This hotel is super convenient for getting around, and having its own parking lot means zero stress if you're driving. The rooms are spacious and spotless, with all the amenities you could ask for. Plus, each room has a private balcony where you can wake up to stunning views of rolling mountains and the lake – it's incredibly soothing and refreshing.
The hotel's facilities are really thoughtful, too. The breakfast buffet offers a great variety, and they even have a dedicated shuttle service to and from West Street. The staff are attentive and provide excellent service, and the overall atmosphere is quiet and elegant. It's perfect whether you're traveling with family or friends. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Yangshuo!

QpeipeiChoosing the Past & Present Hotel for my Yangshuo trip was absolutely the right decision! It's right by the Yulong River, so when you open the window, you're greeted by mountains and flowing water, with bamboo rafts drifting past – it's like living inside a traditional Chinese ink painting. The room was clean and comfortable, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering an incredible view. The bedding was soft, the toiletries smelled lovely, and the Dyson hairdryer was a definite plus.
The housekeeper was attentive and always available when needed, without being intrusive. The breakfast was varied and delicious, especially the Guilin rice noodles. In the evening, they even offer a complimentary sweet soup. The infinity pool and large lawn are perfect for photos. The location is both quiet and convenient, with free parking. My entire stay was relaxing and rejuvenating. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Yangshuo. Highly recommend!

Five-star rating plus 9 photos for my favorite B&B and its lovely hostess! Our family trip to Guilin Yangshuo this time had its ups and downs with the weather. It didn't rain as forecasted, but it was incredibly hot during the day. We ended up spending a lot of time at the B&B, but we had an absolutely wonderful experience. First off, the guesthouse was spotless, and everyone's service was incredibly kind and thoughtful. We booked the New Chinese Suite, which had large floor-to-ceiling windows. In the afternoon, we were even treated to an afternoon tea. After resting, we rented electric scooters from the B&B and went cycling along the Ten-Mile Gallery, which was fantastic. The highlight was definitely after dinner, enjoying the hostess's bartending skills at the B&B's bar. She's beautiful, has a cheerful personality, and makes excellent cocktails. We kept enjoying drink after drink into the evening. Next time when it's cooler, I'll definitely be back to Yangshuo for rafting and to stay at this B&B again. See you then!

Guest UserWe had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Guilin.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. They regularly checked if we needed anything and made us feel truly valued throughout our stay.
The breakfast was extensive, with a great variety of fresh, high-quality food to choose from every morning.
One of the highlights was the spa. We enjoyed a traditional Thai massage on two consecutive days because it was simply that good!
We were also pleasantly surprised by the hotel’s laundry service. The lovely lady who took care of our laundry did an amazing job, and everything was perfectly clean, fresh, and dry the very next day. Her kindness and dedication really stood out.
This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so comfortable and memorable.
Greetings from the Netherlands!

kevinancy123Right by the Li River, surrounded by stunning mountains and water. The room offered beautiful views and was very comfortable. The highlight was the excellent service – when my child accidentally spilled juice, the front desk immediately replaced it for free, which was incredibly thoughtful. Check-in was very professional; they proactively introduced nearby attractions and important tips, and even gave us a souvenir when we left. When dining at the restaurant, the staff genuinely checked if the food suited our taste and offered to adjust it if not. What's more, when we made purchases within the hotel, the staff would actively guide us to the most cost-effective options. The room was clean and bright, and overall, the experience was fantastic. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Guilin. Oh, and the hotel's travel photographer was also great – the photos turned out beautifully and helped us capture wonderful memories from our trip.

Service: This guesthouse is located in Xingping Ancient Town, close to the high-speed train station. They offer a complimentary and very friendly pick-up service. The business van used for pick-ups was clean and spacious, and they provided a dedicated pick-up for each guest, which felt very exclusive. The staff were incredibly friendly; when we arrived at 9 AM and hadn't had breakfast, they kindly offered us a complimentary meal. We were also able to check in early, which was the first time I've ever experienced such accommodating service.
The hotel itself is beautifully designed. The courtyard area is a renovated old building from the late Qing Dynasty, showcasing traces of time and history, making it perfect for photos. The rooms in the newly built main building are very spacious, with large, clean bathrooms and expansive mountain views that are absolutely stunning.
The public facilities are excellent, including a beautiful courtyard, a loft, and a swimming pool. There are also many fruit trees in the yard. You could easily spend an entire day at the hotel without getting bored.

YueyingsenlinA heartfelt recommendation for anyone visiting Yangshuo!
This hotel is perfectly situated along the Yulong River within the Ten-Mile Gallery, and its overall environment is simply impeccable. Open your window to an endless view of karst peaks, surrounded by mountains and rivers. The courtyard boasts lush greenery, and there's a viewing terrace and a swimming pool. Every corner offers a picturesque spot for photos. Unlike the bustling West Street, this entire space is tranquil and therapeutic. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, ensuring an undisturbed night's sleep. The in-room amenities are comprehensive, with a smart home system and TOTO brand bathroom fixtures, providing a wonderful living experience. If you're looking to relax, unwind, and escape the city noise, this is the perfect place.
Its location is another huge plus, making getting around incredibly convenient. You can rent an electric scooter right outside to explore the Ten-Mile Gallery, and the Yulong River bamboo rafting dock is within walking distance. Attractions like the Big Banyan Tree, Moon Hill, Ruyi Peak, Silver Cave, and Impression Sanjie Liu, as well as West Street, are all just a short drive away. For those driving, there are EV charging stations and free parking spaces, making both cycling and driving stress-free and simplifying your travel itinerary.

QielieluoliSuch a satisfying stay in Yangshuo! It's within walking distance to West Street, and relatively close to the Ten-Mile Gallery and Guilin Romance Park, making it super convenient for taxis, self-driving, or rental cars.
The room was very spacious and stylish, with a balcony directly overlooking the beautiful river and mountain views. The bedding was comfortable, and everything was clean. The hotel also has a 'Sky Mirror' viewing platform on the 9th floor, which is fantastic for photos!
Hotel facilities include a restaurant, gym, outdoor pool, and a kids' play area, making it perfect for family trips.
The breakfast offers a wide variety of Chinese and Western options, with the Guilin rice noodles and wontons being particularly good. We also enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea with friends!

Guest UserSugar House was one of the highlights of our trip to China. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had chosen somewhere special.
The hotel is beautifully designed, blending contemporary luxury with its historic surroundings in a way that feels both unique and peaceful. Our room was spacious, stylish and extremely comfortable, with stunning views over the karst landscape. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring Yangshuo.
The food was outstanding throughout our stay. Breakfast offered a great selection of both Chinese and Western options, and every meal we had at the hotel restaurant was beautifully prepared using excellent local ingredients. Everything was consistently excellent and a real highlight of our stay.
What really elevated our experience, however, was the exceptional service. Every member of staff was warm, welcoming and genuinely eager to help. They assisted us in arranging transport and offered excellent recommendations for exploring the surrounding area, making everything effortless.
The location was perfect for us—peaceful and secluded, yet within easy reach of Yangshuo’s incredible scenery. We spent the day rafting on the Yulong River, visiting Fuli Bridge, Moon Hill and Xingping, before returning to relax by the beautiful riverside pool each evening. It was the ideal balance of adventure and tranquillity.
Sugar House is much more than a luxury hotel; it is a destination in its own right. We left wishing we had booked an extra night and would not hesitate to return. It is a truly exceptional place that we will remember for a very long time.
