, and opening the window reveals a picturesque ink wash painting. The environment is serene and healing. The one-on-one butler service was incredibly attentive, quick to respond, and had a great attitude, making the entire stay effortless. The room facilities were astonishingly complete: tableware, washing machine, oven, induction cooker – everything you could need. The capsule coffee machine and complimentary tea were an excellent bonus. The fresh, plump welcome fruit paired with a handwritten welcome letter added a wonderful touch of ceremony. The holiday experience was perfect, and I'll definitely be back!
GGuest UserHidden gem // Cosy homestay with lovely and caring hosts - 10/10 recommend!
We loved our stay at Villa Emerald Valley especially due to:
+ Lovely hosts: super friendly, multi generational, from the neighborhood and always keen to fulfill all our wishes even before we knew them
+ Bright, modern, clean and cosy rooms: Big windows, clean and modern bathroom facilities (great hot shower that is truly needed after a day in the mountain), really comfy beds, water boiler, etc.
+ Nice common area: game room, restaurant, tea table, small pool
+ Tasty food: breakfast, lunch and dinner freshly prepared, many options (also vegetarian), fresh fruits and tea, decent prices -> we loved their tomato&egg, bamboo, qingcai and tofu dishes
+ Smooth communication and great service: quick responses via WeChat, airport pick up (200¥ one way), support with ticket booking for huangshan, carrying luggage, extra fruits, etc.
+ Emerging into the community: as it was tea harvest time, the hosts took us to the tea mountain close by where we could help picking tea leaves
+ Location: huangshan is overall really touristy with a lot of group tourism and thus overall probably not the nicest place to stay for a longer time. However, the home stay, while being close to all main tourist attractions, lies very calm and right beside the mountains where locals live and work, so it does not feel touristy at all and you could easily spend several days there to explore and relax
Also , the hosts can speak some English, so communication for foreigners is not a problem.
AAnonymous UserNestled perfectly atop the mountain, it's just a 15-minute walk to see the sunrise at Monkey Watching the Sea. The room even thoughtfully provides down jackets for sunrise viewing 🌅. After hiking, you can enjoy a bath in your room, a leg massage with the provided massager, and there's even a foot bath bucket and a hot water kettle – absolute bliss for your meniscus and calves! From the moment we checked in, every staff member and butler greeted us cheerfully, making us feel right at home. Both breakfast and dinner were exquisite and delicious, and super photogenic. P.S. Even Jack Ma celebrated Alibaba Day here! All in all, this was a fantastic stay 🎉
