My stay was initially quite pleasant. The front-line staff were consistently warm, attentive, and thoughtful throughout. When a small issue arose with our travel photos, the hotel promptly communicated and resolved it, which I appreciated. I thought I was going to have a wonderful experience, but it was completely ruined by one utterly unprofessional staff member, plummeting my satisfaction! While riding the shuttle bus, we politely asked the shuttle driver about the hotel's attractions and photo spots. The driver was halfway through explaining when another person nearby suddenly interjected and answered for him! Her attitude was extremely rude, cold, and dismissive. She was sarcastic the entire time, even accusing us of not speaking clearly. We were just asking basic, straightforward questions about attractions, and I truly don't understand how we could have possibly expressed ourselves more 'clearly'. When we politely asked about photo spots, she flat-out said there weren't any, and was incredibly impatient. Yet, later we saw clear signs for photo spots all over the hotel. We got zero useful information, only a belly full of frustration and anger! Afterward, the hotel told us this person was a 'secondary employee' and wasn't on duty, which is why she wasn't wearing an ID badge. I completely reject this flimsy explanation! Why was she wearing a uniform, riding a guest shuttle, and casually interjecting to address guests if she wasn't on duty? It's one thing to be unfamiliar with hotel operations and lack service awareness, but she didn't even have basic human decency. She seemed to be working with a chip on her shoulder, acting condescendingly, as if we, the guests, were accommodating her bad mood! In stark contrast, all the other shuttle drivers were kind, friendly, patient, and enthusiastic, creating an incredibly jarring difference! The hotel's reputation, carefully built by its front-line staff, was completely destroyed by this 'secondary employee' who showed no rules, no professionalism, and no respect. The hotel merely offered a casual explanation of her identity without any indication of intending to improve. Such tolerance for employee misconduct is truly disheartening. I will never recommend this hotel, nor will I ever stay here again!

This is a really comfortable hotel. Every time I visit Haikou, I make sure to stay here for a night. The main reason is their amazing 830-meter deep hot spring directly in the rooms – a soak there just melts away all the fatigue. The rooms are spacious and bright. Plus, the hotel is very close to the Qilou Old Street, just a short taxi ride (minimum fare). There's even an airport shuttle nearby. It's truly great.

Not great value for money, and the overall experience was pretty mediocre. The fact that the island was reclaimed from the sea, and the various buildings on it, are quite astonishing, but it's a real shame how many areas are neglected and falling into disuse. With over 5,000 rooms, the hotel had a high occupancy rate during the holiday, making the lobby feel like a chaotic market, packed with people and incredibly noisy. There were significant delays for check-in, and breakfast was practically a free-for-all, with extremely poor food quality. Room cleanliness was terrible; there were scratches all over the walls, and the bed runner was damaged and still had dried food crumbs from the previous guest on it – makes you wonder how long it hadn't been washed. The room itself was tiny, and when I asked for an extra pillow, I was told they didn't have any. We were a family of one adult and two children, both around six years old, but were told we had to purchase an additional child's breakfast, as two small children couldn't count as one adult. For nearly 600 RMB a night, with nothing included, it really wasn't worth it.

My stay was very pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable, and all the facilities were complete and worked well. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes and was well-balanced, a true delight for the taste buds. Our housekeeper, Julia, was friendly and responded to our requests quickly and efficiently. Consumables and any other items we needed in the room were replenished as requested. Her service was truly professional.

