I booked quite late, so only the lower-floor sea view rooms were available. Even though the hotel facilities are a bit old, it offers great value for money. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves at night was lovely. The hotel provides WeChat-based Chinese customer service, which made communication very convenient. The room was a Japanese-style room with a tatami mat. It was a bit firm, but it was a unique experience and quite nice. On the ninth floor, there's a public bath and private onsens. You can book a time for the private onsen with the front desk in advance. Soaking in the bath while enjoying the sea view was fantastic. The front desk also provided yukata (bathrobes) for guests to choose from. The only downside was that hairdryers were only available in the public bath and private onsens, which was a bit inconvenient. For transfers to and from the high-speed train station, you can book a pick-up/drop-off time on [platform name, e.g., WeChat, Xiaohongshu]. Otherwise, trying to drag luggage up the mountain road is impossible. There aren't many restaurants near the hotel by the sea; you have to climb a 15-minute mountain road closer to the high-speed train station to find eateries. Convenience stores are also near the train station, requiring a 20-minute uphill walk. I recommend buying anything you need beforehand and then taking the shuttle back to the hotel.

It’s a very charming place with a real wabi-sabi atmosphere - simple, quiet, and full of nostalgic beauty. Quite old-fashioned, but well maintained. This spot became popular on a Russian platform, so there are many tourists from Russia ( me as well) . When I visited the onsen, there were seven people in total - all Russian girls. Overall, it doesn’t stop you from having a great rest. However, it’s not really suitable for a honeymoon, as my husband and I were separated the whole time — there are no mixed onsens for men and women, probably because the place is now mostly visited by foreigners. When we checked out, they kindly drove us back to the station. I left with a complete sense of relaxation. Thank you!

The hotel's location is pretty good, about a 7-8 minute drive from Izu-Kogen Station, and it's a fairly typical villa-style hotel. It has three floors in total: two above ground and one below. It seems like it recently reopened after some partial adjustments and renovations. Overall, the cleanliness is good, though there were a few spots on the walls and floors that weren't perfectly clean. The drain in the women's hot spring bath wasn't draining very well, which I hope they can improve, but the hot spring water itself was excellent. In terms of service, I especially appreciate the hotel's shuttle service; it's really convenient for guests. The room has a kettle, which is very handy for Chinese guests, and some delicious tea. The service was very thoughtful. It would be even better if they could offer dining services in the future. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

The hotel offers complimentary beef donburi in the evenings, and there's free ice cream available at the entrance. The room was very clean, and they provide free parking. It's less than a ten-minute drive to the outlet mall. Unfortunately, I missed breakfast because I went to watch the sunrise 🥹 so I can't comment on it.

How do I describe my first impression of Tangoya? When we arrived, the owner picked us up at Izu Kogen Station and immediately took us to Mount Omuro to start our sightseeing. They even took our luggage back to the hotel, allowing us to enjoy a wonderfully relaxed afternoon at Mount Omuro and the Izu Animal Park. Stepping into Tangoya for the first time, I was immediately drawn to the building itself – so cozy, clean, and tidy. The furniture and design details truly showed the thoughtfulness of the hosts. Everywhere you looked was spotless. In the evening, during the blue hour, seeing the lights in our room gave us such a warm feeling, even being in a foreign country. Tangoya definitely played a huge part in our wonderful Izu experience. We had a great night's rest, and the breakfast we ordered for the next day also reflected the owner's careful planning. When it was time to leave, they even took our luggage to Jogasaki Kaigan Station, making our onward journey incredibly smooth. (Eating dinner in Tokyo tonight, we're flying home tomorrow. Wishing the owners all the best and a happy life. We hope to visit again someday!)

It was the best place where my wife and I had ever rested. And the hotel and the whole city of Shimoda is a paradise. We liked absolutely everything. And the hotel employee - Kaori, is an exceptional nature person. She gives her work 200% and is the heart of this hotel. Thanks to her scrupulousness, sensitivity and care, there was a feeling that my mother was taking care of us in the hotel. We will definitely come back again! We advise everyone to visit this city and this beautiful hotel at least once. Visit also Ebisu Island, but treat this place with great respect, please!

