Sometimes you find a hotel or resort that immediately makes you feel calm, relaxed, and grateful you've booked the right place. Bagus Beach Resort is definitely in this category. From the moment I stepped into the vast grounds resplendent with old Bali charm, I knew it was going to feel like home very quickly. I was immediately greeted by the resort manager, Pak Widi, who is extremely friendly and exceedingly knowledgeable about the region's attractions and history, as well as about Balinese culture. Make sure you spend some time talking to him, he's a really lovely guy! The resort itself perfectly captures the mood of North Bali tourism: peaceful, relaxed, slower-paced, it's a bit like stepping back in time to 20 years ago, when travelers stayed for about a month, learnt some Indonesian and Balinese, whiled away the days reading books and walking, and just growing to really love and respect the place. The room I stayed in couldn't have been cozier, and was spotlessly clean. The breakfast prepared by Pak Widi's beautiful wife, Ibu Jero Made, was absolutely delicious - she makes the island's best 'jaje Bali' - traditional sweets. She's extremely talented, and a very kind soul. Bali's tourism industry will be suffering from the impact of Covid-19 for a long time to come, and the more remote parts of the island especially so. If you want to really make your rupiah count, skip the south and head up to the north. You'll be rewarded in spectacular sunsets and grateful smiles for doing so! Thank you so much Pak Widi and Ibu Jero Made, sampai ketemu lagi!

it was the second time i stayed at Rini, the first time was 10 years ago,so this september, when i revisited Bali, i decided to stay at Rini again, cuz the first time i stayed here,i dont have TP account, cant rate it.when arrived,i had their airport pick up,the hotel said i can stop at few attractive spots on the way before drop off,but there’s a long queue at the immigration counter.i took around one hour to go out of the airport,i just stopped for buying sim card at a phone store near kapal village only.when checked in, the lady at the counter helped me, she is friendly and helpful,i booked dolphins tour from her, which cost rp100,000 per person.the two male staffs i met were helpful also, one wake me up in the early morning for the dolphins tour, another one help me to get transport when i needed a one day tour after dolphins tour. the room i stayed is huge and clean, i think they just have renovation. the bathroom looks a bit old,but quite clean. be noted that they dont provide toiletries, they provide towel, toilet paper only. that time i stayed, not many tourists, i had a quiet stay.but dont worry, cuz the place is big,if many tourists, still can have very quiet stay here. i had breakfast at their restaurant twice.i had nasi goreng, banana pancake, fruits platter, also coffee and tea.the food is tasty.the location is great, close to the famous dolphins statue or lovina beach.there are many eateries around ,very convenient. there is a small pool beside the restaurant, but found no time to use it.i hope next time will stay here longer, more time to relax. recommend Rini to those who want a quiet stay in Lovina, and the price is competitive!

Very happy with the room, swimming pool and the service. We arrived quite late around midnight and because we booked the hotel through Trip.com and have settled all the payment, the staff already prepared the room for us upon arrival, we didnt need to go through check-in, they turned on the aircon for us so we could rest immediately in their super cozy room, great design too! having their delicious breakfast at the poolside in the morning was really a delightful experience!

Lovely resort with great facilities and very hospitable and friendly staff. Beautiful sunset views. Too far to walk into the main area of Lovina beach due to the busy road but only a few minutes away in a taxi which was very good value.

More about Bali

Introduction to Bali

Bali, an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, and stunning beaches, is the country's most famous tourist destination. Filled with ancient temples, rich arts and crafts, and a vibrant nightlife, Bali offers a kaleidoscopic blend of natural beauty and cultural depth.

Tips for Travelling to Bali

Bali's main international gateway is Ngurah Rai International Airport, located near the capital city, Denpasar. Travelers can explore Bali through taxis, local buses, bicycles, motorbikes, or even hired cars.

The official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Most hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, but having some cash on hand for local markets and smaller venues is recommended. Indonesian is the official language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

As for visas, many nationalities can enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days, but it's best to check before your journey.

Popular Attractions in Bali

Bali offers a wealth of cultural and natural attractions. Explore the ancient temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, or immerse yourself in the artistic heritage of Ubud, Bali's cultural heart. Visit the Tegalalang Rice Terraces and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary for unique experiences.

Bali's beaches are equally enticing, with Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Nusa Dua Beach offering vibrant beach life. Surfing enthusiasts will love the waves at Uluwatu and Canggu.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear

Bali enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures fairly consistent year-round. The best times to visit are during the dry season, from April to October. Bring lightweight, breathable clothing, a hat, and sunscreen to protect from the sun. Also, remember to dress modestly when visiting temples.

Choosing Your Ideal Hotel in Bali

For luxury beachfront accommodation, consider the Legian Bali or the W Bali in Seminyak. In Ubud, the Hanging Gardens of Bali offers a unique luxury experience with its Instagram-famous infinity pool.

For budget travelers, the Puri Garden Hotel and Hostel in Ubud offers comfort and excellent service. The Dash Hotel Seminyak, with its eclectic and colorful design, is an Instagram-worthy stay.
