We stayed at Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka during our recent family trip and had a generally pleasant stay.
We travelled as a family of four, and the room size was comfortable enough for all of us. The layout was practical and there was sufficient space for luggage and movement. The room itself was clean and reasonably well kept, although the hotel does show some signs of aging, particularly in certain fixtures and furnishings.
The location is fairly convenient, with easy access to parts of the city and not too far from the main attractions. It worked well for our short family visit around Melaka.
One area that could use improvement is the gym, which unfortunately did not appear to be well maintained during our stay. Some of the equipment seemed worn and the overall condition could be better.
Overall, the stay was comfortable and decent for families, especially if you are looking for a reasonably spacious room at a fair price. With some refurbishment and better maintenance of facilities, the hotel could definitely enhance the guest experience further.

The location is close to Kampung Morten, and you can easily walk at a relaxed pace to Jonker Street, which is about 1 km away.
The room was comfortable and clean, with a nice mattress and pillows, strong aircond, hot shower working well, and free WiFi provided.
The view from the higher floors is really nice, you can see Melaka town clearly and even the Straits of Malacca.
The breakfast buffet was decent, not a huge selection but still enough choices to start the day.
The shopping mall downstairs isn’t very interesting, and there aren’t many restaurant options available.
The worst thing here is the lift service, ridiculously slow, sometimes taking more than 10 minutes just to wait for the lift.
The hotel's location is great, within walking distance of Malacca's old town. When I checked in, the Malaysian lady at the front desk collected a 50 RM cash deposit from me (which another front desk staff member refunded when I checked out the next day). Additionally, she charged an extra 28 RM for some unknown fee (Ctrip showed an 8 RM world heritage fee was due). I stayed for two nights, and Ctrip deducted 475.47 RMB upon checkout.
Room 512 faces west, offering an open view of St. Paul's Hill. The room didn't have a safe or slippers, but it did have a refrigerator, toothbrush, hairdryer, wardrobe, and hangers. The air conditioning was central and could be set to a very low temperature.
Upon entering, I accidentally pressed the 'make up room' button next to the door. Later, after I had gone to bed, a staff member rang the doorbell to clean. They were very responsible; I had to get dressed and explain in person that I didn't need the service before they left.

The lobby is impressive, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of choices. The hotel's location is excellent. From the hotel, you can cross the road to Heroes Square (outdoor), walk diagonally across the square, and on your right, you'll see the Sultan's Palace. Slightly to the left is the Santiago Ancient City Gate. After passing through the gate, you can climb the stairs to the St. Paul's Church ruins and enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Then, take the ramp down, passing the Cheng Ho Cultural Museum, to reach the Dutch Square (Red Square), Victoria Fountain, and Christ Church. Dutch Square is situated by the Malacca River, and crossing the busiest bridge leads you to Jonker Street. It's safe to say the hotel is the newest building closest to the old town. However, the service seems to be lacking. The front desk staff are not very efficient; you often see long lines of customers, and when asked for information about the hotel, they only provide one-word answers, appearing unprofessional. There's only one trash can in the guest room, so you have to move it between the room and the bathroom. The bed also slants forward, and when I complained to housekeeping, nothing was done – they completely ignored it, so I had to improvise. Honestly, considering the hotel's facilities and location, the five-star price isn't bad, but factoring in the service, the value for money is just average.
Everything is great except the breakfast situation.. Very limited drink choices. Teh tarik are finished and the dont refill anymore. Cuttleries and glasses also not available. Club lounge food and drinks also limited. When they refill the noodles are gone in few minutes. No time to wait for them to cook another batch which will take longer time. I didn’t visit the club lounge on 2nd day. Very limited drinks at the dinner buffet too. When we requested teh tarik they say only serve during breakfast (which we never tasted as it finished too) 😂 any water supply issue in Melaka?
They can serve free alcohol at the club lounge but couldnt care to serve more drink choices at dinner buffet which we paid more than RM100/pax 👎
We have been to other cheaper hotel but serve varities of drinks and great customer service too. The receptionist never smile. I don’t know why. I have been to Parkroyal Penang and Melaka both have this issues 🤷♀️ I dont know what is wrong with Malaysian hospitality. Maybe they only smile at foreigner 😆

Booked a room with 2 king beds for a 2 night stay w my family.
Pros :
1. Spacious room size
2. Comfy beds
3. Beautiful view (we could see the entire city and our window was facing towards sea)
4. Free Parking
5. 10-15 mins walking distance to the River Cruise
6. No problems with lifts.
Just some additional notes for travellers :
(If) you don’t want room service to clean your rooms bc you don’t mind reusing your towels, you will not be able to receive the complimentary water bottles.
For families with cars, (if) you need to travel back and forth between the hotel and outside, you will always need to stop by the lobby counter to validate your carpark ticket in order to get free parking and it’s only valid for 15 minutes (more than enough time).

