ayinzhuonaHainan's second stop was Qixianling, and Junlan Hotel seemed to be the most well-known in the area. It certainly didn't disappoint.
The rooms are spread across small villas, with four separate units (up, down, left, right) in each, offering great privacy. Outside the window is a dense rainforest, providing a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Each unit has its own private hot spring pool and a small balcony. The rooms are spacious, perfect for kids to run around.
Unlike Atlantis, which is all about excitement, this place offers a different kind of relaxed retreat.
The rooms are definitely a bit dated, but they have everything you need, and the cleaning staff is very meticulous.
The restaurant food is delicious, with some specialty dishes that are a must-try!
The hotel has various hot spring pools and swimming pools. If you have enough time, try them all out; they're open quite late.
I want to especially commend the hotel's entire service system. From the greeters to the lobby, the restaurant, the shuttle drivers, and the pool security â everyone was incredibly warm and polite. Since the hotel is quite large, and the accommodations are spread out and deep within the rainforest, shuttle services are available throughout the hotel. You can book ahead or simply flag one down. This was a lifesaver for me, traveling with a child. I could explore freely on foot or easily catch a ride without my child complaining about walking too much.
Finally, a few tips for future guests considering Junlan: don't bother bringing big and small bottles of mosquito repellent; the hotel provides it for free (though even drenched in repellent, mosquitoes won't spare any new guest! It's a special 'gift' from the tropical rainforest!). If you plan to hike in the National Forest Park from the hotel, getting a taxi might be difficult. The hotel front desk can arrange for a scenic shuttle to pick you up for 20 yuan per person, which I think is well worth it. While there are public buses outside, I couldn't figure them out and didn't want to walk to the bus stop. When traveling with a child, it's best to minimize hassle. If something can be taken care of for 20 yuan, don't try to save that little bit!

RainbowYe2025The hotel environment is very comfortable, with many family-friendly facilities. Kids can have a blast at the water park, squirrel park, and volcanic hot springs. The breakfast offers a wide variety of choices. Manager Yin at the front desk also thoughtfully upgraded our room and gave us complimentary fruit. It was a great experience, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Haikou.

The hotel environment is great, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service is warm and attentive. We had a wonderful stay these past few days, it's very suitable for families. The overall experience was excellent, and our butler Joan was very nice, even bringing us small desserts. The hotel is right by the beach, so you can also take the kids to dig in the sand and play in the water~

Guest UserThere was practically no service. The staff were so busy they barely had time to listen to you. I had to ask several times for toiletries for my child before they were sent. Laundry costs extra, and the room only comes with two bottles of water. You have to ask the staff for more once you've finished those. There were no fruits or anything, and the fridge was completely empty. I have no idea where the 'welcome fruits' mentioned in other reviews came from. There were no disposable toilet seat covers either. In short, there were zero extra amenities in the room. It felt so stingy. It's an older hotel, so the facilities are dated, but I thought the service would make up for it. However, the service was also lacking. The activities offered by the hotel were quite dull and lacked atmosphere. The location is remote, making it inconvenient to get anywhere, especially for guests without a car. Taking a taxi to nearby places would cost at least 100 RMB daily. A round trip to Boundary Island would be around 250-260 RMB by taxi, and a round trip to Xincun Night Market would be about 100 RMB. I'd advise families traveling without a car to avoid such a remote location. If the service were excellent despite the remote location, it might be acceptable, but that wasn't the case. For a hotel costing over 1000 RMB, I'd say the hotel environment accounts for 1000 RMB, and the breakfast was a bonus. All in all, I won't be coming back.

After a week in Haikou, the most memorable spots were Qilou Old Street, Huacai, and the South Gate of Hainan University. Our stay was incredibly comfortable. We chose the Pullman Haikou for its full sea-view suite with a large balcony. The front desk staff, Joan, noticed we preferred a quiet room and proactively arranged a higher, quieter floor for us. She also added us on WeChat to provide timely updates, important information, and details about exclusive benefits. Any requests we had during our stay were promptly handled. It was a fantastic experience, and we're very grateful. The two young ladies at the executive lounge also provided excellent service.

The hotel is a bit old, and you can smell a musty odor when you enter the room. However, the hotel staff were excellent! They proactively offered children's toiletries and even brought complimentary fruit to the room upon check-in. On our departure day, one of the kids didn't eat much breakfast, so they spontaneously offered a takeaway box and even gave us two large yogurts! The service truly is fantastic! I would definitely book Guobin Hotel again if it's in the same price range next time.

