Hotel is great, I always stay at the Five when I’m Dubai. But this will be my last time. DO NOT HIRE ANY CARS FROM LOBBY AREA. They mess around with your deposit it’s been over a month now and I’m still waiting for my deposit payment back. They keep on ignoring my messages, they leave me on read the service is so poor. AVOID the lady Mysa from the car hire company she does not know what she is doing, no training provided whatsoever. Every time I contact her she keeps passing different mobile numbers to me. From the moment we set foot in the hotel to the week later when we left, we cannot compliment enough the attitudes and professionalism of ALL the staff at this hotel. They always had a smile on their face, were very welcoming and went out of their way to help you when you needed assistance. The location of the hotel was quite far out- it cost us 230AED to get from the airport on arrival. But to be honest, after becoming more aware of resources around, we returned back to the airport in a taxi for 30AED. The hotel offers a free shuttle service straight to the Dubai Mall. They have other shuttles to other malls too. Just wish they’d offered more shuttle times to and back from the malls. The latest return to the hotel was 5.45pm. But taxi’s back at later times cost around 80AED. The hotel itself was lovely and clean. The bedroom was airy and spacious. It was cleaned everyday. We had breakfast every day of our stay. I had read reviews before I went about how the breakfast was the same everyday. All I can say to that is that whilst they did offer the same things every day, there is so much variety- from cereals to cooked meals, breads to cakes, fruit, vegetables and salads. We have loved the experience of staying at this hotel and definitely would go back again!

The room is nice. There is a Chinese restaurant downstairs, which is convenient for eating. Breakfast costs an additional 15 dirhams. There is a buffet hotpot in the evening, which is quite cost-effective. There is also brunch tea at noon.

More about Dubai

Introduction to Dubai: A Confluence of Traditions and Futurism

Located on the Eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, in the south west corner of the Arabian Gulf, Dubai is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. Known for its opulent architecture, luxury shopping and vibrant nightlife, Dubai offers an irresistible blend of traditional Arabic culture and futuristic innovation. This city is home to the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, and it boasts an artificial island in the shape of a palm tree, the Palm Jumeirah!

Tips for Travelling to Dubai

Dubai International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world, serves as the primary gateway to the city. The Dubai Metro, taxis, and ride-hailing services like Uber are commonly used to navigate the city.

Visa policies vary depending on nationality, so travellers are advised to check the UAE embassy website in their respective countries. Credit cards are widely accepted and the official language is Arabic, but English is commonly used, especially in business and by the large expatriate population.

As for traditions, remember that the UAE is a Muslim country and visitors should dress modestly in public. Also, the consumption of alcohol is regulated and is typically only allowed within licensed venues.

Unforgettable Attractions in Dubai

Dubai's iconic skyline is dominated by architectural marvels like the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah. Shoppers will find their paradise in the Dubai Mall and the traditional Gold and Spice Souks. For a dose of culture, one can visit the Dubai Museum, Al Fahidi Historic District or the stunning Jumeirah Mosque. The adventurous can explore the vast Arabian Desert on a safari.

Weather in Dubai and the Best Time to Visit

Dubai has a hot desert climate with extremely hot summers (June to September) with temperatures frequently reaching 41°C (105°F), and warm winters (December to March) averaging 24°C (75°F). The most comfortable time to visit is from November to April.

As for clothing, light, breathable fabrics are recommended due to the heat. However, it's also wise to carry a light jacket or shawl, as indoor areas can be heavily air-conditioned.

Selecting the Right Hotel in Dubai

Dubai's hotels are as varied and impressive as its skyline. To stay near main attractions, consider the Armani Hotel inside the Burj Khalifa.

For a food-centric stay, Pierchic offers gourmet dining and is located near various eateries.

For luxury accommodation, the Burj Al Arab is an iconic choice, while budget travellers can consider Rove Downtown, which offers great value.

Business travellers might appreciate the convenient location of Dusit Thani near the business district. Atlantis The Palm offers highly Instagrammable views and interiors. Near the airport, the Dubai International Hotel offers convenient and comfortable lodging.
