Pretty good overall, just a bit inconvenient that breakfast isn't included. The disposable bath towels are a nice touch for someone a bit of a germaphobe. The small balcony is perfect for reading or enjoying a cup of tea. And the downstairs garden is great for a game of mahjong.

Although it's a guesthouse, the overall facilities and service are beyond 5-star. The hotel is a renovated historic ticket office. You enter through a bookstore and pass a long corridor to reach the front desk. As soon as I checked in, the front desk upgraded me to a suite, which immediately made a great impression. To maintain privacy, the hotel has a security gate, and only registered guests can access the residential area with their key cards. That's another plus! My room was on the third floor, accessible by elevator. The room was very spacious, and the bedding was perfectly comfortable – neither too soft nor too firm. Stepping out of the room, you could see a large public terrace. Looking out, I could admire the lush, natural scenery of the distant mountains, which was absolutely refreshing. While the breakfast variety wasn't as extensive as a 5-star hotel, it was still very plentiful and, more importantly, much more thoughtful and heartfelt than typical hotel breakfasts. Many local snacks were carefully selected and ordered by the hotel, such as Wang Tianshun's seaweed cakes, an old brand's wontons from the market, Sanhe & Simei's fermented tofu, freshly fried mini fritters, and local noodles. The coffee was also excellent. Because the breakfast was so uniquely local and delicious, I ended up eating a lot every morning! The hotel's location is also very central. Longxing Temple, Ziyang Street, and the entrance to the ancient city wall are all nearby. There are also many local restaurants around the hotel, offering plenty of choices. Yet, the hotel itself manages to be a tranquil oasis in the bustling city, and my room was very quiet. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Linhai!

The guesthouse is conveniently located within the scenic area. It's very quiet at night, unaffected by the noise from the bar street. It's right next to the river cruise; you can see it as soon as you step out. A quiet oasis amidst the hustle and bustle, this guesthouse offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended.

Super fun! This was one of the theme hotels that were hidden on the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street set. Appropriately, the Rosslyn Hotels' brand icon is the Landlady from Kungfu Hustle. Upon arrival, you check in at the North Gate's Tourist Services Desk. The concierge welcomed me with a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and asking me to add their butler (Housekeeper Xiao Xiao) to my WeChat. If I needed anything, I just had to text the Housekeeper Xiao Xiao (who was super helpful with all my questions (in English) during my stay). Then the bellhop whisked me away, via golf cart, to my hotel. There were several hidden hotels, with different themes, throughout the set. The bellhop took me through an unassuming door among into what looked like an empty set, and up an elevator to the room floors. The walkway offered a lovely view of the Ming Qing Palace set next door. The rooms were supposed to be themed as Guangzhou and Hong Kong in the 70s and 80s, but could easily pass for old Shanghai. The room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the shower has nice and hot and with fantastic water pressure. The room has some of the largest closet space that I have seen in any hotel. The WiFi worked without the need to register a local cellphone number (I've found that many other hotels, in China, offered free WiFi, but you need to verify with an ID code text to you. The texts never come through to my U.S. phone number, so I have never been able to take advantage of free WiFi; that is until I got to this hotel.) The little details were delightful surprises around every corner. They always refer to guests as ”laoshi” (an honorific of teacher, or master, bestowed to actors) or as ”starlet”. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to take home the pair of the room's bone china cups. The stay also comes with very decent breakfast buffet that had both Chinese and western dishes. They will even make you fresh wontons and noodle soups to order. The restaurants in the park are not great and quite expensive by China's standard. I recommend loading up at the more tasty free breakfast to power through the day. The hotel's location was very convenient for touring Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street; which had very lively evening shows. (As you walk through the streets, look at the stores' signs and test your TV shows and movie knowledge by finding the Easter eggs.) The Qing Ming Palace Set is across the street from the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street's South Gateon the other side of the park (don't worry, it's not that far). To access the other sets, you can take their shuttle, but it does not come around very often. It's more efficient to get a Didi. Overall, it was a magical stay of being in the movies.

