It is a film studio, and the streets of old Shanghai are very beautiful. There are few people there on weekdays, so you can experience the feeling of being in Shanghai at that time. If you are lucky, you can meet the crew rehearsing. 😎
Recommended to visit for tourist. It's a great experience to travel back in time with all the old looking buildings and banners. Many people shoot wedding photos there and the place look beautiful.
You can take many good photos there and there is also a place where you can watch a short performance performed by locals. Also a small building where you can see the old things. 👀
They also have a working tram where you can have a ride. It's slow though but it's a fun experience. Very recommended place. 🍂✨

Time Travel to Old Shanghai
#meetshanghai Established in 1992, Shanghai Film Park was created for the purpose of providing scenery for film productions. It offers a glimpse into 1930s Shanghai, and makes for a fun afternoon out - especially if you want to pose for some photographs!
In terms of replica architecture, you can find: Nanjing Road, Shikumen buildings, Zhejiang Steel Bridge and more.
There didn’t seem to be a huge amount of other activities or locations open - many of the shop fronts we saw were closed. And in the small area of the park that we explored / took pictures in, we saw only one cafe open for business.
Find it: Shanghai Film Park, Chedun Town
Michaela (@uncoveringcities) Back to film history
The Shanghai film park shows how Shanghai looked like in the 1930s. There are not much activities or information about the area, nevertheless it is nice to walk around and get an impression of former times.
For me the nost impression part is a reconstruct.ion of a railwaystation with an old steam train. An old telephone shop and different other shops are arranged very well, too.
Funded and built by the Shanghai Film Group Corporation, the Shanghai Film Park is pretty much a large playground for Instagrammers in Shanghai. The backlot features architecture inspired by 1930s and 40s Shanghai, in an area that covers around 43 hectares, and features elements such as the classic shikumen buildings, the Zhejiang steel bridge, and a train station.⠀
⠀
Many movies have been filmed here, including Kung Fu Hustle and The Mummy 3!⠀

Michaela (@uncoveringcities) Travel back to 1945, indulge in a 10,000 square meter immersive manor to your heart's content
🈺 Title: The Feast of Escaping the Cage - Grand Immersive Drama 'New World Manor' 6-Hour Banquet Edition
📍 Address: No. 366 Yingjia Road, Songjiang District
🌟 A full 6 hours! 30+ professional trained NPCs to play with you! When it comes to the hottest immersive scripts in the Magic City, 'New World Manor' is definitely among the top‼️
🌟 This immersive drama takes place inside the Shanghai Film Park, where a whole Mahler Manor is rented, including 4 villas, 2 theaters, and 1 wharf, a huge space of 10,000 square meters, letting you fully indulge in the play‼️
🌟 The drama is divided into two parts: the first part is interactive tasks between players and NPCs, and the second part is the actors' performance. There is a banquet in between, giving you plenty of time to take drama photos in the manor‼️
🌟 The script is divided into 3 factions: Intelligence, Commerce, and the Green Gang. You can choose your faction when buying tickets, and you will draw a role within your faction on site, followed by a costume change, some of which have hidden identities‼️
🌟 Each faction will have a separate villa with three floors. The task of the Intelligence is to investigate cases, the Commerce is to make money, and the Green Gang is to collect information‼️
🌟 At the final curtain call, all NPCs will chase the car and wave goodbye to us. As if we were on a time train, leaving the era of 1945, it's quite emotional‼️
🌟 There will be a special bus shuttle for the theater, at the entrance of the public toilet at No. 10 Wusheng Road, with a ticket price of 20 yuan per seat, super convenient‼️
This spring, head to Che Dun to trace the footsteps of 'The Pursuers'
This place was once one of China's top ten film and television bases, with the old Shanghai neighborhood atmosphere, as well as the behind-the-scenes secrets of filmmaking. Take a walk through the traditional streets of Shanghai from the 1930s. The recently popular 'The Pursuers', let's go see the place where Wei Ruolai once lived!
Malè Villa: The famous Malè Villa is a European-style courtyard building, where film and television works such as 'Romance in the Rain' and 'Blossoms' were shot.
Renji Hospital: The 'Little White House' on Fenyang Road, now the Shanghai Museum of Arts and Crafts, but with a difference, now houses the Shanghai Film and Television Costume and Prop Museum.
Qibao Street: It is the home of the wandering Wei Ruolai, who never wants to move away. It is a historic Jiangnan water town that presents a culture that is both new and quaint.
Hongfang Tailor Shop: It is the place where Old Xu has been running for many years, and where Tu Nan took Wei Ruolai to order a suit.
Waibaidu Bridge: Almost all film and television dramas with an old Shanghai background feature the Waibaidu Bridge, and 'The Pursuers' is no exception. The actual bridge looks a bit rough, but it's really photogenic, absolutely stunning!
Special Reminder: There are few types of food available in the park, so you might want to bring some snacks.
Shanghai Film Park is a great place to enjoy the spring outing
🌠 A relaxing destination where you can travel back to the scenes of movies and TV shows in a second. There is also a costume experience, making it a great spot for immersive photo-taking. It's usually not crowded on weekdays, offering a comfortable and leisurely experience.
🎇 The 206-meter Time Avenue showcases a miniature of the park, recreating old Shanghai from a century ago. You can ride the tram, get familiar with the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, wander through the Shikumen, visit the Shanghai Grand Theatre's Paramount, enjoy fantastic performances, see the restored scenes from the drama 'New Youth', and find the filming location for 'Romance in the Rain'. There's also the Zhejiang Road Steel Bridge and a rich collection of vintage cars on display near the 16th Pier dockside.
Experience the Old Shanghai vibes here
You’ll not regret spending your day at the Shanghai Film Park, which gives you good old Shanghai vibes without breaking your bank!
You really get to see the evolution of Chinese film over time, and many places that look like they come out from an 80s’ film.
I want to visit Hongkong because I would love to enjoy a traditional Cantonese opera performance that also has lots of history and culture ingrained in it.

