Hotel near Ziyang Street/The Ancient City of Taizhou,Linhai 90.7% of visitors choose this area
GGuest User 2026.06.02
This hotel, touted as a must-stay for Shanghainese visiting Linhai, certainly lives up to its reputation! Or at least, that's what the book 'Linhai is Quite Interesting' claims. It says the building was originally a pawn shop, later transformed into a hotel named 'Yu Tong Feng' by a local owner with a passion for preservation. It remarkably survived the pandemic and has now become one of the two essential spots for Shanghainese tourists in Linhai – since I couldn't get a table at Xīnrongji (which has a 500 RMB tea fee!), staying here felt like a decent compromise. Ah, about the hotel's unique features – as soon as you enter the room, you'll notice them. The most impressive is definitely their bathtub. Just look at the size; it's practically big enough for three people, absolutely incredible! Backing onto Jinshan Mountain and facing the Lingjiang River, perhaps it allows guests to feel Linhai's complex relationship with water, even from their beds.

This is a hidden gem in a prime location near the city wall of Linhai. It’s a converted hutong down a side street and is well signposted. The receptionist didn’t speak English but we communicated via an app and she was so helpful. The room was spacious with satin sheets. The bathroom was clean and had hot water instantly for showering. I would stay here again. Also all rooms face into a lovely courtyard where you can sit and chill. I’m

The room was spacious and bright, with a great sense of openness. Being a suite, I could open the curtains and enjoy a vast green view, breathing in fresh air – it was incredibly comfortable. I could even sunbathe right on the balcony! If I have the chance next time, I hope to stay a few more nights to really soak it all in. The cleanliness was impeccable; everything was spotless, with no unpleasant odors, and attention to detail was evident throughout. The location was very convenient. Getting to the Xizha Scenic Area by taxi was quick, just a few minutes, making getting around hassle-free. The front desk service was warm and attentive. Check-in was efficient, and they were always ready to answer questions with a friendly and professional attitude. Overall, my experience was excellent, offering great value for money. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Wuzhen, and I would definitely choose to stay here again!

Finally, I stayed here on my own. I'd always booked for clients before, but this time, I brought a friend along to experience a river-view room in the heart of Xitang. It was worth the trip. We also saw the flower boats. There weren't many, only six, but they were perfect for the setting. Interlude: I asked the landlady to borrow two beautiful fire goblets, and then my friend dropped them on the floor. The first thing the landlady asked was if we had any scratches, and she didn't ask for compensation.

Super fun! This was one of the theme hotels that were hidden on the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street set. Appropriately, the Rosslyn Hotels' brand icon is the Landlady from Kungfu Hustle. Upon arrival, you check in at the North Gate's Tourist Services Desk. The concierge welcomed me with a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and asking me to add their butler (Housekeeper Xiao Xiao) to my WeChat. If I needed anything, I just had to text the Housekeeper Xiao Xiao (who was super helpful with all my questions (in English) during my stay). Then the bellhop whisked me away, via golf cart, to my hotel. There were several hidden hotels, with different themes, throughout the set. The bellhop took me through an unassuming door among into what looked like an empty set, and up an elevator to the room floors. The walkway offered a lovely view of the Ming Qing Palace set next door. The rooms were supposed to be themed as Guangzhou and Hong Kong in the 70s and 80s, but could easily pass for old Shanghai. The room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the shower has nice and hot and with fantastic water pressure. The room has some of the largest closet space that I have seen in any hotel. The WiFi worked without the need to register a local cellphone number (I've found that many other hotels, in China, offered free WiFi, but you need to verify with an ID code text to you. The texts never come through to my U.S. phone number, so I have never been able to take advantage of free WiFi; that is until I got to this hotel.) The little details were delightful surprises around every corner. They always refer to guests as ”laoshi” (an honorific of teacher, or master, bestowed to actors) or as ”starlet”. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to take home the pair of the room's bone china cups. The stay also comes with very decent breakfast buffet that had both Chinese and western dishes. They will even make you fresh wontons and noodle soups to order. The restaurants in the park are not great and quite expensive by China's standard. I recommend loading up at the more tasty free breakfast to power through the day. The hotel's location was very convenient for touring Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street; which had very lively evening shows. (As you walk through the streets, look at the stores' signs and test your TV shows and movie knowledge by finding the Easter eggs.) The Qing Ming Palace Set is across the street from the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street's South Gateon the other side of the park (don't worry, it's not that far). To access the other sets, you can take their shuttle, but it does not come around very often. It's more efficient to get a Didi. Overall, it was a magical stay of being in the movies.