Friendly staff. The room is specious with all completed facilities and the hotel has a swimming pool. Parking is ample which is located in front of the hotel. Nice vie to watch sunset from the room.
Good environment, clean and comfortable room for families member.. the hotel located in the middle's of malacca town and full of facilities. The swimming pool outside the hotel building also clean and suitable for kids and adult. Will repeat if come to malacca 🥰🥰

The hotel overall is great, me and my family had good experience there. The rooms are spacious and nice; however, I do expect a larger space for family suite, but the balcony is large.
Complementary parking was given, the car park was a bit doggie to be frank.
One of the greatest highlights for us is the kids playground and kids club. It was huge and nice, my kid has awesome time there. Swimming pool is rather small for the size of the hotel though.
As for the hotel breakfast buffet, well, it was not to our preference. Too much of western, and the taste was far from delicious. Would suggest to add a bit more local delights eg Malay kuih.
Overall a good experience.

The hotel is in a great location and very convenient for getting around. The room was clean and well maintained, making the stay comfortable.
However, the breakfast could be improved with more variety. In addition, the egg station is located outside the main breakfast area, which can be a little inconvenient for guests. It would be better if the egg station could be placed inside the breakfast area.
Overall, it was still a pleasant stay.

GGuest UserGreat hotel for Melaka! Old baba nyonya house converted! Still kept some of the features. They even provided old coins as a token for welcome drinks. Rooms were clean and provided most common amenities! Room a tad small, would be good to provide a coach area. Car park insuffient for all guests but understandable for such prime area, able to find spots in surrounding. The bar kept running out of ingredients for cocktails etc, could improve. The toilet at the lobby could be cleaned more frequently. Breakfasts were generally well, especially the local delicacies!

GGuest UserEstadia Hotel Melaka delivers a pleasant stay with its distinctive heritage-themed décor and warm ambiance. The rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully designed, though some areas may feel slightly worn. Its proximity to major malls and tourist spots makes getting around very convenient. Staff are courteous and responsive, adding to the overall experience. A solid mid-range option for travelers who value character, location, and affordability.
GGuest UserOur stay at Puteri Bay Melaka was great 👍🏼 The location was great because we are able to have a good view of the beach, and it was near food places. The hotel reception and staff were also kind and helpful. Food selection for breakfast was good and the beds were comfortable and had a good sleep 👍🏼👍🏼
The downside was that the toilet was not totally clean as there were strands of hairs sticking out from under the bed. Additionally, there were no toothbrushes provided in the room, and the prayer mat had an odour.
Generally, the stay was good although maybe staff need to ensure the room cleanliness and smell abit more?
I would still recommend the hotel for the comfortable beds and nice view and location beside the waterfront 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
EEddy MeisterI stayed at Asiatic Hotel Melaka and booked the Family Suite with jacuzzi. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with a living area, balcony, and in-room spa bath. While it’s not a true duplex layout, the suite still felt roomy and comfortable for families or groups.
The jacuzzi was definitely the highlight – perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city. Amenities such as WiFi, smart TV, minibar, and toiletries were all provided, making the stay convenient.
Parking is available in front of the hotel, free but limited on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you arrive during peak hours, you might need to circle around to find a spot.
Location is excellent – close to major attractions like Jonker Street, A Famosa, and shopping malls (Dataran Pahlawan, Mahkota Parade). There are plenty of eateries and convenience stores nearby, so dining is not an issue even though the hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant.
One small downside is the soundproofing; you can sometimes hear noise from the hallway. The lift is also on the smaller side, so it can get busy during peak times.
Overall, Asiatic Hotel Melaka is a great choice if you want a spacious suite with jacuzzi, free parking, and a central location. It’s comfortable and good value, especially for families or friends traveling together.

GGuest UserOverall, it was a pleasant stay. The room was clean, but the toilet facilities need upgrading. The staff were polite and helpful. However, there were minor issues with the pool facilities, as no towels were provided. Still, it was a good experience and worth staying for the price.