Shanghai Chedun Film Park - A check-in spot for the filming of 'Kung Fu Hustle' and 'Romance in the Rain'
The scenic area is not large, and it can be toured in half a day.
Many scenes are being filmed and cannot be entered, which is a bit disappointing.
Saw the familiar scenes from 'Kung Fu Hustle', 'Romance in the Rain', and 'Lust, Caution'.
The bridge is already rusty, it's been too long.
It's far from the city center, so you have to take a taxi specifically.
There were very few people when I went, giving it an exclusive feel, it would have been nice if there were performances, a desolate film city, but it brought back many childhood memories.
For those who dream of stardom, Shanghai Film Park can fulfill your dreams

Myself and the other teachers were looking for something fun to do as it was my first week in China. So we went to this place called the Shanghai Film Park. It is a movie studio, backlot and historical museum all in one place. It is friendly to travel with family, friends, and colleagues or solo.
Notice the old classic and antique cars. You might find yourself as a movie extra.
Note: I will post again on this attraction with the updated hours open to the public and admission costs. Stay tuned!

A visit to Shanghai film Park.
The experience alone being in a place where movies are being shot is an awesome experience I won’t forget in a hurry. I was lucky to have met at that time a movie being taken concerning wedding or something like that .The park is great and the pictures seems like real people but they are just craft work that looks similarly like humans .I will like to go there over and over if I’m lucky when a movie is being shot again .The quietness I’m the environment is worth going there for e relief and more especially it is a site seeing place that once visited you will like to go there more often without any regret trust me .
Shanghai film park is a little far out of downtown shanghai so not for a quick visit - plan to spend 2 to 3 hours wandering round the sets. The faithfully recreated 1920s Shanghai backgrounds are enchanting.
Whether it is a movie or a TV series, reflecting the old Shanghai style of the 1930s, it must not go to the beach. Shanghai Beach has become a cultural symbol of old Shanghai. Today's Shanghai is already a high-rise building, and it is hard to find the appearance of the beach.
However, in the suburbs of Shanghai, you can also find the way to the beach, this is the Shanghai Film and Television Park in Songjiang District. Shanghai Film and Television Park is located in Chedun Town and is also a scenic spot open to the public. Most of the film and television works on the beaches of the era are taken here.
Many of the film and television works taken here are very familiar, such as "New on the Beach", "Dance with the Wolf", "Love Deep Rain" and so on. As long as the crew is shooting, many actors can be seen in the scenic spot. Many of them are workers who work in nearby factories. When they are at rest, they come to play a role and have an addiction.
The most distinctive feature of Shanghai Film and TV Park is Nanjing Road. It is designed and built according to the Nanjing Road in Shanghai. There are quaint trams in the middle of the road. There are signs on both sides of the shops. Pedestrians wear robes on the streets. The rickshaws are constantly coming and going, just like crossing back to 80 years ago.
Visitors can also take a rickshaw ride and take a walk along Nanjing Road to regain the good old days.
In addition to Nanjing Road, Shanghai Che Dun Film and Television Base is another one worth seeing is the Shikumen Lane group. Located in the middle of Shanghai Film and Television Park, it is an antique architectural complex with the background of the old Shanghai culture in the 1930s. The architectural features blend Western culture with traditional Chinese residential culture.
Now, with the disappearance of Shikumen, Shanghainese living in commercial housing will no longer line up for public kitchens and toilets as in the past; it is no longer possible to dry clothes on the balcony as in the past. I chatted with my neighbors. As for Zhang Ailing and Su Qings women who wear tight cheongsam and American stockings and buy imported rouge pollen from the window, they have already turned into an old dream, which is only visible in nostalgic movies.
Shanghai Film and Television Park is far from the suburbs of Shanghai. Looking at the online evaluation, it is said that the place is very poor, there is no need to visit, but we both agree that many movies are here to capture the scene, it still has the value of existence, and we have already seen many high-rise buildings, lighting, the old Shanghai The heart of exploration is better than everything. After entering the park, we will see the ingenious buildings. We will smile and bet.
The film and television park is not big, but every building is the epitome of a certain era in Shanghai. Although it is Sunday, there is not much traffic compared to other tourist attractions. When I met several couples who were making wedding dresses, I followed the photographer to learn the angle of shooting and take pictures.
I have encountered several crews along the way, and there are many group performances in the queue to receive clothes, to see the introduction, many TV dramas are filmed here, such as "Da Wusheng", "Love is Deep Rain", "Why are you silent?" "On the beach" and so on.
The small trains in the film and television park start from the whole point and are free. You can sit in the queue. The trip is short, but it is a brand new experience. In fact, the feeling in the car, not shooting on the road is more beautiful, but curiosity is worth it. The film and television park may have more satisfied with the girl's girl's heart. Many girls in the paradise wearing cheongsam or Tang suits are in groups of three and take pictures of each other.
In fact, many buildings look super beautiful from the lens, but when you look at it, you will find that it may be a single wall, or just a semi-finished product, there is no way to scrutinize it.
Shanghai Film and TV Park will have a free performance in the building of the Shanghai Grand Theatre at 10:30 in the morning and 1:30 in the afternoon. In fact, the performance is very short, and the actors who give us performances seem to be Wudi, but please be sure to Its really wonderful to go see it.
