We were completely satisfied with everything in the Horst hostel. The check-in was friendly and quick, the rooms (we had family room No. 14 with 4 adults) were very comfortable and clean. The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom is huge. The free parking is right behind the house. Breakfast offer was not huge (but is also not realistic to expect at the size of the hostel shop), but fresh, of good quality and delicious and we had everything we needed. A walk takes 5 minutes to the center, where you have a lot of choice of restaurants, cafes and bars with relaxed atmosphere and with a lot of outdoor gastronomy. The operators were very, very friendly, speaking fluidly German and enjoying continuing to help with all questions. In particular, we have a refrigerator filled with about 30 beers and soft drinks in the lobby area, which you can use (free). You can also stay in the general area of the hostel if you don't want to stay in the room. The hostel also offers a dinner you must order before (not sure how much pre-order you need). We did not try this at this visit, but we would test it next time.

Made a late booking to stay here when travelling from Berlin to Calais. Excellent location just off the motorway - a little hidden but should have followed the sat nav ! Really easy check in, perfect English spoken, Room was a little walk from reception but not too bad. Spotlessly clean. Good shower, but tiny towels! Lovely grounds with 4 large ponds. These were in fenced so may be a concern for those with small children. Quite a few dogs staying at this hotel - with their owners of course - head then say it was an additional 17.50EUR per night for your dog and they were only allowed in certain rooms. 12 car chargers in the car park at 0.59EUR / Kw. All 22kw chargers that were fine for my car as a hybrid, but could be slow for a full charge on all electric vehicles. No app required to use them. Good breakfast with just the right amount of choice. Nice restaurant, lovely setting and good food.

Wir sind hier für eine Nacht abgestiegen und wurde positiv überrascht. Ein sehr schönes und sauberes Hotel, welches Zentral aber ruhig gelegen ist. Die Zimmer sind stillvoll eingerichtet und bieten alles, was zu einer Übernachtung gehört. Wir hatten Zimmer immer obersten Stockwerk, welche über schmale steile Stufen zu erreichen waren. Wie es halt früher so war :-) Den sehr schönen Außenbereich konnten wir bei sonnigem Wetter genießen und wurde hier sehr freundlich bedient. Das Essen am Abend und zum Frühstuck war sehr lecker und ausreichend zum satt werden. Auch unsere E-Bikes konnten wir problemlos und sicher abstellen. Hier stimmte bei unserem Besuch alles!!

I have been choosing this hotel for my global team meetings for the last 6 years. With my team changing every 2 years, I have new staff members visiting the Netherlands and this hotel every time. Each time they are positively surprised by the combination of old buildings and modern facilities, the relaxed atmosphere and the great food. Also this time we had a great stay and were able to have our central meetings and breakout sessions in the various rooms available. The hotel and its staff provides an intimate atmosphere, in contradiction to the average business / conferency hotel I also do - have to - visit on a regular basis.
