Wonderful location within the CBD, near multiple tram stations and QVM. On Sunday (our second night of stay), housekeeping left a note saying that she did not make the bed because there were personal items on the bed. Have never heard of this reason before. Housekeeping on other days were fine

Before I went to Melbourne, I had had the negative experience of Mercure in Thailand and I didn't want to choose it, to be honest, but I didn't have any choice because the price and location were better than other places.
Wow. I was surprise because everything was unexpected
I can say thanks to the hotel
1.The location is good and it is located in the CBD. Convenient transportation, lots of Asian restaurants, supermarkets and convenient stores. It is not far from the place I had to work.
2.The staff are great and helpful with service mind. Yes, I found a Thai girl staff who is really nice. We received the good service. Even though, the policy is they clean the room 1 in 3 days, but I was ok because we had to save the world.
3.The size of the room is small and the size of the beds were small too but enough for sleeping well and everything in the room was clean and function well.
4.No water bottles. I understood that we had to drink water from the tab. I was used to it because I knew it well, but my boss was not used to it and couldn't accept this. Please make the remark in the booking or put a paper in the room so that some people can prepare themselves for this culture. However, thanks for the milk in the fridge.
Just positive experiences with this hotel this time. Thanks to you all

We booked a quick trip to Melbourne for the footy. Because it was only 1 night we booked only a basic king room, and I also wanted to avoid a noisy 09 room. Arrived at reception to be informed they had upgraded us to an 09 room. I told the check in agent I did not want that room, despite it being an upgrade, and would be quite happy with the original room booked. She insisted on contacting the manager and they eventually moved us to an executive suite. This was a large and comfortable room, excellent bathroom and shower and comfortable bed. We did not notice any loud noise from Swanston Street from this suite. Quick trip up to the club lounge for a few drinks and nibbles before footy. Drink selection improved since our last visit and now a selection of spirits is available. Club lounge has nice staff. Breakfast there in the morning was also good. The club lounge has very nice decor. Will be back for 3 nights in August so hopefully will be as enjoyable.

Space is the first hostel of my trip and it’s set the bar pretty high! Staff are lovely, everywhere was always super clean, beds are comfy, towels are provided and you can even grab a fresh one every day if you wish. Location is great, would recommend the Queen Victoria Market for something to do and “pizza pizza pizza” was lush. There’s nothing “on” as such at the hostel but this didn’t bother us. The only thing that would be good is some extra fridges as they were packed full every day and it was hard to put your own food in anywhere. Would definitely come back.

I stay in hotels A LOT! But except for one other occasion, I've never bothered to leave reviews. But this place is one of the more questionable hotels I've stayed at for several reasons. The hotel: - they charged my credit card the full fee a day BEFORE I checked in. They have a 24 hr cancellation period with minimal one night charge yet they still took it upon themselves to charge me before I actually checked in - very unethical - they want a photo of government issued ID. Weird, with all the crazy data breaches occurring, it's recommended private entities DO NOT store this unnecessary data, yet they still expected a copy. I didn't provide it, just let them sight it upon check in - the pics used to promote the apartments are stretched out and misleading. The actual apartment is small, very small if you consider the costs incurred - photos online make it look like there is a bathtub, (and when I called the hotel to check, the person I spoke to told me there was a bathtub) but there actually isn't any which is VERY inconvenient when travelling with a companion who can only use a tub (for accessibility reasons) - they don't do housekeeping every day. You can ask for fresh towels but goodluck getting a vacuum or dirty bin emptied. The actual apartment - there is no ducted air conditioning. On a hot day (was 35° when I checked in) I needed to blast the AC at 18° (we froze in the living area) just so cool air can seep into the bedroom and cool it down so we can sleep - the actual apartment was very dirty. Tiles had previous occupants hair on the floor, carpet is stained in multiple locations, glass doors and outside balcony railing dirty with hand prints and smudges - minimal crockery and cutlery provided. Only one drinking glass provided - no tea towel provided - phone in room not set up. Had to call reception from my mobile to report issues - oddly there are very few electrical ports in the living area. Difficult to charge devices - there is no shelving in the wardrobe, and it's difficult to tidy anything up or pack things away. Only one storage shelf and you need a ladder to access it - the railing for the wardrobe is so high, one needs to be over 7 foot to use it - to access the bathroom, one needs to go through the bedroom so it's really hard to have one person stay up while another sleeps - the bathroom doesn't have a drain so any access water needs to be mopped with the towels to avoid a slip hazard (problematic as they only give you 2 towels and don't do daily room service) - there are NO clothes hooks in the bathroom The positives: Overall the staff were pleasant and friendly. Every staff member I spoke to in person was hospitable, helpful and very kind. The blockout blinds were good and the sound proofing was great. They also accommodated late check out. I felt very disappointed as I travel to Melbourne monthly and was very disappointed to pay premium costs for accommodation but get what I consider inadequate facilities. I'd only recommend s

Fantastic location, tram station is just down the road and it is within the free tram zone. Walking distance to the main CBD area as well. There’s plenty of food options around the hotel. It comes with a fully functioning kitchen, I guess it is great for family, other than that, the room is rather basic. Bed is a bit too soft for my liking.

