Hotel Flamingo

We stayed at the Hotel Flamingo for a week in early October in a superior Sea View Room which is situated above the main building with a view over the swimming Pool and with a good sea view. The room is of reasonable size and comprises a balcony with table and chairs, twin beds placed together, bedside cabinets with lighting, dressing table with drawers / large desk with mirror, chair, easy chair, flat screen TV, small fridge - mini bar, kettle, Large wardrobe with hangers and 4 drawers, room safe, bathroom with large walk in shower, WC, Bidet, basin plus complimentary toiletries (no bath). Plenty of storage space. Free WIFI. The room and the whole hotel were spotlessly clean and well maintained. The grounds are very pleasant with plenty of greenery and a large attractive swimming pool again kept very clean. Free sunbeds and sunshades around the pool. The Hotel has its own beach marked out with netting. The beach is sandy, but with a very stony area as you enter the sea before sand again, but if swimming you should have footwear to get over the stones. There are nice walks in both directions along the beach and in surrounding area. This is quite an underdeveloped area with a few medium sized hotels well spread out and a couple of up market camp sites set amongst pine trees. Not busy in the area at the time of our stay. There is a large car park and a bus stop just outside the hotel entrance - bus running about every 90 minutes to Pula in one direction and Santa Margareta in the other. The food was of good quality at breakfast and in the evening on Half Board basis. Buffet in the morning and waiter service in the evening. However the actual service was not good - not through lack of effort, but appeared to be short of waiting staff - quite slow in the evening on occasions and replenishment of the buffet salad bar in the evening and with items at breakfast was slow. On the subject of food there is a very good restaurant, Ortoristorante, a couple of hundred yards down the narrow road from Hotel which is very good indeed - we had an al fresco meal there which was really excellent in the gardens. There is a very interesting large Roman Site at nearby Nora which is certainly worth a visit. Our stay cost 272 Euros per night (about £240) Half Board which is on the high side I think in comparison. However we enjoyed our stay - previously stayed at this hotel 5 years ago and has probably improved a bit on then. There were some small aggravations: 1. Supposed to be dressing gown and slippers provided in room - not there and despite chasing only slippers arrived. 2. Supposed to have a free session at the Health Centre, but had closed on 15th September. 3. Supposed to have free paddle board Session, but not available. 4. Charged 3 Euros for each beach towel and 3 Euros again every time that you want to change it !! 5. There are two large bamboo covered areas on the beach with lots of deck chairs underneath which are free to use. However the actual sunbeds f

Service was phenomenal, the staff there were very friendly and caring, any problem or request and my needs were met. The hotel is very clean, the area is quiet with no disturbances during our stay. Room was equipped with AC which was very nice after coming in from the heat. The room was clean, with the beds being very comfy. The only negative to this place is that it’s in the middle of no where, in order to get there from the airport it’s either a 2 hour walk (have to walk around the motorways) or have to get a €20 taxi. In addition to this, it’s another 30 minutes roughly bus ride to the centre, and a good 20 minute walk to the closest shops. The hotel itself was excellent however the location is a really big negative to staying there. If you don’t have a car it’s not worth staying unless you can sort out travel.

The hotel is located a few minutes by car from the centre and the beach. View of the spectacular sea that gives beautiful sunshine! Breakfast varies and for the last day they have prepared the extravagant as we were going early in the morning! The hotel is fullly reflecting the Sardian style, there are many lounges to use for relaxation; the evening is the musical accompanying! The only negative point is the pool sleeps a little too used, perhaps they should be replaced! A little “disconfortable” that to get to some rooms you need to take two different lifts and get a step in the middle...

We had the suite, an awesome room featuring a sauna, a huge bathtub and a jacuzzi on the private rooftop terrace. Service was really welcoming and nice and you can borrow bikes to get to Pula in a few minutes.

Laura Luzzetti e famiglia

When we arrived at the hotel room, we were astonished, as it was really big - at least 50 square metres. We felt ourselves really well. However, as we have travelled in Sardinia quite a lot now, then it is typical that you do not think about heating. You fall asleep in a warm room, but wake up in cold, as the sun does not heat the room any more. The hotel is in a good location - close to Olbia Terranova train station and not too far from the city centre. In conclusion, the hotel is not a disappoin**ent. For this money - it is impossible to get a room spacious like that anywhere.

Great hotel despite the shortage of staff. Good 30 min walk into town which wouldn't be suitable for some. Very modern. Great breakfast buffet. Lots of gel and staff in masks. Nice outside area. Big modern room with good sound proofing, fridge, safe, good supply of power points, good lighting and lots of mirrors! Black out curtains. Good a/c, very quiet. Comfy bed. Good bathroom with a big bath with removable shower head. Group meal was slow and main course wasn't hot. That's our only complaint and it's probably due to the staff shortage which is worldwide problem in hospitality. We stayed as part of an organised tour. People travelling as individual couples may not notice the service issues but we did have to wait for bar service when there as a couple too.

We were a weekend in September, a great and beautiful view hotel, light and modern. The hotel is located in the port, and is distinguished from the nearby apartments. You can walk, as you land from the ferry or if you want, in the car.It has car places in the front of the entrance. The room they have with a wide and bright , as you can see from the photos, and served with all the comforts ,. WIFI ,mini bar, air conditioning , safe , hairdryer , terrace. The breakfast was abundant, as the photos show, they are well organized for intolerance and allergies, with specific products and are very kind and available. The reception and friendly to give all the indications such as coolest restaurants, beautiful beaches, breakfast hours, bar. The barman , the barman , are the same as we find at breakfast and we are cocktailed in finding the right balance , the location has a large terrace , covered half and the other outdoor , It is a show, you can see the whole lago and port at the morning and the sun, making breakfast or swallowing an aperitif. The prices are in the average of the month we were, the hotel and a 4 stars. Overall a very good judgment, certainly to return with family or friends.

Olbia City Center
Boutique hotel located just off the centre in a narrow road with limited parking. Stayed four nights as good base for travelling around Costa Smeralda. Very friendly and helpful staff. It has a great spa in basement. Nice bedroom and very comfy beds and a pleasant bathroom. Must make a special mention of the excellent breakfast and the lovely lady who serves it. Definitely recommend.
Hotel Flora

I stayed in Flora for the second time, the first last December (then was a couple trip with my husband and we stayed in the suite with the chiocola stairs, uncomfortable the bathroom, for the rest really beautiful, We stayed in two comfortable, clean, comfortable, comfortable rooms, the strong point is the bathroom, very comfortable. The services are different, breakfast was not very different, although both salted and sweet, but the oven products and the salted part were excellent (the eggs were very good!). The restaurant is very good, we have eaten a fish menu and I would also return to the restaurant. The staff of all departments really professional, kind and comfortable. A note separately deserves the beautiful collections present: antique and modernized, in particular toys, vessels, statues and lamps, pictures, but also various objects such as aquasantery, an old cash recorder and more, Verily beautiful and well maintained, every time I know something different. I will certainly return to it.