The B&B's location is super convenient and easy to find, very close to the scenic spots. The breakfast was also really rich and delicious. The environment is beautiful; I really love it here and will definitely come back again. Here, I witnessed the beautiful beginning of my love story with her, and I hope this place marks a wonderful start for us, where we can understand and cherish each other. We don't need grand gestures, just to walk hand-in-hand through life's small moments.

This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. The service was exquisite. Before I even left Zhoushan, they contacted me via WeChat to inquire about my estimated arrival time and turned on the air conditioning in advance. Upon arrival, since cars couldn't be driven to the entrance, the butler and his assistant were waiting at the alleyway entrance, creating a feeling of welcoming guests home. The room was tastefully decorated, and entering the courtyard instantly calmed my restless heart. Located next to the famous Ziyang Ancient Street, the guesthouse is a perfect oasis of tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle. The ”cat butler's” calm demeanor was infectious, making me passively quiet down. I couldn't help but fall in love with this place and with Linhai. The butler and his assistant's tone of voice was also very calming. I highly recommend staying for a few days; it's a true cultivation of one's character.

This is a guesthouse in the Xizha Scenic Area. It's at the end of a narrow alley, so I couldn't find it on my own. But the staff at the hostel kindly called and asked for the hotel, and I was able to find it. The hotel staff were very friendly. The room has a lovely atmosphere, and it's perfect for exploring the ancient town late at night or early in the morning. The air conditioning was weak, so it was a little cold.

Facilities: A bit dated. Cleanliness: Though old, it's clean. Ambiance: The environment is great, mainly because the hotel's location is excellent. Service: Very attentive; they help bring luggage to the room. The front desk staff (a young man) is very patient and answers all questions, and they even help call a taxi when you leave.

Because I wanted to live a few days slowly, I heard a friend recommend to come to Jinyun Xiandu Scenic Area. Because I refused to run around the scenic spots, I chose a homestay in the scenic spot for four days. Low-carbon travel, leisurely. Yuanzhiyuan gave us a good experience and it is worth living again. Clean room, quiet small courtyard, comfortable room, can live five people no problem. (There is one bathroom, which needs to be arranged reasonably. We are still available for three people.) The boss is fat and thoughtful, responsive and gives optimization itinerary suggestions. The boss's mother is a Jiangnan woman, gentle and beautiful, breakfast is prepared with different tastes every day, noodles, porridge, green potatoes, cloud biscuits, one is also a lot, very delicious. The boss father took care of the flowers and plants in the small yard. He loved photography and made coffee by hand. He gave us coffee every morning. Dinghu Peak Zhuyu Mountain Rock Study Room Wengdong can walk, and the main thing is to relax. Xiaochibi Xiandu is not far away. The boss drove us over and came back after a stroll. The boss car went to Yanxia Village and Heyang Ancient Village. Four nights and three days, Xiandu strolled, very comfortable. It is recommended that the spring season is early in March and April, and autumn is said to be beautiful, October and November. Come back later, Lucky!

JJuliettpyThe Shuixiang Youth Hostel was under maintenance, so we received a complimentary upgrade to a Balcony King Room at Zhenshui Resort Hotel. The hotel facilities seemed a bit dated, and the walls had some noticeable stains. The bathroom was also on the smaller side. However, our overall stay was very pleasant, and these minor points didn't significantly impact our experience. Given its location within the scenic area, this hotel is genuinely affordable and offers excellent value for money. Both the check-in and luggage transfer services were convenient and prompt. Breakfast could be swapped for Zaochake (from 7:30 to 9:30 AM). While the food itself was quite ordinary, it was a unique experience as you could watch a performance. We're very grateful for the free upgrade, which allowed us to enjoy the beautiful view from our balcony. Highly recommended.

