I booked a week in Cottage #204 and I am so glad that I chose this beautiful place. It exceeded my expectations and I look forward to returning in 2020. It was quiet, serene, spotless, safe, secure and away from the traffic and craziness of downtown Ubud. The property is in front of a rice paddy/farm and I loved hearing a rooster in the AM. The cottage was spacious, comfortable and cold from great a/c. It had a small living area, fridge, tea kettle, bottled water, garden bath (loved the open air tub), King Bed in a separate area that was heavenly, high grade linens, etc., everything that I needed or wanted. Also, blackout curtains and lots of privacy. Breakfast was included and I was served in an open air pavilion by a great serving staff. The selections were superb and plentiful. I was especially fond of the fresh pressed juices and traditional rice congee dish for breakfast. There are plenty of American/European choices and the servings are huge. The Chef was amazing. The property has a beautiful, elevated pool and open air library with lots of books and fountains to pass the time away. A full service spa and restaurant are on the property and you could easily stay here and never want to leave. The management, staff, housekeepers and gardeners work very hard to make it the perfect escape. The main restaurant, Warung Thor, was far better than anything in downtown Ubud and was half the price of the tourist traps. I loved everything that they offered and was impressed with the thoughtfully designed menu. They also had light snacks, gourmet coffees and gelatos. Their flagship dish is the “crispy duck” and a must do when you are there. A full bar menu is offered along with a complete selection of non alcoholic beverages. If you want pizza, they will make it any way that you like it and they utilize a wood burning oven. If you wish to go into town, the desk offers a free shuttle service into downtown Ubud and they will pick you up at pre set times. I went into town once and that was enough for me. I wanted to return to my location where the food and ambience was better and I did not have to put up with too many tourists. I might add that there are many things within walking distance of the hotel. A very cheap, same day laundry did a week’s worth of my clothing for about $1.25@ USD. They are to the right when you exit the hotel and just beyond, across the street, is a very chic’, trendy, upscale art gallery with a full service cafe’ and free WiFi. I loved going there for coffee and tea. The art work was stunning in this place. Their menu was outstanding and presentations were incredible. I had a salad on one visit that was in the 5 star category and the price was very reasonable. To the left of the hotel are lots of small convenience stores where you can pick up some great deals on snacks and drinks. ATM’s are plentiful. I purchased some great instant coffee gifts and candy to bring home. There is a large hospital to the le

We’ve had the most delightful stay at Angel House Ubud. From the easy pick up at the airport with the lovely Kadek through to the final moment dropping us at our next accommodation, every moment has been enjoyable. The pool is perfect, the garden is luscious, the beds are comfortable and the linen is lovely. Our host was an angel and even accompanied us to a local Balian (healer) for an incredible experience including Balinese water blessing (Melukat) and traditional healing. Translation was so helpful. We enjoyed walking around the (very pretty and safe feeling) local village and market as well as eating at local Warungs (local restaurants) just out the front gate. Getting into Ubud was easy with scooter rental and free shuttle as well as Kadek was available to drive us whenever we needed a car. They’re eco conscious, queer friendly, coeliac, gluten free and vegan friendly if needed. Price included delicious breakfasts and the balinese coffee with coconut cream by the pool with tropical fruit was a daily delight. The staff are absolutely lovely and have been there for many years. We come here at the start of every trip to Bali to remember how to speak some essential Balinese and Indonesian and acclimatise to the environment. Highly recommend for a unique local experience outside of the usual hotel or standard Bali tourist trail.

The location was tricky to find and some distance from Ubud town hence the shuttle service, which is necessary if you don’t have own transport. The upside is it’s peaceful. No external views of rice fields but tree views are nice as are the internal spaces. Bed very comfortable, food excellent and staff lovely. The complimentary massage hard to use - I booked a 1 hr massage & asked to add the 15 mins comp massage to that but it didn’t happen. My partner was not able to use his as no time slot available. There was a timing issue for our dinner delivery. Mine did take longer to cook but we had specifically asked for our dishes to come at same time so we would eat together as we’d had this precise issue elsewhere. They didn’t. My partner was being polite to wait for mine which meant his dinner was cold by the time mine arrived. May sound like a trivial issue but isn’t the point that a couple dining together literally means that?! Overall a pleasant stay.

A perfect place for peace of mind. Almost all you need from a resort near Ubud. Quite, calm environments. Villas are spacious, clean and luxurious. Staff is polite and friendly. Restaurant options could need some improvement. Minor issue: in some plates ingredients not listed on the menu can be included, as eggs in the club sandwich. Gym includes just the very basic. Yoga classes are provided every morning. The only essential point essential for improvement is, in my opinion the extension of shuttle service to Ubud, as the last one is at 10pm. In addition, extension of possible drop-off points more centrally would be nice. Pick up point of shuttle, at Cocomarket Ubud allows you to shop anything you need. Tip: in the Coco Supermarket you shall find most of the souvenirs are sold in other shops, and even more, at reasonable prices.

