New hotel- great value for those travelling to Ipoh. You’ll need a vehicle to move around or at least use grab. The only thing I wanted to comment is that the staff should mask up, especially if they’re sick. When I checked in, the staff looked really sick and had snot hanging on his nose. All these happened while handling my check in. It was traumatising for me. The hotel should provide hand sanitisers too.
The room is comfy however the beds are a bit too hard. Each need should come with two pillows, even those single beds.
We had a great 3 days 2 nights stay at Sunway Lost World Hotel 🤍 The room was super spacious and felt quite new, which made the stay really comfortable. The hallway is a bit older, but it didn’t affect our overall experience.
Loved the small details in the room too, the plugs come with USB charging ports.
Hospitality from all the staff was excellent, everyone was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We also got free 2-night night park and hot spring tickets, plus 35% off day park tickets, which was such a good deal.
Breakfast was so-so, but okay lah. Nothing fancy, but still decent enough to start the day.
Honestly, at least 2 days are needed to properly enjoy everything because one day can be quite tiring. We also highly recommend adding the RM25 Malayan Express Lane. It really helps save time and lets you enjoy more rides (both water and dry attractions).
Overall, a very enjoyable and value-for-money stay. Would definitely recommend 👍
Reasons for the low service rating:
1. Host did not initiate contact with me regarding booking information. I have to send them a message to inquire for a booking that I had already paid for.
2. Host requires a RM200 deposit which my friend who had booked with a different host at the exact same location did not demand.
3. After making the deposit payment in the morning at 10.30am and providing all other information requested, host did not respond to provide any additional information such as unit number and pin code for to retrieve access card.
4. At 5pm when I had finally arrived at the building, I still had not received any form of communication from the host. I had attempted to call their service line (+601157651449) but no one responded to the 6 calls that I had made.
5. At the mailbox area, I had also overheard another visitor that was also facing similar issue where the pin provided to her was not working and that she was also not getting response from the host.
6. Host offered late checkout that I did not need as I was departing early morning the next day.
The building is relatively new but the number of lift does not cater to the residents, there are many occasions where we had to skip multiple lift rides as it was overcrowded. The unit itself is clean with basic amenities.
This is a very new hotel apartment. It's fully equipped with pots, pans, an induction cooker, microwave, refrigerator, and hairdryer. The only thing missing is a washing machine, but all other essential in-room facilities are there. The room is quite spacious; we booked a two-bedroom apartment. At around 140 Malaysian Ringgit per night during the May Day holiday, it offered great value for money. It was more than enough space for our family of three, with one king-sized bed and two single beds. The living room had a sofa, and surprisingly, the TV even had Mango TV and Tencent TV! 😂
The infinity pool on the hotel's top floor isn't huge but is very tastefully designed. There's also a co-working space specifically for digital nomads, and the gym is excellent. The garden on the second floor is beautiful both day and night.
The hotel itself isn't far from the city center. It's about 6-8 MYR by Grab from the train station, and roughly the same to the Mural Street. To Perak Cave and Mirror Lake, it's about 8-10 MYR, making it very convenient to get around.
The only issue is that since the apartment is quite new, Grab's current pick-up/drop-off point is located at the main entrance on the main road. If you have a lot of luggage, you might need to ask the driver to go around to the reception area at the back of the apartment.
If you’re looking for a stay that blends comfort, convenience, and a touch of luxury right in the heart of Ipoh, this hotel is definitely one to consider.
Positioned in one of the city’s most strategic locations, it offers a premium experience by Ipoh standards—well-appointed rooms, quality dining options, and service that makes your stay feel effortlessly smooth. What truly sets it apart is its direct connection to one of Ipoh’s largest shopping malls, giving you instant access to retail, food, and entertainment without even stepping outdoors.
Even better, you’re right in the middle of town. From here, many of Ipoh’s iconic attractions, local eateries, and charming old-town streets are just a short walk away. Whether you’re in town for food hunting, café hopping, or a relaxed getaway, this spot puts everything within easy reach.
A perfect base to explore Ipoh—where comfort meets convenience, and the city is right at your doorstep.
I had a wonderful and peaceful stay at Tambun Retreat Ipoh. The place is very quiet, relaxing, and surrounded by beautiful nature, which makes it perfect for a short getaway away from the busy city. The room was clean, comfortable, and well prepared when we arrived. I really enjoyed the calm atmosphere and the greenery around the property. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was a lovely and relaxing stay. I would definitely recommend Tambun Retreat to everyone.
Location is great as walking distance to Parkson Mall and Restaurants around the row of shops opps and beside the hotel. Breakfast selection not bad with Asean and Western choices. Parking lane a bit difficult esp at the corner areas. Free parking at the basement and to tip TnGo or debit or credit Card before driving out of the hotel. Nice view of the misty mountain side in the early morning. Room is not sound proof so can hear if baby crying or kids screaming or making loud noises next to your room. Overall a good place to stay.
New hotel so everything is nice and clean. Room size is huge enough and doesn’t feel cramped. Would totally book this hotel again the next time im in Taiping
The Onsen is right by the theme park making access very easy. The two bedroom apartment was spacious, clean and with a balcony overlooking the park, as seen in the picture is. I recommend especially if coming to the park
Really nice and comfortable house to stay with family and friends. We can see the lost world of tambun park from the balcony. Can see the fire show at night too. To go to the park just 2 minutes away. The convenience store, bila bila mart just at the ground floor. The instructions to check-in is really details and easy to understand.

We had a lovely stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut 🤍 The resort is peaceful and surrounded by nature perfect for a short family getaway to unwind from city life. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, and waking up to the greenery and sea view was truly refreshing. What we enjoyed most was how kid-friendly the resort is. The kids had so much fun with the pools and outdoor spaces, and we could actually relax knowing they were happy and occupied. Breakfast was good with a decent variety, and the staff were consistently warm, polite, and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience for both adults and kids. A great choice for families looking for a calm beach resort vibe. We’ll definitely consider coming back
The room was awesome! The view so nice. Can see whole lost world of tambun from balcony. The amenities all good except cannot cook so cooking utensils is nkt provided. But pinggang, mangkuk sudu all ada. In term of amenities, all satisfied.
Service was excellent. The resort was really beautiful and peaceful. You really feel like you're not even in Malaysia at all! The breakfast was really good! Had a wide selection of western and local delights. And it's ala carte buffet so they cook it whenever you order! Drinks are complimentary in your room. Jeff cellar was amazing but do note there's a dress code and it's set meal and dining will take 2.5hrs. Surprising I was not bitten by any mosquitoes. But the spring water in the room was not hot enough... the pool was a little dirty which I feel can be improved... overall though a very nice experience and will definitely come back again!