Well-equipped rooms and great location, but ruined by smoke odor and poor parking management. Pros: • Well-Equipped Rooms: The rooms themselves are nice and come with a full range of amenities. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided. • Prime Location & Breakfast: Excellent location right by the station and malls. The breakfast was also delicious. Cons: • Heavy Smoke Odor: Despite the good room facilities, the smell of cigarettes was overwhelming in both rooms. We couldn't change rooms, resulting in a headache and a sore throat the next morning. • Parking Issues: Very poor management. Even after paying the initial 600¥, there was no spot reserved when we returned, forcing us to pay an extra 1,200¥ elsewhere.

A simple and calm 2-bedroom apartment that blends naturally into the atmosphere of Asakusa. With its soft tones and minimalist interior, the space offers a comfortable and relaxing stay. Senso-ji Temple is within walking distance, allowing you to experience Asakusa in different moments—quiet morning walks or the beautifully illuminated evening scenery. The nearest station is about a 6-minute walk away, with easy access to Ueno, Tokyo, and Ginza, making it suitable for both sightseeing and business trips. The apartment features a 2-bedroom layout and is suitable for up to four guests. With two separate sleeping areas, it provides a comfortable arrangement for couples or friends traveling together. Designed to be simple yet functional, the space offers a clean and relaxing environment for a “stay like a local” experience. Enjoy both the lively charm of Asakusa and your own private, quiet time— a well-balanced base for your stay in Tokyo. Please note: The room is a maisonette style located on the 3rd and 4th floors. There is no elevator in the building.

Lovely hotel to stay in for a couple of nights. Location is a little bit far from places so it is best to have a hire car to do fuji sightseeing day trips. Right next to 2 conbinis which was great for food options as the restaurant didn’t have any vegan food unfortunately. Super close drive to beautiful waterfall/rive and caves to check out.

🗻 Location: The hotel offers a very clear and beautiful view of Mount Fuji. The scenery is truly stunning. However, the hotel is located a bit far from supermarkets and convenience stores, so having a car would make it much more convenient. 🍽️ Food: On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, there are complimentary light snacks provided, which is a very nice touch. The chef was very kind and attentive, and the food was delicious. Breakfast options were somewhat limited, but the taste was decent. 🧼 Cleanliness: The room was very clean, and the bed was soft, warm, and comfortable. 🧴 Amenities: Guests can freely pick up amenities near the elevator. There is also free hot and cold water available downstairs, which is very convenient. 🧺 Laundry: The washing machine service was slightly expensive. 👩💼 Staff: Most of the staff appeared a bit serious, but they were still professional and provided good service. However, they did not smile much or proactively give recommendations as much as I expected.

XXiaomuMUSI”This trip to Izu Kogen was made particularly memorable because of this B&B. As soon as I arrived at the B&B, the owner's warm welcome made me feel like spring breeze. The owner was very considerate. Not only did he introduce us to the surrounding attractions in detail, but he also gave us a lot of practical travel suggestions. The environment of the B&B is even better. The room is clean and tidy, and the layout is very warm and Japanese, making people feel as comfortable as at home. The public area is also very comfortable, and the hot spring ♨️ is also very suitable for families. It must be mentioned that this B&B is very close to the Jogasaki Coast, and it is very convenient to travel. You can just walk there, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful. When we went back, it rained heavily and the tram stopped running. The owner took the initiative to contact us to help us find a way, and finally sent us to our destination. Thank you very much🥹 In short, this stay experience was great. I will definitely recommend this B&B to my friends around me, and next time I come to Izu Kogen, it will still be my first choice.”👍

