The Okura Okazaki Bettie is a beautifully designed modern hotel and was the perfect choice for our combined business/leisure visit to Kyoto. The location was reasonably close (short taxi ride) to excellent restaurants and sights in the culturally historic area east of the river. The guest room quality, cleanliness and comfort is excellent - finished to a high standard with large windows overlooking the garden below and temples beyond. Breakfast was served in the restaurant overlooking the hotel's own zen garden. The choice of either ”Kyoto”or ”American” breakfast was amazing, beautifully presented bento style, exceptionally fresh, plentiful and delicious. Indeed this was one of the best hotel breakfasts ever. Finally the service level is exceptional. Both management and staff did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable and hassle free. Neither the most nor least expensive option in Kyoto - just simple great value. We look forward to returning next time.

This Ritz-Carlton location sitting on Kamogawa and Hagashiyama mountains, is one of the best locations to stay in Kyoto. The architecture is gorgeous on every level as you enter the hotel. You feel transported to a particular place that you will never forget. In addition, the quality of service the Ladies and Gentlemen provides goes above and beyond any other Ritz-Carlton location. Staying at the Kamogawa Executive Suite was an unforgettable experience. Approximately 1350 sq. ft., the suite provides luxury accommodations that exceed the highest expectations of any guest. The bathroom is gorgeous, especially the bathtub, where the wall and bathtub are decorated with sakura flowers. The bed is comfortable, and the living room is quite spacious. One thing I would have loved to see inside this room is a Genkan to place shoes as you enter the suite. Preserving the floor and rug is necessary and educates foreign guests about the importance of doing this. Another aspect that I loved about this place was Mizuki. Every morning I visited it for a Japanese-style breakfast, and it was a fantastic experience. In addition, I went to one of their sushi demonstrations and felt that I had a lifetime supply of sushi. Every bite was delicious, and the chef went above and beyond to make every guest feel special. Please make reservations for kaiseki, tempura, teppanyaki, and of course, sushi during your stay in advance. The spa is also a must if you are staying in this location. It is one of my most relaxing experiences, and the facilities are excellent. As you enter the spa, all the details regarding the walk to the counter or attendant, the changing room, and the pool area are planned quite well, so the guest can feel extra special and disconnected from reality. Finally, I must recognize the Ladies and Gentlemen's hard work and dedication at the Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto. Thank Ana and Naoto, for your friendly welcome to the hotel and making things possible during my stay. Chef Tomohiro Goda and his team provided an experience I will never forget at Mizuki. Naoki was friendly and helpful as I researched information. Pablo and Thain were attentive to my needs as I left the hotel and provided a great experience as I checked out. Special thanks to Carlos for leading such a fantastic Ritz-Carlton property in Japan and consideration prior to my stay. This is one of the top Ritz-Carlton properties I have stayed in, out of 25 Ritz-Carlton. I will cherish all the memories that I gained from this place and will make sure to come back in the future.

This is a wonderful hotel with heartfelt hospitality from arrival to departure. Both the hotel and guest rooms are furnished with elegant interiors and furnishings, allowing you to enjoy a high-quality stay. The manager and other staff members are warm and considerate, and rather than staying at a hotel, I feel a sense of security as if I had just returned to my villa. The rooms are spacious, with spacious furniture and beds, and beautiful tea utensils in the tea room. There is a mini kitchen with a sink, which is nice for rinsing teaware and glasses. All drinks in the room are free. You can look at the miniature garden while having a drink on the sofa. I also liked that there was no TV in the room. The washbasin can be used comfortably with a double sink. There was a steam iron in the closet, which was useful for removing wrinkles from the clothes I took out of my suitcase. There is an open-air bath on the upper floor, which can be rented out. The next day's check-out time is 12:00, so I was able to enjoy the open-air bath in the morning, and it felt great. Recommended for villas in Kyoto.

Visited in September 2017. It is next to Okazaki Jinja shrine on the north side of Heian Jingu shrine. If the vicinity of Okazaki kaguroya is for travel purposes, it is just right, the bus stop is close, there are supermarkets and convenience stores, and it is convenient. However, if you try to go to other areas, you can use the bus to some extent, or if you are not a car user, you will be very difficult to move. The hotel itself is quite old, but the room is renewed little by little and the interior is brand new. It seemed to be a little chighug renovation, but it is not bad. It is good to feel both nostalgia and newness. The old-fashioned tourist hotel is comfortable with a relaxed construction, complete public bath. There are several direct shuttle buses to Kyoto Station, so you can use it if you schedule it.

