"Very nice stay. The room had an unusual configuration more in tune for couples rather than a family. The bedroom is up some stairs and there is a bathtub in front of the bed that is open to below which has a pullout bed and TV. The service was great, the pullout bed was pre-made for our son who was traveling with us and the room was cleaned, tidied with the bed made every night. We paid extra for the morning breakfast which was great and it had a lot of food options beyond the usual continental breakfast offerings. It also had a very nice terrace which we visited in the evening. We were also there during a heat wave and the room was nice and cool with the air conditioning. I would definitely stay there again."

"Response during check-in , fast and efficient despite not having informed which Wi-Fi password. Simple but satisfactory room for this purpose, despite the air conditioner has no command to allow temperature control and /ou other functions (in times running is unacceptable). The breakfast was the best of the stay .... very good. I left the room card on the balcony and I went out. I don't want to return ......"

"The hotel is impressive when you arrive, amidst the greenery, parking lot, and lobby with columns and beautiful flooring. Then you get to the check-in desk and notice that one of the staff chairs is completely ruined. Go up to the bar and restaurant area and notice that the beautiful lobby flooring has disappeared, completely covered in carpeting. Some of it is no longer snug, but creases make it a tripping hazard. You take the elevator to your room, and the hallways ”greet” you with a ”splendid musty smell”—carpeting everywhere, walls with almost plastic/fabric wallpaper, and the rest of it wood. The smell is very strong. You enter the room, and it's half the size of the one you booked. You step out onto the balcony and notice that it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. I ask the front desk about the room and the state of cleaning, and they tell me they don't have rooms like the one I booked, but they offer me the option of changing rooms. I see the second one as very large but with an even more persistent ”stale” smell than the first. I see the third one as smaller than the first but with a less persistent smell. I'm keeping this one. The bed is very comfortable, but the balcony is as dirty as the first one, both on the floor and the bathroom window, the ceiling, and the walls. The bathroom window is impossible to open, the bathroom door has a broken handle, the shower splashes everywhere, the bidet faucet needs fixing, and the bathtub is ”black” (see photo). The cleaning of all the rooms is very basic. The building was built in two phases, the first in 1967. Perhaps it needs a major renovation or at least maintenance and cleaning. The breakfast is average but with little variety for a 4-star hotel. I'm adding a few photos to give you an idea. This hotel has a ”4-star” name, but..."

"Nice, elegant hotel, very warm, comfortable beds. Before breakfast the water in the shower came out cold, something that happened 2 days in a row. There were 2 nights, on the first day breakfast was at a set time and everything went smoothly, on the second day which was Sunday the hotel was full, they didn't set a time for breakfast and it was chaos, people waiting standing up at the bar. Afterwards there was almost nothing to eat, no juices, no glasses, it was a mess, the waiters running around in distress, in short, it wasn't nice. Then, at check-out time, they presented us with a bar bill from the previous day, which we had not even been to, nor had we been there. In other words, they either made a mistake when giving the room number or the guests made a mistake and gave us our room number. In short, it shows some disorganization."

"We arrived early in the pouring rain. We were too early for check-in but luggage was taken with no hesitation. Check-in procedure was undertaken. We returned after the room was available. We had Room 13. Access was via a key pad- no keys necessary. We had a beautiful room with a small terrace area. The kitchen area had everything you would need for a prolonged stay. Microwave, coffee machine and induction hob. There were ample dishes, pots, pans, cutlery and crockery. Everything was so clean and fresh. We had a quiet and undisturbed night. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet but we could not fault the selection available. Cereal, ham, cheese even small pastis de nata (or similar - which were lovely). Checkout was so easy and we were asked if we needed to leave luggage- always a bonus. We had a fabulous stay and we are  so sorry we booked only one night. We highly recommend staying here and we just wish we had used the available facilities more. What an absolutely fantastic place to stay."

"The hotel lies just outside of the sanctuary. The hotel undergoes some renovations. The rooms are of good size, are comfortably furnished and are spotless clean. The hotel is popular with pilgrimage groups. Some free parking is available. The internet connection is reliable. The breakfast is dull and could be more elaborate, missing some variety of fresh fruits and quality cold cuts. ."

"Easy stopover off the A1. Accessible through the services. Simple cold breakfast available, plenty of choice with hot drinks. Room basic but very clean and had everything I needed for my overnight stay. Was able to check in still at midnight after a delayed flight."

"The hotel is located right next to the chapel and there are a few nice restaurants around, a very good choice to have for a short stay to visit Fatima."

"We are happy to have chosen this hotel to stay for 3 nights.  1. Fairly new and trendy design and facilities. Large size rooms that are clean and well equipped.  2. Excellent location to Fatima sanctuary.  3. Staff are courteous and helpful. Special mention to Ms Komal who welcomed and checked us in. She made a good impression and represented Mercure very well.  The hotel must keep good staff like her and trained all to that standard.  4. Very good breakfast selection and warm dishes like eggs cooked to your order.  Highly recommended!"
