Pokoje czyste, śniadanie w cenie (smaczne i dużo do wyboru). Obsługa bardzo sympatyczna, przy odbiorze karty dostałam informację o możliwości skorzystania z basenu, o którym nawet nie wiedziałam :) wysoki standard jak na tą cenę

Had a good nights stay in Hotel O Colmo as part of a group walking trip. Very quirky, with lots of old memorabilia around hotel. Our room was large and had 4 single beds for the 2 of us! Nice indoor pool and jacuzzi to use after a day walking, but both had quite cool water. Well stocked and priced bar (including a delicious banana beer, poncha and Madeira wine). We had a group dinner which was excellent, beautifully presented, and delicious. Good selection at breakfast but there was a very large group so felt crowded and rushed. Great location for the town and easy walk to see the traditional huts.

Numerous Bedbugs in my room. When reported, got another room. But hotel did not seem shocked or even very apologetic. Disappointed by the reaction, made me wonder if they were already aware of the situation. Dated, could do with a refurbishment Extremely generous portions of food in the restaurant. May be an idea to share meals otherwise lots goes to waste.

I stayed here as part of an organised tour. I arrived a day early. There is nothing to do in the town. The hotel is very dated however I regarded that as authentic, but sadly the property is not well maintained. Breakfast was ok The rooms were very noisy. I had a room that overlooked the sea and church and the bells rang every 15 minutes. There are tiles on the floor which caused every noise to echo, the closing of doors, the cleaning trolly, just noisy. They also have parties there which cause a great amount of noise. The staff were pleasant I wouldn't stay here again

Surprisingly good hotel. Breakfast is great. Dinner was also very nice. All of the staff were very friendly. It's much better than a 3* hotel. Has a heated pool and a spa pool. Slightly out of town and the town is hilly so you need to enjoy a good walk.

The hotel is a bit dated, but everything works - eventually - and the room was clean. I had issues with the warm water but after an inquiry they got it fixed within minutes. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Everything could use an update, especially the pool area aside from the jacuzzi. That one was lovely. The main issue I had with this hotel was that my room was quite cold, but there were some wool blankets in the closet so I was cozy in bed after all. It’s okay for staying in a couple of nights, but I wouldn’t want to spend longer here.

We stayed here for one night. We woke up after a couple hours sleep to condensation on the window and unbreathatble air. Turns out the room was completely airtight with no ventilation whatsoever. When opening the window we had ~10 mosquitos enter within just a couple of minutes, and there was no mosquito-net to block them out. I went down to the reception to ask about the ventilation, but the guy on night shift was clueless. We ended up sleeping with our door open into the hallway to get any air in. To top it off, the bed was the hardest I have ever slept on in a hotel, and the sorry excuse of a breakfast was not worth touching. I want to clarify that this review goes for the hotel. The guys working in the restaurant were super nice and friendly.

I stayed here for a few nights sharing a room while on a tour. I thought it was great. The rooms were massive with amazing views and very clean, and the beds were comfortable with a choice to have extra blankets if needed. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was pretty good, and there was a bidet. My experience was that the area was very peaceful and quiet, but I was in a room at the front; I think some of our group had rooms at the back and they could occasionally hear people exiting the bar late at night. I loved the pool in the basement, a good size. There was also a small gym with cardio equipment next to it. I didn’t check out the roof terrace as I’ve only just realised it had one! The food was great. Breakfast had a good choice including cooked, though I kept to continental style. Coffee was very good. The dinners were very tasty and the portions very generous! I shared with my roommate a couple of times and we still had more than enough. Location was fantastic. There’s a market opposite and lots of shops and a big supermarket nearby, and the start of excellent trails. There are beautiful parks here and some good restaurants too. Another thing I loved was their bilingual parrot at the front who said hello to everyone. S/he went to sleep quite early though so no sound at night. During our tour we stayed in three different hotels around Madeira and this is the one I’d return to if I was travelling back, it’s great value with friendly staff and fantastic amenities and location.

Nice basic hotel. Very clean but little heat. No heat during the day and at night limited. Slept with my clothes on. Restaurant staff very unfriendly, but food was great. Need to say front desk staff was nice. Just really cold rooms

We were dumped here by Tui when a flight was cancelled. It was OK. The check-in process was good and the room itself was clean. However, it was very old-fashioned (there was no headboard for the double bed). The place is idiosyncratic (there are keyboards and typewriters everywhere!) and is badly in need of an update. I thought the lift was scary. To be honest, it felt more like a walkers’ hostel than a hotel. However, the reception staff were excellent, they went out of their way to be helpful and were the hotel’s saving grace.

For the price paid (approximately £34 via *********) for 1x night - I consider the hotel exceptional value. Though I didn't use the spa facilities or pool, at a glance they looked to be of a high standard. The hotel itself is situated in the centre, 30 seconds from the plaza, and various bus stops and a 40 minute hard power walk to the start of the upper waterfall trails. The breakfast was superb with plenty of bacon rashers and even gluten-free bread which was a bonus. The reception staff were very helpful, professional and kind. I will return, and as such I am happy to recommend to all.

I stayed here just for one night as part of a tour of Madeira. Check in was quick and the room easy to find. Inside the room, everything was very clean and well presented. A big, comfortable bed meant a good nights sleep. In the restaurant, the food was very good, plenty of good local meat on a skewer and a good selection of local wines. The location is perfect to explore the lively and colourful market in Santana.

For me one of my best hotel stays on Madeira. Nice very large rooms coupled with great dinner service and much improved hot breakfast options (from when I stayed 5yrs ago) made the whole experience (of returning) very worthwhile.

A comfortable but old dated establishment in need of a face lift. It wouldn't take much to turn this hotel around into something amazing but I imagine the owners/management are not interested in spending even a little money to raise the standard of the hotel a little higher. First impressions of the lobby are like going back in time, nothing appears to have changed in years, felt like I was walking into a hotel museum. The lift could do with better lighting, a large mirror and no menu stuck to the wall in a plastic document cover, the arm chair and rug in the corridor on the way to the rooms have clearly never been steam cleaned, better if they were not there. This hotel has clearly seen better days, but that must have been during a period in the last century. But, as long as they are making money, the owners must be very happy, were it mine, I would be rather sad.

Spacious and clean rooms; nice bathroom with shower in bath tub; large breakfast buffet with great choice; excellent dinner and good wines; friendly and helpful staff. Indoor pool also available. Highly recommended!
