Hot Springs Hotels in Hainan, China

Before the trip, I saw quite a few negative reviews about this hotel—complaints about damp, musty rooms, lots of mosquitoes, and cold, slow front desk service. To be honest, I was pretty nervous and was mentally prepared to just make do for one night. But our stay turned out to be a complete reversal, all thanks to the fantastic service from Song Yifan! During check-in, he proactively asked about our preferences. Upon hearing our concerns about humidity and mosquitoes, he immediately arranged a room on a higher floor for us, patiently gave us tips on dehumidifying and airing out the room, and thoroughly introduced the hotel's amenities, breakfast hours, and hot spring opening times. Other staff members also greeted us with warm smiles whenever we ran into them. I'd also like to recommend the hotel's Chinese restaurant—the food overall was great, and the chef at the evening BBQ was especially warm and hospitable, leaving a wonderful impression. In all fairness, the lakeside setting is lovely and relaxing. Both the lake views and the garden hot springs offer a true vacation vibe. While the facilities aren't brand new, they are clean and well-kept. Great service is truly the soul of a resort hotel. This stay far exceeded our expectations, and I'm writing this specifically to give a shout-out to Song Yifan. For anyone who is on the fence: having such reliable staff really makes all the difference in your stay.

The service was incredibly warm and proactive, everyone we met was! The facilities are what you'd expect from an older resort; though a bit dated, everything you need is there and in good condition. We didn't encounter any issues with mosquitos either. The pool is a real highlight, and it's open for extended hours. The stream and rainforest offer plenty of areas to explore and are very picturesque. We noticed they provided a toothbrush for our little one, which was a thoughtful touch. The Chinese restaurant serves smaller portions but the food is delicious, though the restaurant reception staff seemed a bit less proactive, possibly due to fewer guests. Overall, it met our expectations and we recommend it! Our room had direct access to the pool from the balcony, and there were banana trees right outside our door – we even saw real bananas!

The room is quite spacious, and the balcony even has a dedicated drying rack, making it very suitable for families with children, both young and old. The swimming pool and hot springs are great, and there's also a small playground for kids. The hotel's dining options are decent, and the overall environment and hygiene are good. They even thoughtfully delivered sweet soup in the evening.

The hotel is definitely quite dated. Even though I specifically asked the butler for a higher floor, there was still a noticeable musty smell—which is somewhat understandable for a seaside property—and the room looked worn out. On the plus side, the soundproofing was decent, so I actually slept pretty well during my stay. My biggest complaint was the concierge service. When we arrived, there was no one at the entrance to help us. I could overlook it since it was the busy National Day holiday, but I checked out on October 8th when the crowd had already cleared. There were no other guests checking out at the same time. We had a kid with us, carrying tons of bags and dragging suitcases toward our car. Three staff members saw us coming out: one grabbed a couple of car sunshades, and the other two just followed along, chatting and laughing as they quickly walked away. They clearly pretended to be busy just to avoid giving us a hand, which was really disappointing and hard to understand. 😔 On another note, the dinner buffet was alright—infinitely better than the one at the Sheraton Haitang Bay (which is hands down the worst buffet in the world). The Chinese restaurant was delicious, and I especially loved the fried rice (though that might have been partly because I was starving that day).

