Hamazen Ryokan

It was great. The open-air bath was spacious and my skin was so smooth. I want to go again.

The bath was good. The room we stayed in was 6 tatami mats, but for an Osaka local, it's not too big for two people. The bath was even bigger and very good. The hot spring is weakly alkaline, but it leaves your skin feeling smooth after the bath. We had a kaiseki meal in our room, which was very filling and very satisfying. The people at the inn were also nice, and I would like to stay again.

I used a discount coupon, so I booked a slightly more expensive plan. It may be an old inn, but they're trying their best. The room I was shown had an indoor bath, and the water was flowing freely! They couldn't even stop it! I thought it was salt water, but it was a hot spring with a lot of iron. The main dishes were fish and chikuwa, but for some reason, they brought out a plate of sea urchin and a spiny lobster salad as a service, saying that it was a high-priced plan. It was already a typical inn-style meal, but the extras made me full.

The room is small. But the bath attached to the room is big! The bath takes up half of the whole room lol. There was no door or curtain between the dressing room and the tatami room, which was a problem for us, a three-generation family. They managed to find something to hide us and installed it. The hot spring is free-flowing 24 hours a day, and it's lukewarm but feels good. By the way, the large public bath in the annex is currently closed. The food seems to have received mixed reviews, but it was very delicious. Sashimi, chawanmushi, lobster gratin, butter-sautéed abalone, fried fugu, beef stew, soup, etc. There was a wide variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. Above all, the ladies at the inn were cheerful and fun. The overall feel was old and old-fashioned. However, I was surprised that amenities for men (lotion, etc.) were well prepared lol. There are many things to point out, but I was satisfied with the delicious food and the pleasant hot spring!