Excellent location. All branded shoppings & fine dinings are within walking distance. Hotel staff are extremely friendly & helpful. l would rate their service better than those from Park Hyatt Melbourne.
Only complaint was the poor sound proof. l can hear noices from neighbouring room clearly. This is a let down that the hotel gotta look into it.

This apartment was ideal - it had all you would need for a week long stay - washer, dryer, dishwasher. It was larger than my sons apartment in Canada Water in London. I could stream my own things on the TV - separate bedroom and lounge area. Safe in room. Plus a super unexpected bonus the room had a balcony. I would certainly recommend this to any traveller for short or longer stays. Plus there a lovely little friendly bar just a few minutes walk and Flinders station 10 min walk. If i come back to Melbourne i would stay here for sure.

Outstanding
GGuest UserThis is a very nice resort. The interior is very clean and large. Bed is comfortable and toilet is good with jacuzzi. You will see kangaroos and cockatoos outside the cottage in the morning and evening. My kids enjoy the stay very much. However you need to either cook your own meals or drive out to eat. The drive is about 15 mins.
GGuest UserWould I recommend Holiday Inn little Collins...yes I would...but there were a few negatives to our stay Location is excellent close to Sth Cross Station and the free tram network. Breakfast included is a bonus and the selection was great. Hot sausage, hash browns, scrambled eggs, toast, cereals, pastries and mini muffins as well as the milk, orange juice, tea and coffee (with barista made at a cost by the reception/bar located in the same area. Staff were welcoming, helpful and pleasant. On the negative side I must add that during our 4 night stay housekeeping came the first morning. After that nothing so our wet towels sat waiting for collection. When calling for clean towels I was directed to collect them from reception. The next day we encountered the same issue...after leaving the room most of the day we returned again to find housekeeping hadn't been. This time when I called reception they organized to send a crew up pretty quickly. I expect the main reason behind this was they were fully booked with Manchester united fans in for the weekends game but as a mum the occasional opportunity to actually have someone tidy and replace towels is a novelty that I take full advantage of so was disappointed in this part of our stay. Beds and linen were clean but again housekeeping let us down with the floors...carpet had definitely not been cleaned in a while ...our socks picked up various dark long hair and bark/dirt..gross. One last issue was the invoice received for our stay..all good and as expected however $50.75 more was actually taken out of my visa. Having to make another phone call to have this explained was ridiculous. It's a bond...totally understand and it's refundable after the room is checked BUT why not add a small note to the invoice explaining this and save the guest and your team time explaining the extra charge?? Overall it was a decent stay and I would recommend but the issues above need to be ironed out quickly.
GGuest UserEven I just spent one night in the hotel, my experience was really good, the service was amazing as the guy from reception is very friendly. The room was smaller than expected but clean that is the most important for me, 7 mins walking distance from the southern station, very convenient location.
QQiyuehubaobaoThe hotel is in a great location, with many restaurants, supermarkets and subway stations nearby, which is quite convenient. The hotel is equipped with a parking lot, which is much cheaper than outside. You can get more discounts by becoming a member of the hotel. The front desk can provide conversion sockets for free, and there are front desk staff who can speak Chinese. This is a hotel worth recommending.
We were excited to give a new hotel a try as an Accor plus gold member and made booking through the app but received no upgrade, welcome gifts or welcome drinks on check in. I later asked about welcome drinks and did receive 2 vouchers despite being a booking for 4 and later had chocolate and water sent to the room. Tried to arrange the shuttle for the next morning departure but was booked out well in advance, the walk isn't far but a little hard with young kids with cot, pram and luggage. Tried the pool which was very good but needs some more seating around it. Had dinner at the restaurant but was very average the pizza and kids meal were just ok but my wife's fish was under cooked and took a long time to re cook. We ordered soft serve for dessert but after a 30 minute wait we had to cancel it. The kids meals were added to the Accor plus bill so the discount rate was diluted more than should have. Overall was a very disappointing despite being neat and new service is lacking.