The hotel is a little out of the way amidst rice fields which is great but while it is quaint to have a view of the rice fields, it isn’t very nice to have the people working hard in the fields look in on the privileged relaxing and enjoying themselves. Even though this isn’t a particularly expensive hotel, and is more in line with being 4 star instead of 5 and is quite affordable for much of the younger crowd, the fact that it is away from the main centre of Ubud means that it isn’t a party hotel which was a nice thing. Quite a few young couples on what looked like their first lovers’ holiday to Bali which was cute. The main pool looked a bit cloudy from the sunblock of the people using it so we kept to the villa pool. The villa was nice and well equipped. Just a couple of niggling things, each room and living room was separate had their own card reader door open to the outside which automatically locked when it was shut. So to prevent insects entering we closed the doors after moving through and had to always use the keys so we were always looking for the keys even when just going to get some water or wash out hands. Also many of these villas in these types of developments tend to be investment properties and while nice, the quality of some things like the door frames and sliding rails were not if the best quality and the doorframe and closer was already damaged as soft wood was used. Not an issue for someone staying but if I were the investor I wouldn’t be happy about it. The food from the restaurant was excellent. Service was excellent too. The living room pavilion was cosy and we are there one evening but an annoying thing is that there is no sink. So we couldn’t wash our hands or cups after having coffees etc. besides that since the place is newish, it is great that there were modern tv’s and lots of universal powerpoints throughout the villas. There is only one shuttle trip back from Ubud town centre at 6:30 so plan your day/evening. I would advise the hotel to have a another shuttle at 7pm to Ubud with a second return at 7:30 just because it would give people the option to head there after lunch at 3pm and come back to the hotel for dinner on that later shuttle.

Friendly greetings at all times, we had the pool access room. The bed was one of the best we've slept in. The shower over the bath wasn't our cup of tea. The room was clean but the bed facing tv didn't work. Once off the main road it was quiet but the night club next door roared to life at midnight. . The breakfast was sensational and varied slightly each day. After hours meals and room service was very accommodating. The fridge was not the greatest in keeping thing chilled but adequate. The pool (the longest I've seen) with a hidden waterslide was lovely and views from the top pool and deck was special

Beautiful hotel. The building, gardens, ocean view, swimming pools, foods and everything. Perfect. I love the main gate they have. Perfect spot for taking pic. The front desk senior staff helped us. More training needed for junior staff. Try to eat in tamarind and order their risotto with scallop. Yummy.

The villa is not well prepared for my family staycation. We had broken tv, bathroom electricity black out at one of the room. Super slow internet even just to watch the Netflix. Not recommended for digital nomad out there. Living room quite dusty and got kinda moldy roof smell when we turn on the fan. Really need to improve the service quality especially for local guest.

Staff is really friendly and respectful. The location is in the main road so you won't be able to enjoy anything in a walking distance however all beaches are 5km away from the location. You can enjoy by renting a scooter from nearby areas. I enjoyed dining at the hotel, they have local and western cuisines. Swimming pool may cost you extra buck if you want to swim. I stay with Aston properties before and I enjoy their service, so I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for affordable yet good service hotels in Bali.

1. The aircon was very loud and noisy . Informed staff and they sent a workman to fix it the next day . It made no difference. They offered to send someone in the following day but i felt it was becoming an invasion of privacy so declined 2. Mosquitoes in the room . I recommend nets over the bed as i was a feast for them overnight . The staff offered fly spray but i didnt want to inhale the toxic staff while there. I checked out a night early as i didnt feel this to be a relaxing experience. The hotel is reasonably priced though and the grounds and architecture pleasant otherwise

It’s the perfect place if you have an early flight - with the most comfortable bed!! Everything is nice and clean and the people are amazingly friendly. I loved how helpful and kind they all were. It’s not at the best location, as Bali has tooo many other beautiful beaches and this hotel is not situated at one of those beautiful beaches. Other than that, I can’t complain at all. I had a great evening there with an early morning flight. The hotel shuttle to the airport was free and they packed a lovely breakfast for me to take to the airport since I left too early to get breakfast at the hotel.

What an incredible stay at Holiday Inn Resort Nusa Dua! The service provided was impeccable, starting off with an upgrade to an ocean view room when our pool view room was undergoing maintenance upon our arrival, followed by complimentary fruit and chocolates as another apology, along with a chocolate cake and bed decorations for our anniversary. All staff members were so friendly, helpful and approachable throughout the whole week of our stay. Also nice to see that feedback forms are actually acknowledged and acted upon very promptly (unlike other places) as we made a simple suggestion for the breakfast to include avocado and hollandaise sauce and the next two days staff members offered us specially cooked eggs benedict with avocado. Cannot fault a single thing about our experience and without a doubt will be back to stay in the future! Special mention to duty manager Geksa who frequently checked in with us and went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable!

Movenpick is a beautiful hotel and was our final stop on our two-week stay between Bali and Lombok. We were initially booked into the wrong room (twin, not double) but this was sorted immediately. Good selection at the breakfast buffet but I do think the hotel is missing a trick by not cooking fresh crepes for guests. All the little touches made the stay great. We were a bit let down that service was slow and it was a struggle to find two sun loungers, even when we were up early. For guests staying in the hotel after check out before getting picked up, the hotel provides a room to shower in. This can be booked at reception and is cleaned between uses. All in all, a lovely stay.