The hotel's overall hardware facilities truly live up to its five-star standards—grand in environment with comprehensive amenities, and the service maintains the consistent quality of the Hilton brand. As a hot spring-themed hotel, the soaking experience is top-notch, and the resort vibe is spot on~ ⚠️ Check-in & Stay Tips to Avoid Pitfalls However, having stayed here during the National Day golden week, I'd like to share a few genuine thoughts: 1️⃣ Allow extra time for check-in: It was exceptionally busy during the holiday. After finishing the paperwork, it took nearly an hour before our room was ready. I’d recommend staggering your check-in time or communicating your arrival time in advance. 2️⃣ Room location to avoid: We were assigned the very last room at the end of the hallway on the ground floor. While the long walk wasn't a huge deal, lying in bed made it painfully obvious to notice the low-frequency vibration noise from outdoor equipment, which really took a toll on sleep quality 😴 I suggest proactively asking at the front desk if you can be assigned a room away from the mechanical rooms. 3️⃣ Hot spring experience: The soaking experience itself is great, seeing as this is the hotel's main highlight. I recommend setting aside plenty of time to fully unwind and enjoy it. Despite a few minor hiccups with the check-in process and room location this time around, the hotel's hardware quality and hot spring experience are still well worth recognizing. If you visit outside of peak season and manage to snag a good room, the overall resort experience should be much better~ Just remember to make room location a top priority when you go!

The Pullman Haikou was one of the most comfortable hotels we stayed at during our Hainan trip. The room was spacious, clean, and free from any damp or musty smells. We even got to see the dragon boat teams pass by during the National Day celebrations. The breakfast spread was fantastic, offering a great variety including Hainan noodles, Qingbuliang (a refreshing herbal drink), and even cucumber juice, which was a first for me at a hotel breakfast. The hotel staff were incredibly attentive and had excellent service attitudes, always ready to help with anything we needed. We'll definitely choose the Pullman Haikou again on our next visit.

This hotel truly exceeded my expectations, in a really big way! While the facilities might be a bit older, leaning towards a 10-year-old style, I personally love that grand, prosperous feeling from that era. A special shout-out to the staff at the Haikou Guest House – they are incredibly enthusiastic. This morning at breakfast, I casually mentioned that it would be even better if they had coconuts. By the time I finished breakfast and went upstairs, they actually delivered a fresh coconut to my room! That was such a delightful surprise! 💕 I've stayed in many luxury and even ultra-luxury hotel brands across China, but I still think the Haikou Guest House is truly outstanding. If I ever get the chance to visit Haikou again, I will definitely stay here! 😁

Straight from the airport, I headed to the guesthouse, arriving late in the evening. The moment I walked in, I was captivated by the elegant and tasteful courtyard. As the first stop of my trip, staying near the Nanshan Temple scenic area offered a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle. The charming, staggered courtyards, adorned with flowers, birds, and lush greenery, along with a tea room and a pool, looked absolutely enchanting under the night lights. The staff were also very welcoming, and the room was incredibly comfortable with very soft bedding. Staying here was simply a delight.

We went in mid June, rainy season so it was low season. For the price that we paid for the 2 bedroom villa, which included breakfast (at another hotel) entry to ocean park, The Five Country Hot Spring City, and personal shuttle bus service within the island. I think it was well worth it. Service was prompt and courteous, although communication was all through WeChat and in Chinese. Convenient but knowing sone Chinese would be better to utilize services . We stayed in the Japanese style villa, and it was tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. We especially loved having our own dry and steam sauna, and our own personal outdoor hot spring bath! Real hot spring mineral water! I recommend this place especially for people who love hot spring baths and want to avoid busy touristy hotels. Cleanliness: overall quite clean. Location: walking distance to ocean park and hot spring city, so quite convenient. 5-10 minutes shuttle ride to most places within the island. Service: knowing someone is available 24 hours was nice. They were eager to help with whatever we needed. The main concierge during the day was more friendly, competent and experienced. Amenities: everything we needed was provided. There was a Dyson hair dryer, fridge etc. If you are picky about your shampoo soaps etc, you may want to bring your own. But they do provide them.

My recent stay at this five-star hotel far exceeded my expectations. The location is excellent, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. The front desk staff were very efficient with check-in and check-out, and they were all incredibly warm and helpful, promptly addressing any requests. The room was spacious and clean, with soft and comfortable bedding. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a very peaceful night's sleep. The breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh food. Overall, it's great value for money and perfectly suited for both business trips and leisure vacations. Highly recommended!