GGuest UserOur first part of our experience was with Cameron from the Service Team. There was an issue in our room 0804 whereby the air conditioning was not functioning and blowing constant hot air ( over 25.5 degrees ) into the room. Cameron was promptly on the scene and explained what he was going to investigate however after a very warm night he himself made all the arrangements with Lisa on the front desk to move us to another identical type room 1304 and assisted us with the move. Cameron's attitude and proactive actions were first class. Well done Cameron. We were on a 4 night prepaid package however after 2 nights we received some distressing news in relation to a critically ill family member . I went down to reception in a very distressed state and spoke with Lisa on the Front Desk who was very empathetic and understanding and could not have been more supportive. Lisa then went and spoke to her Manager and returned and advised that I would be contacted by Luxury Escapes re the situation and our cutting short our holiday . As fortune would have it we were able to get flights back to Sydney that afternoon, got back to our home and off to the hospital to spend 45 minutes with our family member before they passed away. The empathy and personal approach taken by Lisa will remain with me forever at such a critical time in our life. Finally we received an email from Luxury Escapes which stated that Novotel Melbourne on Collins had refund half our prepaid fee and agreed to adjust the package to 2 nights instead of the original 4 nights. The hotel did not have to do that , especially considering the urgent exit we had to make so I thank the Hotel Manager Lisa spoke with as he/she has made that decision . We will be coming back to Melbourne when life gets back to normal and after our experience there is only 1 hotel we will consider staying in and that is Novotel Melbourne on Collins.
AAnonymous UserThis hotel has the worst service of any Hyatt I have ever stayed at. The overall staff was absent-minded, and no one ever answered the front desk phone or room service. Several times we had to run downstairs to communicate with the front desk. There are no bathrobes in the hotel, which is the first time I have encountered this.
GGuest UserNot recommended for those who value their personal data security and privacy.
Not recommended for internati9nal travellers who may not have enough charge on their phones to complete 3 forms, then download and set up an app that requires constant internet and Bluetooth connections.
Booking required multiple insecure methods of sharing credit card details and identification documents along with 2 forms to fill out with personal details and an app to download in order to gain access to the Building entrance, Elevator, and Apartment.
None of this information was given to me prior to booking. I would not have stayed here if I had known the extent of insecure transmission of personal information and amount of admin and work required just to check in and stay one night. I work in this space and know the risks. Management is putting guests personal data at risks with the excessive documentation requests.
FYI, requiring someone to send credit card PICTURES and ID pictures over email is completely insecure. This is bizarrely at odds with the excessive security to get into the building.
The constant need to carry your phone everywhere or you'd be locked of the apartment or even the whole building was extremely stressful.
In terms of the actual room, once I got in, the bed, kitchen, lounge and floors were clean but the toilet had not been cleaned in a long time. This was not nice. You could see parts under the rim had not been cleaned in years. Toilet had also been recently used and not flushed properly upon arrival. I did not take photos of any of this, it was too gross.
I ended up buying paper cups as the glasses/cups as those supplied were not clean, tried to take a picture but it's hard to see. They were covered in fingerprints and fibres of some kind.
The view was nice and loungeroom was great, study nook was extremely handy for remote work. Balcony tiles are moving and could be a tripping hazard. Laundry was well equipped but did not have time to use it.
GGuest UserOur stay was OK in as much as the bed and bathroom were acceptable for the price. - when the price is $125 or so. The trick is while they advertise $125 a night, Friday and Saturday night the prices goes off the scale. So read your proposal, even if you're in a rush. There are lot better rooms around at around $200 or more. We stayed 4 nights and extended another - a Saturday. (Family matters nearby). The gentleman said $120 for the extra night but when I got my statement it was $189! It was then I realised I was charged that for Friday too. Re-educated in touch and go and not bothering with the receipt. Sure these prices are not exorbitant in this day an age - for a reasonable establishment. While in the room the basics were reasonable, the room had a toaster and microwave but no bread plates or cutlery, only small bowls. Asked at reception and was give some disposable cutlery and pasta bowls . Great for toast! Apparently people keep stealing them or breaking them. So charge them and have something reasonable for reasonable people! The door didn't latch either without a heft with your shoulder and then caught only by millimetres. The chain was on and the chairs in place, don't worry. The room was only serviced once during our stay after we asked. The garbage truck came at 4.00Am or so and emptied multiple skips just nearby (on the premises) with all the beeping and backing, hydraulic whining, and diesel roaring you'd probably accept at $120 odd dollars a night, but really? My partner was ready to walk in the first five minutes with her usual abuse of my miserliness. As you might have guessed, the pricing issue is what really gets up nose. The rest you probably expect and accept for a cheaper deal. But next time we're near Lilydale we may well pay $189 but we'll be looking for $189 value.
GGuest UserLara accommodating well verse for their amenities, Pai ,Mandy and Kiz money worth for their massage service and charmaine serving us for the high tea that we have very polite and good service, over all experiences worth celebrating my birthday gift from my children. Happy to recommend to my family and friends. Double birthday celebrations for me and my sister .