This is a guesthouse in the Xizha Scenic Area. It's at the end of a narrow alley, so I couldn't find it on my own. But the staff at the hostel kindly called and asked for the hotel, and I was able to find it. The hotel staff were very friendly. The room has a lovely atmosphere, and it's perfect for exploring the ancient town late at night or early in the morning. The air conditioning was weak, so it was a little cold.

This hotel is quite charming—it’s a large, old house that has been nicely converted into several hotel rooms. Our room was very comfortable. However, a heads-up regarding the bathroom: there was no door on the toilet area, and the shower was an all-glass enclosure. Since I was traveling with my husband, it wasn't an issue for us, but if you are traveling with friends, you might want to be aware of this lack of privacy. The location is excellent! It’s right next to the City Wall and super close to several great restaurants and cool bars. We also liked the service; the staff were quite attentive. One thing I found confusing, though, was that they didn't register my address as per the usual government standard for foreign guests, which most hotels in China follow. As for cleanliness, it was standard for China—there were a few stray hairs in parts of the room (usually women's hair), but I find this happens in practically any hotel here. Overall, it was a good stay!

The location was good and the accommodation had a nice Chinese-style classic feel. One thing that was inconvenient was that when I arrived at the accommodation, I had to wait a long time to meet the owner. Of course, he wrote down his phone number and went out, but it was a shame that I couldn't meet him when I checked out.

Finally, I stayed here on my own. I'd always booked for clients before, but this time, I brought a friend along to experience a river-view room in the heart of Xitang. It was worth the trip. We also saw the flower boats. There weren't many, only six, but they were perfect for the setting. Interlude: I asked the landlady to borrow two beautiful fire goblets, and then my friend dropped them on the floor. The first thing the landlady asked was if we had any scratches, and she didn't ask for compensation.

This is a guest house, it looks family owned. When you arrive at the children's park and are in the car park facing the entrance, go left, pass the back entrance you see the vila. The reception is a little damp and shabby but the room upstairs overlooking the garden was great, clean, worth all the amenities and warm. Beds were clean and confortable. Good location with lots of food shops across the street. 10/15 min walk fro the beautiful flower park and West lake. Happy days. 🌸😊

This was my first time visiting Wuzhen, and the front desk service at the guesthouse was exceptionally good. They answered almost every question we had. We were heading to Hangzhou the next day and asked if they could help us arrange a car. The front desk staff not only helped us call a car but also found us a ride that was cheaper than DiDi! Highly recommend this place.

GGuest UserTraveling to Wuzhen with my elderly parents and kids, I'm so glad I chose this hotel – it definitely didn't disappoint! For Wuzhen, this hotel is certainly one of the larger ones, so I'm not sure why it has such a small-sounding name. I initially thought it might not be that great, but I was pleasantly surprised! The front desk has a charming, old-world feel, and the hotel's central location makes it super convenient to get anywhere. You can even hop on the scenic tour bus right outside. The room was spacious, clean, and hygienic, and our family of four was very comfortable. The only downside was the breakfast; it's a unified buffet provided by the scenic area, and it felt incredibly greasy.

MMaria13579One of our best stays in China! This place was absolutely amazing. The ladies running it are hilarious and always made us laugh. First of all - the rooms are really good for the price. We got upgraded to a much better room after our first night, free of charge. It’s also conveniently located next to grocery shops, cafes, restaurants and the beach, while still being a little out of the way from the hustle and bustle. The food here is really good too - the (included) breakfast as well as what you can buy for lunch/dinner is really fresh. Because of the language barrier they tried to accommodate by providing more “western style” breakfasts for us, but when we realized and asked about it they made us a second breakfast that was like the one everyone else got. They also helped us out with a driver to take us to the abandoned village, and booked our tickets back to Shanghai. Also, the aircon here is FAST and reliable which we’ve realized isn’t a given after a few weeks in China. So that’s another (small yet important) plus for sure! Usually I like to explore different places and stay at different accommodations if/when I revisit places, but I’d probably make an exception and stay here again if I ever come back to visit the island!

