The location is pretty far from Fanjingshan though, you have to get an early bus or pay a 80rmb taxi to the east gate. We went to the west gate which cost us 400rmb but that is far away from everything. I'd suggest staying in one of the villages around the east gate for around the same price and save yourself the hassle of getting up and getting to the gate on time to buy a ticket (foreigners can't book tickets online and they sell out fast)

Great outdoor patio for drying clothing and shoes. Ideal location for runners/hikers/cyclists. Directly across street is a river with nice boardwalk. Folks swim here, as well. Just about two kilometers out is perhaps the most amazing paved road running course in the world. Follow it way, way out as it stretches into the mountains and farmland areas. Incredible. Hotel is about 20-22km from main entrance to Fanjingshan. However, no big deal taking a taxi there. It’s more than worth it to experience hotel here, surroundings in town and beyond, and also visit park. I recommend at least 3 nights here. Many restaurants and shops are all within easy walking distance. Most difficult part is leaving this place…Highly recommended!
