Very close to the airport, so getting a taxi was super convenient. The hotel staff were really warm and attentive, with someone on duty 24/7. The room was clean and comfortable, the heating worked great, and the bathroom was bright and spacious. The bedding was soft and comfy too. Breakfast was decent enough; can't be too picky when you're traveling for work.
I had a pleasant stay at A&O Hostel Budapest. The service was good and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Luggage storage facilities are available, which was very convenient. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free experience.
Stayed Feb 2026 for 1 night. As most reviewers have already indicated, the room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Although we were assigned a room facing the Keleti station and the main road, it was surprisingly not too noisy. We could hear the occasional police siren but it did not disturb our sleep.
One downside - we checked out early and wanted to store our luggage; we were surprised that it was a paid service (by a private operator on the hotel’s premises). The cost is high: renting a ‘XL size’ locker for 4 hours cost 14 euros if I remember correctly
I have stayed at Danubius chain in Budapest before, Helia which is a spa hotel. This is more of a business location being beside the Puskas Arena and the M2 subway line and the 1 Tram line which gives multiple transit options if not using a hire vehicle or taxi. Breakfast was very decent, service attentive and professional. The room was clean with a few minor issues ie bathtub not draining quickly, furniture showing age (I understand so not an issue) and the facilities very good for my purpose - large gym with all required equipment, smaller pool but still permitted laps and a sauna all of which I used each day. As my last day had me leaving before breakfast, I was provided with a takeaway bag. All much appreciated. Front desk very helpful and kind. I enjoyed my stay very much.
Nice hotel in a good location. The food and amenities were okay, but the staff weren’t very welcoming. The phone in my room wasn’t working, so I had to call reception on my mobile, and it took quite a while for someone to pick up. When I mentioned the issue, the receptionist just said “okay” and didn’t offer an explanation, he just asked what I wanted. The second time I called, the person who picked up said she couldn’t hear me, told me to come down to reception, and then hung up.
I was just glad my stay was short because I didn’t feel very welcome.
So incredibly satisfied! Honestly, there's no need to pay extra for those specific rooms on the 4th floor – I think the 'blind box' approach works great! We were in room 210, and it felt like Fishermen's Bastion was right there, practically kissing our window. It was so close we even worried if tourists downstairs could see into our room. Breakfast was rich and plentiful, and getting around was super easy with the #16 bus stop right outside the door. The service was excellent too; they even let us check out an hour late!
Good location and convenient. Public transport is within 100-300 meters. Heroes square is hardly 300 meters. Rooms were clean and comfortable only thing missing was the electric kettle and complimentary coffee/tea and water. Bar opens 24/7 with many options of drinks and coffee but very limited options for food. Breakfast was good.
All round the Corinthia Budapest is a great hotel with good prices and excellent service from very friendly employees throughout the hotel. Excellent spar. Relaxed lounge areas.
The bedroom on fifth floor was very nice clean and comfortable. The heating system is set at a high temperature which can become quite uncomfortable in the middle of the night. Loved the Christmas decorations and Christmas Sunday brunch with free flowing beverages.
Very tasty food in the restaurant. The only issues we would highlight is the problem with the hotel being so big that the breakfast restaurant gets very crowded with delayed self service causing the food to become cold by time you sit down. This is also due to many guests leaving the Bain Marie food service warmer lids open as they are rushing to get food. Also the coffee is machines are not good quality or require servicing as the coffee was warm or cold once milk or cream was added. This was the case everyday over 5 days we never got a hot coffee.
Hot food and drinks are very important and this was unfortunately the only let down during our stay.
Hence the reason for a lower review score.
Aside from this I would recommend the hotel.
Location is good, very close to Buda Castle funicular and Chain bridge. Some of the popular tourists attractions can be reached by walking for about 20 mins or more, otherwise there is a bus stop 2 mins away from the hotel. The room is clean & decent size although the decors & furniture are a bit dated. All staff especially on the reception desk are accommodating, approachable & professional. Breakfast buffet is just ok.
This hotel is great if you're just passing through, as it's conveniently located near Keleti train station. However, it's a bit far from the city center. Luckily, Budapest has excellent public transport. We bought a 24-hour pass, so it only took about 20 minutes to get downtown.
The room itself was pretty standard and very clean. But I have to mention the noise issue. I specifically chose a room with no view, not facing the busy main street. Yet, the inner courtyard was still noisy, and I particularly disliked the humming sound of machinery. Honestly, car noise would have been preferable. So, if you're sensitive to noise, I highly recommend checking it out beforehand.
The front desk strongly recommended adding breakfast, and at 17 euros per person, it wasn't overpriced. It saved us the hassle of finding a restaurant early in the morning, and the variety was excellent. I definitely recommend trying it!
