This hotel is located in the middle of the action. On one of the main streets. They wrote me ahead of check-in to organize my arrival. One staff was proficient at English and very helpful. Overall a friendly place to stay and i enjoyed it.

The ancient city Pingyao and the Yundingxuan hotel blowed our mind. The hotel provide free pickup from the train station. We took the high speed train arrived at Pingyaocheng station which is around 15 minutes away from the ancient city. When you enter the city wall gate, you will be amazed of the narrow streets and cobblestone road. Picked Yundingxuan hotel because it was closed to the North gate so If the taxi was to dropped us off it’ll be a short walk but the driver dropped us off near the hotel because cars are not allowed within the main streets. The hotel is closed to 200 years old and have characteristics of the Ming and Qing dynasties. I was born in Vietnam, With roots to China but raised up in the US since I was 7 years old. I’ve seen Chinese movies but nothing will prepare you to the hotel and the ancient city. I was surprised how big the hotel complex was. All the staff were very nice, the main host spoke English, and the breakfasts were traditional Chinese breakfast. We stayed two nights and we felt safe throughout our visit. My wife and daughter appreciated the three hotel cats and all the felines throughout the city. I’m sure the other hotels are fantastic and will give your a unique experience but I can vouch for Yundingxuan. Just be prepared to get out your comfort zone but be amazed by the visual and taste of Pingyao Ancient City.

If you want to explore the ancient town of Pingyao, then this hotel is fantastic. It's 15mins away from the high speed railway. They pick up and drop out off outside the city. With the covid regulations in place, the hotel supported me through the process and helped me gain entry into the city. I was then collected and driven to the hotel. Check-in was smooth and the lady helped me to book tickets for the Pingyao theatre show at the same time. I received a free upgrade from a double room to a suite. All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a great experience.

Very helpful staff, beautiful court yards!

The experience was very good, the service was good, the hotel location was good, and it was convenient for travel. I wouldn't get lost, haha. The hotel has travel photography, and I took photos. The quaint courtyard is also a great place to take photos. It's a very good travel experience. I will come here again next time.

This is my second stay. The hotel retains the original style of the Shanxi Merchants' Courtyard. The elderly like it very much, and the children also love it. The service is very good, and there are two very cute kittens in the yard.

The service of the front desk staff is really considerate, and it feels like home. The upgraded big kang is also very comfortable. It gave this short trip in the scenic area a very good experience. I will definitely come again next time!

The whole yard is antique and has an ancient city atmosphere. The room our family stayed in was relatively close to the inside, and the two beds were large and comfortable to sleep in. The front desk service was also very good. Since the previous guest checked out late, we left our luggage at the front desk and went to visit the ancient city. Next time I come to the ancient city, I will book here again.

The hotel is in a great location and is very warm. The hotel also provides travel photography, which is perfect in one step. The photos are great and the service is also great.

Many celebrities have been here. The facilities are complete, clean and sanitary. The location is very good. The hotel also has travel photography. The quality of the photos is superb. The location is right in the center of the scenic area. I recommend it to everyone.
