Berjaya Hotel Colombo Reviews

This hotel was one of the most surprising I’ve stayed at. I have never heard of a hotel making it compulsory for guests to pay for a Gala dinner on December 31st. Nowhere on their website or the Trip.com app was it mentioned that guests are required to pay $30 USD per person before booking. Instead, they only inform you after you've made your reservation. When I arrived and checked in, the customer service representatives told me I had to pay $120 USD for four people attending the Gala dinner. When I explained that I didn’t want to attend, they refused to give me the room key. As for the Gala dinner itself, there were very few options for vegetarians, but the desserts were quite good. Regarding the room, the bed frame was chipping, and the chairs had noticeable dark stains. While the hotel has a beautiful beachfront view, there's a train track directly in front, and every time a train passes, the noise is extremely loud. If you're planning to stay here for New Year's, I strongly recommend calling the hotel in advance to confirm their policies. On a positive note, the young front desk staff were polite and helpful.

Good place. Nice staff. Great swimming pool. But need more maintenance on room. Very old and lots of ants. My daughter got bites.

It is very convenient to be next to La** Beach. The room is a bit old. The staff said it was opened around 2000. It is a bit old, but the service attitude is super good. I also like the breakfast. It is very cost-effective. I think I will choose here next time I come to Colombo

The hotel was probably once gorgeous, now it's just not bad. The furniture is old, the walls are shabby, some things (like switches) could be wiped more thoroughly. But overall the impressions were positive. The breakfasts are hearty, the bed and bed are comfortable, the pool is simply gorgeous. True, on weekends locals come to swim, for an additional price. And on weekdays it is quiet and calm, you can wait a very long time for your drink from the employee. There is a railway next to the hotel, trains run all day, you won't get much sleep during the day, but at night there are no trains, nothing will interfere with your sleep.

Everything is terrible, dirty, it's just impossible to be there. It stinks and everything is rusty.

Overall, it was okay, but things were a little slow. I had to wait for an hour to check in. The WiFi was sent by the housekeeper after contacting Ctrip customer service. There are basically no people in the area who speak Chinese. The hotel has a swimming pool, breakfast is included, you can see the beach, and the train passes by at 5 o'clock in the morning. In terms of value for money, it's pretty good. Go out to the main road, about 600 meters away, and then on the right, there is a supermarket and KFC
