My wife and I went for a very short trip to Barcelona and chose this hotel at random . What a great choice and a good bit of luck! Firstly it's location was perfect for us - right on Las Ramblas. Very central. We took the Aerobus from the airport which stopped at Plaça de Catalunya a short distance away from Las Ramblas and obviously our hotel We were welcomed by friendly staff and given a welcome drink. Our room was comfortable and clean and had free drinks in the mini bar; free coffee nespresso machine, a big bed and lots of pillows! There was a very good breakfast choice and you were made to feel like royalty by Max the breakfast waiter - who was always cheerful. The desk staff were very helpful with tips about local food, travelling , booking tickets... Fully a five star service. We will definitely go again to Barcelona and hopefully be able to stay again at this lovely diamond of a hotel.

Location is great in Gothic Quarter, and staff are very nice. But the rooms are very very small! And peculiarly designed. Even small for one person. Toilet separate area of room from sink basin and shower. No where to sit except on bed. Very clean, good TV but uncomfortable room. Breakfast excellent, restaurant very good for dinner, rooftop bar small but attractive with good tapas. Hotel arranges transport as most taxis couldn’t find the hotel on a very narrow windy street!

This is the second time I stayed at this hotel: I stayed here 17 years ago in my first visit to Barcelona although I could not remember much of my experience then. I decided to stay at the Hotel Royal Ramblas in my second visit to Barcelona for 5 nights in September 2022 because of its good location. I must say its location on La Rambla is excellent and exceptional. It is close to many popular tourist attractions, it's just a few minutes walk to Plaza Catalunya metro station, and bus stops at Plaza Catalunya for the hop on hop off buses. Port Veil and the beach are within walking distance. The room we got on the Planta Royal (just one floor above the breakfast restaurant) was comfortable and clean. Although the room is facing La rambla it is extremely quiet during the night. The wifi was fast, the shower was great and the aircon was so quiet and effective. The breakfast was excelent throughout our stay and the staff at the reception were very helpful and freindly. I will definitely recommend this hotel for visitors to Barcelona. One complaint I would like to make is that for a four star hotel, there isn't any tissue paper in the room. I have to buy one box of tissue papers from Carrefour nearby. But in my opinion Hotel Royal Ramblas is an excellent hotel and I would stay there agin in my next visit.

Where do I start we simply loved everything about our stay at the edition. We stayed here April 18th - 21st and the staff specifically the concierge, night bell man on the 18th and front desk were beyond helpful and accommodating. I unfortunately lost the card with their names but those three guys helped my mom and I tremendously - from recommendations, transportations and other tidbits which made our stay very special. Lou Lou on the rooftop was exceptional and actually would remember our morning order which added that extra touch of personalization and guest service. Lisa I believe was her name at the rooftop bar (evening) was also fabulous. The Edition hotel is one of my favorite luxury boutique hotels and the Barcelona one didn’t disappoint - the rooms were gorgeous, clean and well appointed. The rooftop had breath taking views and the bar on the 1st floor was great for a nightcap. On top of the service, great rooms the hotel was in an exceptional location which made exploring super easy! We spent three days here and then moved to the W and it was nowhere near the level of luxury service - quite frankly we regretted having not stayed at the Edition for our entire stay!

Calling it a swimming pool is a lie, feel ripped off. When you select a hotel with a swimming pool, the prices went up by £300-400 for our stay, so a hefty increase, but they didn't have one. It was 1 foot deep, that's not a pool, if you can't swim in it then it's a glorified puddle. Breakfast was vile, only edible part was the croissants, which seems pricey for £9 per day. Bed was relatively cosy, but on wheels and made so much noise any time either of us moved in the slightest. There was a buzzing sound that went off from the fan every 5 seconds, not too bad during the day, but when you're trying to sleep then it was a nightmare. The staff were friendly at reception, the bright spark that kept us from going elsewhere as we were really tempted. Wouldn't book again.

When first booking our trip to Barcelona, it was a little overwhelming the amount of properties one could choose from. After a bit of review and consideration we decided on the Hotel Olivia Balmes. We were most interested in finding a hotel that was centrally located, emphasized comfort and cleanliness, & had in room central air conditioning (given our late summer travel). The hotel hit top marks in all. We also used the pool and ate breakfast which were both excellent. I would not hesitate to book a stay here. The front desk staff were also very kind and available 24 hours a day.

Beaucoup d’américains fréquentent cet hôtel, prestations assez moyennes, prix trop cher, mais un super emplacement ! Il faut absolument baisser le prix !

Arrived at the hotel to find 4 beds squashed into a room. Air conditioning was not working and there was a hole in the ceiling the room smelt of boiled cabbage. The booking said it had an internal view but no main window in the room. The little window in the room could not be opened, which is a health and safety issue! The wardrobe had no hangers or pole. There was very little space to move around, the bath plug did not fit and the shower was fixed the wrong way round. When we complained to reception they were not bothered and said they did not have any other rooms till the day we were due to leave on Monday. As we were not happy with the room the receptionist cancelled our room and left us stranded. Whilst we were in reception other people we coming and complaining about the air conditioning not working. There were holes in the ceilings in the lobby area, breakfast area. Luckily 6 hours later we found a great hotel called hotel Condal bcn who gave great service and all facilities worked. Not sure when the hotel moderno was last inspected but in my opinion it should be shut down.

This hostel is well worth a visit - about fifty metres from La Rambla, the old city - and on the edge of the old city, there are plenty of nearby restaurants, the rooms are clean and tidy, the reception is 24 hours a day, it is the perfect base to explore this beautiful city. The only downside for us was that we had a room overlooking the street and every night at about 1am the local government cleaned the street thoroughly! Very noisy, about half an hour. They also had rooms that couldn't see the street outside. If I come back, I will choose one of these rooms!

HOTEL: The check-in is at another hotel about 100 meters at a parallel road behind the hotel. There's no front desk at the hotel itself and it took us a while to get used to the key less main door. No breakfast. But there's a common area with coffee, tea, water, and a microwave. ROOM: Pretty clean and comfortable. However, the walls are a bit thin. You can hear people walking and talking across the corridor so it may wake you up in the middle of the night. LOCATION: Excellent location. Literally long Ramblas in front of the Boqueria. Ten meters is a metro station so it was just so convenient to go around. VALUE: We were there during the off-peak season so the price was pretty good compared to other competitors in the area. Not sure if this comparative pricing among competitors would remain during peak-season. VERDICT: Definitely an option to go back to especially during the off-peak season.

This is the cheapest hotel in our trip to Spain. In addition to the good location, others are not recommended. We arrived at the hotel entrance at about 5 pm, and the dinner time was still early for the Spanish people. No one can only wait on the roadside of Da Ma. During the period, I called two or three times and said that I don’t know when to come and I dare not go. Open, even the exact time is not given, then there is an appointment for an attraction, that mood. After waiting for more than two hours, the woman and her boyfriend came over and watched the situation is to go out for dinner with friends. I probably knew that I was wrong. I went upstairs and said a lot, the most excessive. Yes, let us pay 52 euros at the same time, saying that it is cleaning fees and city tax, so, three nights more than 5,000 yuan plus 52 euros, nearly 6,000, too uneconomical! ! Also, the balcony mentioned in the reservation is actually only 15cm wide and narrower than the bay window. The apartment was very comfortable and clean, view from balcony was perfect. The manager Javier is very nice person, he did his best do our visit perfect.
