Quest Properties in Melbourne

This review is specifically for Quest Melbourne Airport, not the entire brand. I booked this hotel because they advertised as pet-friendly, and I was on a road trip with my dog at the time. I initially booked for July 18th, but due to a last-minute change in my itinerary, I contacted the hotel more than a week in advance to reschedule. I was informed that the original booking was non-refundable. Although frustrated, I accepted this policy. Subsequently, I rebooked for July 16th. What truly disappointed me was this: just two days before check-in, after I had already confirmed I would be bringing my dog and provided my check-in details, the hotel suddenly informed me that I needed to pay an additional AUD 117, which included a mandatory room upgrade, pet fee, and parking fee. I understand that different room types may have different regulations, but if an upgrade was truly necessary, this should have been clearly stated during booking, or even when we spoke on the phone, not sprung on me so close to check-in when I had almost no other options. It's not that I'm unwilling to pay a reasonable fee for my pet. On the same trip, I stayed at pet-friendly hotels in Canberra and Sydney, and even a five-star hotel in Melbourne. Some also charged pet fees, which I was perfectly fine with because the fees were transparent from the start, allowing me to make an informed decision before booking. After multiple communications, I finally connected with an employee who genuinely listened and helped me get the manager's approval to refund the second booking. I am very grateful for this employee's professionalism and attitude. With Ctrip's assistance, I cancelled the second reservation and did not stay. However, the loss from the first booking was irreparable. A reminder to other travelers, especially those with pets or booking through Ctrip: always call the hotel directly before placing your order to confirm all possible fees, including pet fees, parking fees, and whether your chosen room type allows pets, to avoid unexpected and unavoidable charges close to check-in. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.

We arrived early in Melbourne but the hotel was able to give us our rooms around 11:30am! We are so happy that we can rest in our room for a while before heading out for the day! Thank you so much for this special arrangement! Overall the room was comfortable and clean. View is perfect overlooking the carousell in the dockland bay. There’s a mall just over 5 mins from the hotel where the restaurants are. The location is very convenient, and the tram is a few minutes walk from the hotel. We highly recommended this for families!

Suggest for larger room (not the standard one) so you can also have the washing machine and dryer inside your room for convenience. Love it.

Very clean, well-equipped, with good supermarket and shopping mall facilities in the surrounding area. It is about half an hour's drive from the city center CBD. It is an apartment worth staying in for families

Pros: Great location near the harbor with beautiful views, and convenient transportation. The cabinets and kitchenware are fully equipped and very easy to use! However, the bathroom needs some improvement: 1. The shower only has an overhead rain shower, no handheld spray, which is not very convenient to use. 2. There's no clothesline or drying rack on the wall, so there's nowhere to hang towels or washed clothes. 3. The toilet lid doesn't have a soft-close mechanism, so it closes quickly and heavily with a loud bang. 4. It would be great to add a soap dish; otherwise, the soap slides around and gets soggy when left on the sink.

The hotel was just good enough to sleep in, in todays day and age charging for things like water are just not justified and shows that the level of the hotel is not up to mark

Kai and Ahmed at the front desk were just wonderful. They were very helpful and friendly. The location is great with Brighton Baths diagonally opposite and the beach within easy reach. The room was well-equipped and really spacious. It was however quite dated and could use a deep clean and some basic maintenance.

Wonderful stay at the Quest Preston. Jasmine welcomed us and gave us an 11am check out, which we were very grateful for after a family gathering which ran very late. The apartment was clean, the bed was super comfy, the tea, coffee, hot chocolate and Tim Tams were greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. We will most definitely be back, thank you so much 😍

Only stayed one night to work in quite and great for that. Apartment was spacious and had everything you need however it had an odd lay out . A coffee station near kitchen but mire in lounge then a weird desk that was used as a pots and oan cabinet closer to lounge as well . Huge amount of pots and pans but not ione knife. Just nit thought out from perspective if patron. Tga stret its situated on is amazing. The church opposite is special. Infact every building was old and architecturally beautiful.. great place to stay in autumn with the shedding leaves for effect.. it was quiet and was nice but decoecboring, drab, and oddly laud out. I like to feel a warmth and inviting energy when I enter a hotel this was just there to give you twhsy u need to stay away from home for a night in a 1 bedroom apartment in a picturesque street in stkilda....

The location is a bit out of the way; it takes about a 15-minute walk to reach the tram station. The surrounding neighborhood feels a bit dodgy, but the hotel management is quite good. We arrived after midnight and there was still someone on duty.