RuinuoNAStraight from the airport, I headed to the guesthouse, arriving late in the evening. The moment I walked in, I was captivated by the elegant and tasteful courtyard.
As the first stop of my trip, staying near the Nanshan Temple scenic area offered a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle. The charming, staggered courtyards, adorned with flowers, birds, and lush greenery, along with a tea room and a pool, looked absolutely enchanting under the night lights.
The staff were also very welcoming, and the room was incredibly comfortable with very soft bedding. Staying here was simply a delight.

We went in mid June, rainy season so it was low season. For the price that we paid for the 2 bedroom villa, which included breakfast (at another hotel) entry to ocean park, The Five Country Hot Spring City, and personal shuttle bus service within the island. I think it was well worth it. Service was prompt and courteous, although communication was all through WeChat and in Chinese. Convenient but knowing sone Chinese would be better to utilize services . We stayed in the Japanese style villa, and it was tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. We especially loved having our own dry and steam sauna, and our own personal outdoor hot spring bath! Real hot spring mineral water! I recommend this place especially for people who love hot spring baths and want to avoid busy touristy hotels.
Cleanliness: overall quite clean.
Location: walking distance to ocean park and hot spring city, so quite convenient. 5-10 minutes shuttle ride to most places within the island.
Service: knowing someone is available 24 hours was nice. They were eager to help with whatever we needed. The main concierge during the day was more friendly, competent and experienced.
Amenities: everything we needed was provided. There was a Dyson hair dryer, fridge etc. If you are picky about your shampoo soaps etc, you may want to bring your own. But they do provide them.

The surrounding amenities are great, but it's very crowded. The shuttle service was terrible; the driver left without waiting for us, and didn't stop even when we chased after it. It was very sunny and hot, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're traveling with kids, unless you pay for their private car service. This felt like a hidden cost. We paid over 2000 for two rooms that day, which isn't cheap at all. The shuttle service from the hotel to the Ocean Park was very bad. The bus was packed, and my child even went missing, which led to us calling the police. This shuttle service has serious safety issues. For breakfast, there were too many people and not enough tables, so we had to wait a long time. We had to find seats ourselves with our child. There weren't enough staff, and the staggered timing for meals didn't work well. In short, it was a terrible and expensive trip. The staff themselves were very kind and helpful, but every single aspect of the experience made me feel like I was about to explode. I don't know why. It was completely different from our stay at Hilton last year. The room cleanliness wasn't great, probably because it was peak season and they didn't have time to clean thoroughly!

Guest UserThis DoubleTree by Hilton seriously needs to improve its service. I also hope Ctrip can accurately reflect genuine reviews so consumers can choose hotels that suit their preferences.
1. **Parking Garage**: The signage and lighting in the underground parking garage are very dim. The entire elevator and stairwell area is hot, and there are black steps, making it dangerous to navigate with luggage. Furthermore, both EV charging stations are in terrible condition. The Nio charging area, operated by a third party, is full of clutter and trash. One charging pile even has its QR code scratched off, yet electric buses can just plug and charge. The other charging station is right next to the lobby entrance, almost entirely occupied by gas-powered cars. I'd like to know what the point of installing that boom barrier is.
2. **Poor Service**: There was a long queue for check-in with only two counters open. Management stood in the lobby, neither helping guests with luggage nor offering any alternative solutions to the check-in line problem.
3. **Breakfast Chaos**: The hotel breakfast felt like a scramble in a wet market. In the rice noodle area, everyone was rushing and grabbing, making it impossible to order according to guest preferences. There were no queue numbers, just total disarray. Many ingredients were either missing or not refilled, and everything was bland. This paid breakfast is definitely not worth it.
4. **Faulty Delivery Robots**: The hotel's delivery robots were frequently unavailable or malfunctioning, getting stuck in guest room elevators, unable to move in or out. Clearly, there are issues with their programming and compatibility with the elevator system.
5. **Subpar Room & Facilities**: The garden view from the 2nd-floor rooms was really poor, just a layer of artificial grass on the rooftop. The room facilities were very old, the sliding door wouldn't close properly, and the wear and tear on the charging sockets indicated that room maintenance is still lacking.
6. **Disappointing Cinema**: The hotel's cinema is small, and the staff's attitude was very mediocre. Yet, movie tickets cost twice as much as outside, regardless of whether you're a hotel guest.
7. **Only Consolation - Pool**: The only silver lining was the hotel's swimming pool; the water quality and service there were generally good.
8. **New Front Office Manager**: The newly appointed Front Office Manager is excellent. I hope the hotel can improve based on these issues to gain more guest recognition. Hardware is one aspect, but software (service) is where continuous improvement can truly be made.
