This was my first trip to Japan's Tohoku region. The Richmond Hotel Morioka is visible right after exiting the JR station. When traveling in Japan, I generally choose hotels near JR stations for their unparalleled convenience in dining, accommodation, transportation, and shopping. I'm especially pleased with the Richmond Morioka. The rooms are slightly larger than hotels in other cities, and the floor-to-ceiling windows make them feel bright and airy. The cleanliness and facilities were satisfactory, and the front desk staff provided excellent service. The check-in/check-out times were better than in other areas. The bedding was very comfortable, and the hotel's soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. If I visit the Tohoku region again, I'll definitely use Morioka as my base, and the Richmond will undoubtedly be my top choice.

Guest UserA 10-minute walk from Morioka Station, it's not super close, but the price is great. They offer coffee and tea, which is a nice touch. Plus, there's a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk. I'd recommend staying here!

Guest UserThe location is beautiful and the views from the car park assured us we had chosen well. Check in was helpful and all facilities were fully explained at this time, allowing us to book our dining time.
The room was comfortable and traditional; the view, amazing! With an afternoon of sunshine, time was taken to enjoy the view in a temperature controlled setting. There was a beautiful tea set and tea provided along with some complementary snacks and water. The toiletries provided were lovely and I shall certainly be looking to purchase these for my home.
Dinner was a Chinese style buffet, with an excellent selection of dishes. Barbecues for the table and delicious sashimi and hand prepared sushi. Soups, stews, salad and more! To follow was an assortment of cakes and ice creams. Staff were very helpful and polite and the food was filling and delicious. We then retired to the hotel bar where we were again greeted by a lovely member of staff.
Upon return to our room, futons had been prepared and the room made ready for sleep. These were surprisingly comfortable.
Breakfast was also delicious with a huge array of dishes to choose from. Check out was simple and staff were helpful and polite.
I will definitely be returning!

Guest UserThis Toyoko Inn is a bit far from JR Morioka Station, requiring a walk through an underpass, so it's not the most convenient. Unlike other Toyoko Inns, there are no welcome drinks or ramen offered in the evenings. Breakfast is also very standard, and the rooms are quite small. Overall, it's an average experience.

Perfect, I can only say perfect! It's affordable and excellent. These small, beautiful ski resorts in Japan are truly hidden gems. Their facilities are very well-maintained, and they offer shuttle services to Shimokura, Appi, and the train station. You can even get discounted Appi ski tickets if you buy them at the hotel. I can't praise this place enough!

Anonymous UserThis hotel just opened, so it's very new and super close to the station. Plus, if you walk another 5 minutes, there's a 24-hour Aeon supermarket, which is incredibly convenient. They also have a free public bath and lounge open until 1 AM! It was so good that I booked another night for my return trip!

Anonymous UserOverall, the hotel is great and perfect for those who want to focus on skiing. However, the hotel is a bit old and the soundproofing isn't the best. On the positive side, the staff are very friendly and happy to help with any issues. The facilities are also well-equipped and suitable for families, with many amenities and ski lesson packages for children.

I stayed at this place during my hike through the Michinoku coastal trail. This is a good choice before you attempt Kurosakiso and Kitayamazaki coast. This can be reached easily from Horinai station. Cross the big bridge and walk a bit more, you can see the sign to the left. The hotel has nice indoor and outdoor onsen. Many locals come here to use the onsen. They probably have annual or life membership to use the onsen. It is a nice opportunity to chat with some of them. When I was there, it was raining and hence I could not enjoy the view, however, using onsen after hiking in the rain was quite relaxing. On a clear day, the ocean can be seen from the room window. Dinner can be ordered and is quite good at a reasonable price. The next day, the hotel shuttle dropped me to the train station which was quite nice, I did not have to walk in rain.

AppearThis is a highly recommended and convenient hotel right in Morioka. The location is perfect: it's situated directly across from the train station, easily accessible via the underground walkway. It's also near Kaiunbashi, one of Morioka's signature spots, offering a great scenic view. For ultimate convenience, there's a 7-Eleven located right on the ground floor of the hotel.
Beyond the location, the staff are very nice and incredibly helpful. The lobby provides an impressive array of amenities, more generous than many hotels I've visited. The room size is comfortable, and the bathroom is spacious, meeting the excellent standards of the Daiwa Roynet brand.

Self-driving car ありで utilization. Parking lot は no material.
It is a small hotel, but there are a number of rooms or more parking lots, so it seems that you cannot park your car.
A system where you can give a card key at check-in and put it in a box when you go out and leave it as it is. You don't need to leave it at the front desk when you go out. Simple but no trouble.
It is a little far from the nearest Ichinoseki station and the downtown area in front of the station (?), but it is a distance that cannot be walked. Is it a little closer from the east exit? It seems to be within the taxi first ride fare range.
There are seven eleven and drug stores (food super type goods) within 3 minutes walk of the inn, and there is no particular inconvenience in shopping.
The room doesn't feel that big, but it has everything you need to stay as a business and it's a good impression. There is no particular concern about beds and bedding.
WIFI speed is no problem, and the sound of other rooms is not particularly heard and comfortable. Best environment if you don't ask for excessive service.
Free breakfast is a system that takes bread, small bowls, yogurt (Danon), and beverages by yourself. It's simple, but if you don't need ”guts from the morning!”, you can even feel that it's just right.
The price is the lowest among the hotels near ichinoseki station, and there is no shortage of service if it is a business use with a car.
I think it will be a good choice for those who do not ask for extra service for accommodation.
Personally I was able to stay comfortably.