To be honest, it wasn't perfect, but the several positive experiences I had with the front desk and concierge service left a great impression, so I'm giving it a high rating. **Pros:** Clearly, the hotel's environment and dining are good. During the off-season, the value for money is excellent. The concierges were always very proactive and friendly (every single one of them), even helping with luggage and escorting guests to their rooms. The front desk was also great; they helped mail a lost item back to Shenzhen for me. Being close to the sea was convenient, although the view was just average. The lobby is very clean and beautiful, and it's clear they've put effort into maintaining it. **Cons:** Although my room was upgraded to the best floor, there was a decades-old musty smell coming from the carpet. Closing the balcony door would immediately make me dizzy. The outdoor pool was very dirty, filled with trash and various dead things. It's the dirtiest outdoor pool I've ever seen at a hotel, at least visibly so. The breakfast chefs and the pool lifeguards largely lacked service awareness. Especially the lifeguard: he didn't say anything when two adults repeatedly washed their slippers in the children's pool, but as soon as a child accidentally stepped into the pool, he immediately jumped out and yelled. Foreigners always had towels delivered to them by the pool, but Chinese guests had to walk a long way to the front desk to get one. If you don't speak a foreign language to explain yourself, then learn it. Otherwise, I think you've been kneeling for so long you can't stand up. And the children's play area – I've never seen one so dirty and messy. I wouldn't have known it was a hotel; I would have thought it was a defunct institution that hadn't had time to move out.

The lobby and other public areas are grand and comfortable, and the cleanliness is excellent. Family Activities: 1. Free rental of sand digging tools brought much joy to the children. A 5-10 minute walk leads to a private, fine sand beach and an endless ocean. 2. The dedicated children's pool is thoughtfully designed with depths of 0.3m and 0.5m, allowing toddlers to play freely. The water quality is good, and there's a daily record of water quality and temperature checks. Life jackets are plentiful, with staff members at almost every corner. A particularly nice touch is that the shared towels are warm from being dried, making them feel very clean. 3. The organized family activities are well-planned and engaging, with staff members actively guiding the children. Pros: 1. The rooms are spacious, and you can enjoy sea views right from the balcony. 2. The staff at the front desk, concierge, restaurant, and recreation center are enthusiastic and responsible. 3. The Marriott star standards are consistently met, from the lighting to the lawns and pool setups, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Cons: 1. The room facilities are old and emit a strong, musty smell. 📞 After providing feedback, I was initially told, 'This is normal for a seaside city,' as if I should just accept it. 📞 After clearly stating that I couldn't accept it, a dehumidifier was brought to the room ['improvement measure offered']. 📞 After contacting the butler, an effective solution was provided immediately: we were moved to a room with a relatively more comfortable smell. 2. In both the original and replacement rooms, the doors were heavy and lacked magnetic catches, making them difficult to hold open or close easily. 3. The cleanliness of the public areas outside the rooms was quite poor. Dining: The buffet breakfast offers a wide variety, with each dish having a unique flavor. There were Cantonese favorites like rice rolls, Mexican-style grilled meats, carefully prepared congee and dim sum, and a diverse selection of noodles. The highlight was definitely the wide array of Western pastries. Overall: This is a child-friendly hotel that's great for family vacations and relaxation. However, if you are sensitive to smells or suffer from rhinitis, there is significant room for improvement regarding the room odors.

Very satisfied! The hotel facilities are excellent, and it's conveniently located for getting around. There are great dining options downstairs, and the hot spring water is incredibly soothing, leaving my skin feeling silky smooth after a bath. The service attitude was also fantastic; the front desk lady was so enthusiastic and proactively provided me with many maps and locations for sightseeing. She was great, repeatedly emphasizing that if I encountered any inconvenience, I should let them know immediately so they could help resolve it. I'm so grateful and truly felt the warm hospitality of the Hainan people. If I get the chance to visit Haikou again, I'll definitely stay here and recommend it to my friends.

Location, Cleanliness, Facilities: The location on the west coast is quite convenient. The room's cleanliness is good, and the facilities are complete, including a kids' play area. The concierge and security proactively offered to help with our luggage and asked if we needed butler service. Highlights: Both the room and the lobby have information brochures about the hotel's facilities and nearby tourist services. Upon check-in, the front desk also provided a detailed information sheet, which helped reduce guest anxiety and waiting time by having so much information readily available. In the evening, the lobby bar even had live music, creating a great atmosphere. There aren't many resort-style hotels like this in Haikou, which is a big plus! 👍 Minor incident: During check-in, the front desk mentioned they'd send welcome fruit. My child overheard it and kept asking that evening why it hadn't arrived. I didn't think much of it at the time, so I didn't follow up.

