We booked two rooms, one of which was upgraded to a suite for free. Thnak you. The design of the hotel is quite old and dated, but it is clean and neat. The breakfast was not good, this is the only IHG hotel where I have to find my own table and the restaurant was quite full. The breakfast choices are quite limited, not the Crowne Plaza hotel standard I expected.

Pros: Absolutely beautiful hotel. Very elegant and stylish. Rooms are large and very comfortable. Some staff members can speak English. Near Subway Line 2 (Exit 14). Excellent breakfast. Cons: Hotel refused to return our deposit (paid via Alipay) when we left, citing a ”problem with their bank” (no fault of ours), saying they need 24 hours to return the deposit. This seems to be their default policy. After we insisted it was returned the same day, although a few hours after we have already left Shanghai. This experience left a rather bad impression, and I would not return to stay at this hotel. I would suggest that guests check the hotel's current policy regarding the return of deposits, before they make a reservation.

What we love - its central location, cleanliness, a lot of food choices during breakfast buffet, heated pool. We just had some concerns during booking and check in, it was not indicated that our room has no windows but the reception just gave us this room without windows. Due to winter, temperature control cannot be changed so it tends to be very warm.

I booked this hotel because I fancied a spa day. I tried to contact the spa for 2 days after checking in without success, so I went to investigate. There is no spa despite being advertised online, on the hotel website AND in the room. When I spoke to the manager about my disappointment, he told me to just use another one in the local area. Also, there’s no personal touch here like at other Marriotts- no one said hello, helped with my suitcase or greeted me whenever I returned to the hotel. I usually feel ‘special’ when using this brand of hotel- but not this time. On a positive note, it’s beautiful and in a great location. I loved the bath in the room and the great breakfast.

Just downstairs from Shanghai No. 1 Food Company, it’s the best choice for foodies. The location is good, with convenient transportation from north to south. The room was clean, the service was good, and all the requirements were met. Breakfast is delivered to the room, and the service staff will greet you when you meet in the corridor. Small but complete. Shanghainese are smart and sophisticated. The girls and boys at the front desk are very nice and very enthusiastic.

Located strategically at the heart of shopping district. Accessible, 10 mins walk to the bund, 5 mins walk to metro stations, 20mins walk to most tourist spots, 40mins from airport. Plenty of good food around to try out. Simple room, sufficiently furnished for a short stay. My room is slightly noisy from massive tourist crowd/ downstairs, however expected for its location. Price is attractive and affordable.

The hostel exceeded my expectations. Could not relate to the bad reviews about permanent residents dirtying up the place. I didn't encounter any of them. But I did stay in winter, so maybe there were less people. The common area is huge and comfortable. There's a water dispenser in the common area, and also a large collection of beer and drinks. The room can be a little small, but it's sufficient. I've stayed in worse places. The locations is also perfect. Just a stone's throw away from Nanjing Road, and 5 min walk from People's Square station. I see no reason why I would not stay here again.

Check-in wasn’t a good experience, but the hotel was okay after that. When I first checked-in, the room key cards I was given didn’t work, which was frustrating as the room was one of the furthest from reception. This meant I had to go all the way back for new keys after a long day. I just wanted to relax! Then the second room I was given didn’t match the photos on Trip.com, in particular it didn’t have a real window, looking over the dining area rather than outside. But when finally settled into the third room, the stay was okay. It was supposedly an upgrade, but it only looked like the room I had booked. The location is the big plus: right on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street which leads to the Bund, both iconic locations that are great to visit. I didn’t have the breakfast as there were no spare seats, so I went to a nearby McDonald’s instead. The hotel needs to enlarge its dining area.

The location is perfect. Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street is just downstairs. You can see two pieces of the three-piece set while sitting by the window. It only takes about twenty minutes to walk to the Bund with the kids. The breakfast buffet is very rich, the staff are very enthusiastic and have a good attitude. We liked the hotel, its location is wonderful, the service is quite good. It's situated in the downtown area, there are lots of shops and cafes nearby, and the main pedestrian street is very close to the hotel. The room contains everything you need for everyday's life, especially I loved the bathtub, it's clean, snowy white, however it's not so big, but nevertheless it's cosy and nice. The bed, the thick curtains let you sleep until lunchtime 😂 the breakfast is quite good, it includes eggs in 4 variants, coffee, tea, milk, cereal, salami, ham, cheese, pastry, fruit, vegetables, different Chinese food, yoghurt. I haven't seen the iron and ironing board in the hotels before, that's pretty much cool. The small kitchen also contains dishes, cutlery set for two, a cooking pot and pan, a microwave oven, a small fridge, so you can cook something. Thank you for this wonderful stay in Shanghai. If we are in Shanghai once again, we would love to stay in green court again!!!

✨ [First glance into the room] The location of the room is very good, parking and taxi! Going downstairs in a straight line of about 200 meters, you will arrive at Nanjing Road… it is also very close to the Chenghuang Temple! The most worth stressing is that after checking out, I found that the ring was left in the room. The landlord arranged for the first time to clean and didn't find it. After communication, I went to help find it again. I finally found it and sent it back to the courier! So: highly recommended! The landlord and the cleaning aunt are very good! !

The location of this hotel is definitely a plus point. We are just a stone throw away from Nanjing Buxing Road. Love how convenient it is for us. There’s this really good bao shop located near the hotel too. And we missed it so much! Direction: Exit from the hotel main entrance, turn right. Follow the walking path. Along the way, you could grab a cuppa but do note that the cafe don’t accept cash, strictly by e-payment only. You’ll see the yellow signage (the Bao shop!) when you reach a cross junction. Just to be sure, Nanjing Buxing Rd is right across the street. ☺️ The hotel’s buffet breakfast spread was great too! Apart from all of these, the only thing that we were disappointed in was the front desk staffs. They were pretty snobbish and ignorant. The hospitality were not up to par with how great the hotel was. Amenities wise, do note that you have to pick it up from the front desk. Toothbrush/toothpaste set, vanity necessities (comb etc) have to be requested.

The location is a big plus as it is near metro and also the hotel is at Nanjing Road, People’s Square, close to The Bund and other places. My itinerary started around 2pm. I arrived Shanghai at 11am from Pudong Airport. ＞ Nanjing Road ＞ The Bund ＞ Yu Yuan Garden ＞ Shanghai Old Town Then went back to roam around. Found Cathedrals along the way (not sure of the names) ＞ Around 7pm I joined the Tour Bus which is 40RMB for 40minutes and will take you to the other side where the Shanghai Tower and Oriental Pearl Tower located. You can see them upclose. The receptionist was helpful on my checked-out day as she helped me to call a taxi to my next destination. The only downside of this hotel is the cleanliness of the room and corridor. I found a hair on my bed, even inside the duvet. Under the table was so dusty. Toothpick at the corridor. Which I believe can improve next time. :) All in all. It’s a great hotel and great location.

Every day, you can see the queue at the side door of the No. 1 Food Store to buy freshly baked butterfly pastries, and smell the aroma of baking cream cheese. The hotel has a good environment, complete facilities, good service attitude, and good cleaning. When I first came in, I saw the aunt cleaning the room. The size is moderate. The bed is comfortable overall. It is comfortable to sleep. The bathroom is very clean. No smell, and the traffic is very convenient.