MMaria13579One of our best stays in China! This place was absolutely amazing. The ladies running it are hilarious and always made us laugh. First of all - the rooms are really good for the price. We got upgraded to a much better room after our first night, free of charge. It’s also conveniently located next to grocery shops, cafes, restaurants and the beach, while still being a little out of the way from the hustle and bustle. The food here is really good too - the (included) breakfast as well as what you can buy for lunch/dinner is really fresh. Because of the language barrier they tried to accommodate by providing more “western style” breakfasts for us, but when we realized and asked about it they made us a second breakfast that was like the one everyone else got. They also helped us out with a driver to take us to the abandoned village, and booked our tickets back to Shanghai. Also, the aircon here is FAST and reliable which we’ve realized isn’t a given after a few weeks in China. So that’s another (small yet important) plus for sure! Usually I like to explore different places and stay at different accommodations if/when I revisit places, but I’d probably make an exception and stay here again if I ever come back to visit the island!

MMiyangdejiyiThe location is fantastic, just a 10-15 minute stroll from Dongzha, Xizha, and Nanzha. The surrounding area is bustling with plenty of restaurants, breakfast spots, coffee shops, pharmacies, small supermarkets, and even massage spas – really convenient! The hotel reception also offers free stamps of Wuzhen attractions, which is a nice touch. To be honest, I'd never stayed in a guesthouse before, having only experienced 2-5 star hotels for business and leisure. Given that I have no guesthouse comparisons, and considering the price of just over a hundred yuan a night, here’s my review: First, soundproofing: The sound insulation between rooms and between the hallway and rooms is comparable to a standard hotel. Occasionally, I'd hear cars passing outside, but it wasn't overly noisy or disturbing. Cleanliness: The bedding was very clean, and as someone with sensitive skin, I had no issues during my three-night stay. The bathroom was also good, even providing disposable toilet seat covers, which is more comprehensive than most hotels! Service attitude: Overall, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Daily cleaning was prompt. Knowing I was from the north, they reminded me to turn on the air conditioning upon entering the room, but early spring in Jiangnan was surprisingly cold, so I ended up asking for a second duvet on the second day. Facilities: While it's only a bit over a hundred yuan a night, and considering the accommodation quality, I shouldn't really nitpick, but I do want to mention one minor drawback: there was no place to hang clothes in the bathroom. 😥

婷格格📍 Nanxun | Stayed at Time in a Bottle Inn on July 22nd 🔖 #SleepingInAncientTownByTheRiver is amazing! 🛏️ The room was spotless enough for a magazine cover! Every inch of it is a perfect balance of retro and minimalist. Opening the window opens to a breathtaking river view, making it feel like stepping into a Jiangnan ink painting. 💁♀️ Service: The front desk lady was like a fairy! As soon as I walked in, she gave me a friendly explanation and gave me a Hanfu suit for photos 📸 (free!) 💄 Add ¥160: Includes hair styling, professional traditional Chinese makeup, and a photographer for 15 photos! ✔️ The photoshoot started right there, and it was so ethereal! It felt like I'd traveled through time! 🍡 Downstairs = the ancient town's version of a late-night diner! A second walk into a foodie paradise! Hangzhou pastries, hand-made beef balls, skewers—all so delicious! 🌙🌶️ 💰 NT$481 a night, it completely healed my heart! Amazing value for money, dreamy and affordable, it's my favorite stop on my Jiangnan trip. 🧳 Note to my future self: I'll definitely be back! 👍👍👍👍👍

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very good location, it's nice and quiet. It is near the scienic area entrance and the parking lot. It took us less than 5min to walk to the hotel. We have to check in at the Zicha visitor centre. Staff is friendly and polite even their English speaking is very limited. They went out of their way to help and give us enough information for our trip. The hotel is a bit old but still well maintained. The bed is comfy and the room is very clean, the shower pressure is good as well. I took the packages which is including unlimited access to the water town and the shuttle bus driving us to the other end of the water town. I used it on the way back as I was tired to walk back. The only negative point is the breakfast is very plain as they don't have many choices. They did'nt even served the coffee. However we can go inside the water town to enjoy the local breakfast with the lovely vibe. Overall I am quite happy with it as my main trip is to explore the water town in the evening and early morning. I am not hesitated to recommend this hotel to my family and friends.