CcometdebrisI stayed at Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace for 5 nights booking though Trip.com. Be warned that problems may occur when booking through travel websites such as this one. I booked a standard room with no meals. What I did not know however, was that this reservation did not include any room cleaning services for the entire stay, no taking of garbage or towel replacement, no bed making, nothing at all. When I contacted the travel website to show my disappointment, they immediately contacted the hotel requesting a full refund. I did not expect a full refund for my entire stay. What I did expect, was for someone to acknowledge the fact that this important piece of information should have been indicated someone on the online reservation confirmation. Neither the travel site nor the hotel would acknowledge this. The travel site replied with a response from the hotel, saying that I was a regular guest and knew about this “regulation”. It’s true, I have visited Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace on several occasions when housekeeping services were not included. However, this was clearly indicated on the reservation, and I stayed during the COVID STATE OF EMERGENCY, when it was standard practice for many hotels to exclude cleaning services. My recent stay was at the beginning of August, WHEN THE STATE OF EMERGENCY AND COVID RESTRICTIONS HAD BEEN LIFTED. It is no longer standard practice to exclude cleaning services at hotels in Japan. The hotel stated that I visited the front desk every day to get towels and never mentioned the need to clean the room. This is untrue. I only came to the front dest 2 times during my stay, and this is because room cleaning staff entered my room on 2 occasions, so I was expecting them to clean or take out the trash, but they did nothing and left. I expected them to return, however, they never did. The bottom line is the hotel is responsible for communicating their services to customers, especially after covid restrictions have been lifted. Blaming guests for their lack of communication is completely unprofessional. Now in regards to the hotel itself, I have stayed here on several occasions, I find it to be perfect, mainly because of the location and modest room size. The hotel is conveniently located near Lake Ippeki (Ippekiko) and there is plenty of nature and a few trails in the area. You can step out the door and be on a simple hiking trail within minutes. It’s a very quiet area and very good for children and families. Though the hotel is dated, the rooms are all quite large and include a living room, kitchen with cooking supplies and dishes (but no forks or spoons), a large bath, and both Western and Japanese style bedrooms. Some may be discouraged by the age of the hotel (it’s quite old and could use some renovation), but if you don’t mind that, then I would highly recommend staying here. One point that I need to mention is in regards to the bedrooms. The hotel has replaced their blackout curtains with super thin curtains which allow sunlight to easily shine through. We were woken up at 5:00 am every morning because of the bright sunlight in our room. If you’re a light sleeper, please take note. I wish management would consider this. Also, it’s highly recommended that guests come by car, public transportation is very inconvenient in the area. Overall, Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace is a very convenient place for a reasonable price. I will definitely be staying here again in the future, but hope that they act with a little more professionalism and consider the fact that the covid state of emergency ended long ago.

GGuest UserWe had a truly wonderful stay at Ittouan. The experience was exceptional from beginning to end. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. They noticed us from far away and immediately came to help carry our luggage. One of the staff members, a lovely young lady who spoke excellent English, was especially helpful and made communication very easy. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name, but I would like to thank her again. We booked both dinner and breakfast, and the meals were fantastic. The ingredients were very fresh and the variety was impressive. Every dish was different and beautifully prepared. However, for two women like us, the portions were honestly quite generous — even sharing one meal between two people might have been enough! The location is excellent. The hotel provides a free shuttle to Kawazu Station, which makes it extremely convenient for visiting the Kawazu cherry blossoms. It is also very close to the beautiful coastline, so the surroundings are lovely. Our room had a private onsen bath where we could soak while enjoying the view of cherry blossoms, which was a truly special experience. There is also a larger private bath available by reservation (free of charge). We also tried the hot stone spa, which was incredibly effective in relieving the fatigue after my marathon. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. I would love to come back again in the future, hopefully with my family.

Yyipeng luoAmazing hotel with the Fuji View from the room, don’t have to travel to viewpoints just to see Fujisan. Toilet is nicely segregated and the room is super big and spacious that I can open my luggages freely. The free public bath is amazing with different options for onsen and sauna room. Location is good, right beside Gotemba premium outlet so shopping was very convenient. But if you are not driving, might be difficult for you to get food at night .. Nearest 7-11 is quite a walk as its located deep inside Gotemba premium outlet.