MMiyangdejiyiThe location is fantastic, just a 10-15 minute stroll from Dongzha, Xizha, and Nanzha. The surrounding area is bustling with plenty of restaurants, breakfast spots, coffee shops, pharmacies, small supermarkets, and even massage spas – really convenient! The hotel reception also offers free stamps of Wuzhen attractions, which is a nice touch. To be honest, I'd never stayed in a guesthouse before, having only experienced 2-5 star hotels for business and leisure. Given that I have no guesthouse comparisons, and considering the price of just over a hundred yuan a night, here’s my review: First, soundproofing: The sound insulation between rooms and between the hallway and rooms is comparable to a standard hotel. Occasionally, I'd hear cars passing outside, but it wasn't overly noisy or disturbing. Cleanliness: The bedding was very clean, and as someone with sensitive skin, I had no issues during my three-night stay. The bathroom was also good, even providing disposable toilet seat covers, which is more comprehensive than most hotels! Service attitude: Overall, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Daily cleaning was prompt. Knowing I was from the north, they reminded me to turn on the air conditioning upon entering the room, but early spring in Jiangnan was surprisingly cold, so I ended up asking for a second duvet on the second day. Facilities: While it's only a bit over a hundred yuan a night, and considering the accommodation quality, I shouldn't really nitpick, but I do want to mention one minor drawback: there was no place to hang clothes in the bathroom. 😥

GGuest UserFirst time going to Nan Xun Old town with luggage. The road to the hotel is killing me as the uneven bricks road. When reaching the hotel around 12pm, the hotel owner (boss) allowed me to check in and upgraded my room. The owner is a straight person and doesn't like to talk much. After several conversations, he is willing to share what to play and where to eat. The room included a hanfu experience. The owner asked me to give it a try without any make up (additional RMB 100). I decided to add on make up without a photographer (RMB 99/ 168) with photographer service. As I stay in the hotel, I can return the Han Fu the next day. Great deal for experience but don't expect good quality Han Fu (limited). Originally wanted to try Qing Han Fu but ended up trying Miao zu clothes. Nice pic indeed. Downside: room very dim. The hotel is a bit old style but matches the old town. No lift , hotel located at level 2. Very basic room. Amenities need to be taken from the front office. Make up can look for Chuan Yi. She is very patient and nice. Will accommodate my request and help me to make up plus decorate my hair style to match the Han Fu. Worth your penny for the stay!!!

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very good location, it's nice and quiet. It is near the scienic area entrance and the parking lot. It took us less than 5min to walk to the hotel. We have to check in at the Zicha visitor centre. Staff is friendly and polite even their English speaking is very limited. They went out of their way to help and give us enough information for our trip. The hotel is a bit old but still well maintained. The bed is comfy and the room is very clean, the shower pressure is good as well. I took the packages which is including unlimited access to the water town and the shuttle bus driving us to the other end of the water town. I used it on the way back as I was tired to walk back. The only negative point is the breakfast is very plain as they don't have many choices. They did'nt even served the coffee. However we can go inside the water town to enjoy the local breakfast with the lovely vibe. Overall I am quite happy with it as my main trip is to explore the water town in the evening and early morning. I am not hesitated to recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

PP CurrallUpon arrival we were warmly greeted as we parked our car in front of the hotel. The level of service continued to be extremely warm and friendly to the point of departure when they checked the road for us to leave. The location rating is more subjective. It’s very convenient as a base to explore Moganshan and doesn’t have the access complications of staying up on top of the mountain or the hustle and bustle of being in the town which gets a lot of traffic congestion. We enjoyed the seclusion and having a car it was ideal. The room was cosy with a good AC, quality accessories and a reasonable view, all appropriate for a 4 star hotel. We really liked the living and lounging areas around the grounds, where you can relax and read in seclusion. The swimming pool was perfect. Breakfast was a set menu and acceptable. Overall we felt very comfortable and would gladly return. Big thanks to the staff who did everything to make our stay pleasurable.

GGuest UserThe room is big but unfortunately lack a bit of natural light and is not very well isolated from the outside balcony : you will need to use the heater in winter! The desk service is really helpful even though I recommend to speak a bit of Chinese as they don’t speak English. If you want to enjoy the lake, it’s ideally located as you arrive in the lakeside in 5min. However, it’s pretty isolated from the city, which can cause trouble when you want to eat dinner in the evening…