I went by car, but the parking lot is also on the back side of the building, and I would like to do some sightseeing after checking out, so I was very grateful to hear the question if I could stop. The staff was very friendly and I was able to spend a pleasant time. Is the main building mainly a Western-style room? I think the annex on the back side is mainly Japanese-style rooms. Speaking of which, it was a pity that the underground bath could be taken until midnight but not early in the morning. The location is good, about 10 minutes on foot to Higashiyama Station on the Tozai Subway Line, and you can walk to Nanzenji Temple and Eikando. I would like to use it again.

The hot springs are very good, although not the best hot spring experience, but the meeting is very memorable, fully aware of the chef's warm cuisine, there are several very well handled delicious! The hotel is old-fashioned, but very tidy, the room is not very big, but everything is enough, there are snack cookies next to the tea bag, if you like, the shopping department on the first floor can buy. Slippers are old-fashioned, feet are a bit difficult to wear, put disposable two pieces of paper insoles for the guests, but just on the shoes is removable, does not mean that the wear will clean up much, interestingly, you will see the guests left in the corridor these white insoles XD room and bath have Skin care products, even a foot and joints of a cream, but unfortunately shopping department has sold out.

The place is very good. When I go to the hotel where I am going to Bus from Kyoto Station, although there are 10 stops, there is no need to transfer. The fare is 230 yen per person. It is also very convenient to play Kyoto Station from the hotel when you leave, and the fare is less than 2,000 yen. During the period, the hotel’s front desk called the taxis, and they all came in a few minutes. The place is good. If you want to walk, you can walk to the ”Flower Road”, which seems to be about 3 kilometers. The area should be the most lively place in Kyoto. There are many Chinese people, including the northeastern dialect, Sichuan dialect and Hunan dialect. . . Breakfast can be a pity not to eat in your own room :) There are very few soup pools on the first floor, and it seems to be a private one for two days. There is no view outside the hotel and there is no expectation from the resort. . Clean is basic, overall good!

It took us a while to find this hotel. It is situated in the side streets of Kyoto. A bit far from everything. Not much cafes and restaurants are found within the vicinity of this hotel. The check in process is a bit frustrating especially if you’ve traveled far and walked a long while prior to check in. There is no personnel to assist you. No complimentary bottled water. No convenience store nearby which is odd if you are in Japan. The nearest Family Mart is probably 300m away. The room is planned well. There is ample space to walk around despite having 3 luggages. There is a little tub in the bathroom and electronic toilet.

We had a delightful few days at this lovely ryokan. Service was super friendly and welcoming. The room was cosy and traditional (futons on floor, with thick, warm duvets). The location is great, just a short walk to a quiet station which will take you to Gion and Pontocho in a few stops. The same train line also links to local routes which will take you to several of the less busy temples. If you are lucky enough to be here for the autumn leaves as we were then you should see Enkoji and Shisen-do (they are next to each other): sublime! We stayed overnight for the event at Okazaki Park. It was corresponded to a small number at night, and the front desk tended to be absent, but the response was friendly. Because it was empty, I was able to park the car for free from the morning of the day of the stay to the next day and the evening. The room was clean and had a large TV and was comfortable. However, it was a cold day with rain on the day, so the washroom of the rental open-air bath was cold and rainy, and it trembled. The temperature of the jet bus was hot and hot, so I didn't put it immediately, and it was like a punishment game of the variety program. I would like to receive it again if I have a chance because the dishes seemed good.

Living in Japanese tatami, especially can experience, really tatami and solid wood sliding doors, paper paste. No breakfast, the front desk staff is very enthusiastic, although there is no Chinese, but very patient to communicate with us in Japanese and English, the hotel has a large bathhouse, you can go to the bath for free, experience the Japanese bathhouse. The location is near Kumano Shrine, very close to Heian Shrine and National Art Museum. It can be reached on foot in the morning. It is quiet at night. Maybe the location is not very downtown. There are relatively fewer people, and it has more ancient atmosphere and old house decoration. It is very suitable and brings more closeness to the house with heavy historical traces, like an old house in the country. The books on the shelf can be browsed at will. The landlord has also prepared free popsicles in the refrigerator, and the computer can be borrowed, which is very considerate.