CCtystal LiTurns out, this hotel is where I stayed on my very first trip to Japan! I didn't realize it when I booked, but it hit me after checking in. What a pleasant surprise and a wonderful coincidence! Soaking in the hot springs right on the ocean's horizon, facing the entire Pacific Ocean, the view was expansive, and my heart felt so free. OOsama BoussifThe hotel was located about 3 to 4 minutes walking distance from Shizuoka Station, and there was a 7-Eleven at the base of the hotel, so you could even walk there in your pyjamas because you didn’t have to go outside. The hotel room was nice and spacious enough for two people, and it had all the amenities we needed. The laundry room was really good and was one of the few, if not the only, laundry rooms I encountered where you could pay with cash, card, or even online (Google Pay, Apple Pay, etc.). One thing worth mentioning is that the hotel did not have a smart TV, so YouTube or other streaming services were not available. This is something you sometimes miss when you return to your room early in the evening. This does not require replacing the TV, but simply adding a Google or Android TV dongle, which I would also suggest as an improvement. The only downside of the hotel was that the staff spoke or understood only limited English. In most cases this is manageable, because you do not need much beyond check-in, check-out, sending your luggage, or asking for an iron. However, in my case it involved renting a parking spot. Even though I used translation apps and tried my best to communicate, and the staff also did their best to understand and translate their side, it still did not work out. I ended up renting a parking spot just 2 minutes walking distance from the hotel in a public parking garage. In the end, this was not a problem, as you pay the same fee (1000 yen) for parking either behind the hotel or in the public garage 2 minutes away. However, my suggestion for the hotel would be to provide an English instruction sheet explaining what to do, where to park, and how the parking process works, so that future guests who wish to park will have clear information.

AAnonymous UserHighly Recommended!! Key Point: The hotel includes a one-day admission ticket, allowing access to three attractions within one day: (Cactus Zoo, Izu Granpal Park, and the New York Lighting Museum Garden). We recommend checking in after visiting Mt. Omuro, enjoying a one-night stay with two meals at the onsen (hot spring), and then visiting the above attractions the next day! Perfect for families and couples! We recommend driving or walking to the hotel from Mt. Omuro/the zoo. Environment and Location: The hotel is located next to Mt. Omuro, about a 10-minute walk from the Mt. Omuro Ropeway; it also has a private entrance to the Cactus Zoo (accessible via a gate next to the hotel). The hotel features a terrace and platform with stunning surrounding views, perfect for taking photos, overlooking the sunrise, night views, and Mt. Omuro. Rooms and Facilities: Spacious rooms with a semi-Western, semi-Japanese design. Meals: The hotel offers a Japanese set breakfast and a kaiseki dinner.

YYiyepianzhouhuajingtaoThis is a very comfortable resort and spa hotel. It has a huge footprint and a typical American hotel style. The rooms are comfortable, and the balconies come with private hot spring baths that are kept at a constant temperature 24/7 with flowing hot water. It's a wonderful blend of Japanese onsen culture – meticulous yet incredibly relaxing – allowing you to enjoy a hot spring experience without even leaving your room. The breakfast is just standard for a five-star hotel, nothing as impressive as what you'd find at a Japanese hotel. The hotel is quite far from Shuzenji Station, but thankfully there's a shuttle bus available at platform 8 of the bus terminal.

MM37058****This is a fantastic hotel, perfect for a relaxing getaway, a relaxing break, or a relaxing retreat. It's located near Izu-Okawa Station, about a 10-minute walk with luggage. You can also email the front desk in advance to arrange a shuttle. We arrived a little after 1 a.m., and they let us check in early, which we were very grateful for! The hotel has two large baths. Once you enter, lock the door, and the entire area is yours—essentially a private bathhouse. Both indoor and outdoor, they both have water quality inspection reports! We booked a one-night stay with two meals, and it was not only incredibly satisfying, but the food was also delicious! I've previously stayed at Kaishu Onsen in Wakayama and Kannawa Onsen in Beppu, but the hot springs here are a whole other experience. In short, Isari is better than just shutting down and taking a bath!
