0/100 0 STARS HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED! On Sunday 27th March at 5:30pm I spoke to the Manager. I had booked and paid for three nights accomodation through Agoda. I had a booking email, Booking ID and Booking paid receipt as well as my bank statement proving I had paid and had a valid booking. She refused to accept my booking. She said I would need to pay triple the amount if I wanted to stay there. She said they didn't even advertise on agoda but when I showed her that the hotel was on agoda she denied it. It seemed like an elaborate scam to make u pay triple the price. Really bad experience. Buyers beware stay aware from this place. 0/1000 Highly not recommended.

Close to public transport, overall not a bad hostel but it lacks cleanliness, the rooms and bathrooms smell bad.

This is like a backpacker hotel, but there are also single rooms for singles. Because it's cheap, you can't expect too much of it. Although breakfast is included, its breakfast is difficult to swallow. You should prepare your own breakfast. Don't expect cheap hotels to be good, then this backpacker hotel is not bad. Because there are so few cheap hotels here. Overall I give 50 points.

The room is a suite, everything is available, very close to the museum, and there is a tram nearby.

We booked our stay via bookings.com in September 2019 for three weeks during the start/middle of October. After our booking was processed, we were asked what time we would arrive, we let the owner know we would be there around 8pm. When we arrived, no one was present. There was a number left on the wall for us to ring when we arrived, we rang the number and got no answer. We waited an hour and a half and no one turned up. Both the back and front doors where open, hence how we where able to get into the building. The front door was unable to be closed due to a busted lock. There where no locks on any of the dorm rooms and every single bed was covered in dirty linen which contained faeces and urine, the smell was horrendous. There was piles of dirty washing left around the hostel, it was clear the place had been neglected for some time. There where nitrous oxide canisters covering some of the beds and although I understand it is a hostel and things like this do happen, that combined with faeces stained linen though isn't acceptable. The sprinkler system had gone off in the past and not been replaced and live wires where hanging out of the walls. Bookings.com initially said there was nothing much they could do and the owner was refusing to refund us, when they emailed her about our complaint, she was very quick to respond saying 'we had 'no basis for a refund'. We then contacted the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal who explained we would need to message the owner and give her some time to come to an agreement with her. Unfortunately, making a case through them can take time so we contacted the bank, who agreed (because they where based in the UK) they would do a charge back to our card and our money would be returned to us. When we tried to message the owner to come to an agreement, her exact words where that the property 'has no electrical issues whatsoever, is properly looked after on a daily basis and is totally safe'. The lights didn't turn on properly, the place was nearly pitch black and we had to use our lights on our phone. There was faeces on beds and dirty linen everywhere, I wouldn't exactly call it hygienic and the sprinklers where broke. The toilets didn't have proper locks on and the kitchen was revolting. My advice, stay clear! We won the charge back claim and our money was returned to us via the bank two weeks later!

Will never stay here again. Main purpose of a hotel is to sleep and shower but couldn't do either here. The bed was a rock. Pillows were bricks. Even though we had a back room, the noise was still bad. After a terrible sleep, wanted to wake up with a coffee, but milk pods weren't replaced. Though I'd wake up with a shower, but the shower head flopped against the wall, and would not tighten to stay up. Tried to shower by holding it up, but water shot out of both joints and hit me in the eyes, so would need 4 hands, one to hold it up, 2 to stop water spraying me in the eyes and and other to wash. Room was filthy with marks on walls that could easily rub off, bottle caps under couch cushions. Fixtures were coming off the walls, paint was badly chipped. Toilet seat was too far back, so if you sit forward, you pee on the floor, if you sit back to end up with brown mess down the back. Don't mind if a hotel is very dated (which this one was), but expect a hotel to fulfil the basic needs of a hotel. Spend $50 more and stay a block down the road and a much better place. Stay anywhere but here.
