Guangmingding Hotel

The Cloud Room facilities were better than expected. The TV even had screen casting, and there was an Xiao Ai smart assistant. Although there was no air conditioning, only a fan, the temperatures on the mountain top are quite cool in the mornings and evenings. The view and location are excellent, and the Cloud Room has its own private viewing platform. The provided down jacket was very warm. Housekeeper Hu Shan was super nice and very attentive with her service. The buffet food was just ordinary, but on a mountaintop, I can't expect too much, haha. If conditions allow, I highly recommend staying overnight on the mountain; the hiking experience will be much better.

We arrived at the hotel late in the evening, and Manager Hu Shan at the front desk had already prepared our room. Check-in was quick and seamless. She also thoughtfully provided us with the best spot and time to catch the sunrise the next morning. True to her word, she came to remind us early and even guided us, ensuring we didn't miss the beautiful sunrise. Many thanks to the hotel for such thoughtful and enthusiastic service!

Service was excellent, on par with the quality you'd expect from Haidilao. Plus, it's close to great spots for watching the sunrise and sunset.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! It's located in an old observatory building with an amazing location, perfect for watching both sunsets and sunrises. Special shout-out to Hu Shan at the front desk – she was wonderful! Not only did she upgrade us to a room with a great view, but she also provided free breakfast for our child. The experience was truly perfect! She even sent us reminders for the sunset time that day and sunrise time the next morning. And just in case our photos didn't turn out well, she sent us a perfect video taken by the hotel's drone – so thoughtful! We even received a message checking in on us after we'd left the mountain, which was incredibly touching! Thank you so much, Hu Shan!

Beyond its location, there's absolutely nothing else worth recommending about this place. The food is the worst offender, whether it's breakfast or dinner. It's just enough to fill you up, but everything looks so unappetizing. Out of the four hotels I've stayed at on Huangshan, this one is by far the worst. The room felt like a basic guesthouse. The carpet and sofa were visibly dirty. The bathroom shower didn't even have a curtain, so after showering, the toilet would be completely wet. And then there was the blower that started blaring around 4 AM, making an unbearable racket. Watching the sunrise from Bright Summit was an absolute mob scene; the experience was nowhere near as good as what I had at Yuping the day before. Unless you're absolutely set on seeing the sunrise from Bright Summit, I strongly advise against staying here. You can see the sunrise just as well from Lion Peak, Danxia Peak, Aoyu Peak, or the boardwalks behind Yuping Tower.

Booked two months in advance with a group of old friends. Given it's at the mountain peak, the facilities are understandably limited! The scenery at Bright Summit is absolutely beautiful, and a big thank you to Fang Chunmei for her assistance, providing weather forecasts, sunset and sunrise times, and more! We had a wonderful weekend.

The hotel room wasn't big, but it was clean and tidy. The bedding was dry and not at all damp, so I slept very comfortably. Right outside the window was the Bright Summit viewing platform. After dinner, the crowds thinned out, and I had the whole Bright Summit to myself, enjoying the stunning scenery. In the morning, I even saw the sunrise over a sea of clouds – absolutely beautiful – and had a close encounter with a group of monkeys. The room didn't have air conditioning, but there was an electric fan, and the temperature at night was pleasant. The staff were attentive; they warned me about the many insects on the mountain and reminded me to close the windows. They also proactively suggested sightseeing routes and mentioned that down jackets were provided in the room. Breakfast was also decent. I highly recommend this place to everyone!