This time I went to Boao and stayed at Dongyu Island Hotel for 2 nights and Yalun for 1 night. Although Dongyu Island was 200 cheaper than Yalun, the experience was very good. On the first day, I added a housekeeper ”Nancy” and consulted her on many things. Secondly, both the doorman and the concierge are very polite and enthusiastic, which is different from the Asia Hotel (which is cold and has a bad attitude). The environment is very quiet and the equipment is new! Strongly recommend

We stayed at this resort for 4 nights at the beginning of May while my kids (ages 9 and 11) were on school break. They loved it. They really enjoyed the pool, the springs and the breakfast and dinner buffets. The sushi restaurant is also good. The kids liked the slides and obstacle course in the pool area. There are so many springs here, with varying temperatures so you can choose to soak in cold ones or hot ones. And they are broken into regions (Asia, Europe, America, Africa). The service we received was great. Everyone was very helpful. Jordon in particular was very clear in communicating with me about what was included with our booking and how to access those items. There were a lot of other families at the resort since it was a holiday time but it was not too crowded. Would definitely recommend it to others. Close by is Mission Hills Centreville (retail shopping area), Feng Xiaogang Movie Town (featuring recreated old Chinese movie sets) and Splash City (a large water park). The picture is the view from our room.

GGuest UserFacilities: The hot spring is definitely the biggest highlight here, and the pool is great too. Service: The service was very warm and friendly, up to Hilton's usual standards. They even upgraded our room for free. Cleanliness: Nothing to complain about, also up to Hilton standards. Environment: The view from the window of the rainforest and pool was quite nice. However, the view from the corridor window was of some small houses, which was a minor drawback.

LLeonard HanekomThis was by far the best stay I’ve ever had in Haikou. First, the staff were absolutely amazing. I messaged the day before to ask if there was a cake shop nearby, since it was my wife’s birthday. When we arrived at the hotel, they not only provided a cake for us free of charge, but also upgraded our room to a top-floor sea view room—completely complimentary. The room itself was spotless and beautiful. The swimming pool was a short walk from the hotel, but very nice, and the hot springs and fish spa were truly relaxing. We also tried the buffet for just 198 RMB per person, and it was well worth it. The food was excellent—the sashimi was fresh, beer and wine were included, and the variety was broad. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall, this was an amazing experience, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Haikou.

AAnnieWe went in mid June, rainy season so it was low season. For the price that we paid for the 2 bedroom villa, which included breakfast (at another hotel) entry to ocean park, The Five Country Hot Spring City, and personal shuttle bus service within the island. I think it was well worth it. Service was prompt and courteous, although communication was all through WeChat and in Chinese. Convenient but knowing sone Chinese would be better to utilize services . We stayed in the Japanese style villa, and it was tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. We especially loved having our own dry and steam sauna, and our own personal outdoor hot spring bath! Real hot spring mineral water! I recommend this place especially for people who love hot spring baths and want to avoid busy touristy hotels. Cleanliness: overall quite clean. Location: walking distance to ocean park and hot spring city, so quite convenient. 5-10 minutes shuttle ride to most places within the island. Service: knowing someone is available 24 hours was nice. They were eager to help with whatever we needed. The main concierge during the day was more friendly, competent and experienced. Amenities: everything we needed was provided. There was a Dyson hair dryer, fridge etc. If you are picky about your shampoo soaps etc, you may want to bring your own. But they do provide them.

HHdrinkscoffeeThe cleanliness overall is good, but you can see signs of wear and tear. The cushion was a little bit stained, and the cupboard door has some aging/affected by moisture. It is still acceptable for now. The overall amenities are great, pool, outdoor hot springs and food available. If you don’t have a car, it is not easy to get out to eat but there are 2-3 restaurants in the resort itself. The beds are comfortable. My only complain is that the aircon was quite weak and could have been better. It was not warm but not cold in the room, and we had ensured the balcony door was closed.

GGuest UserAI recently stayed at Nanshan Temple Muyin, Qinghuandu Rainforest View Hotel, and overall, it was a very peaceful and enjoyable experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with all amenities in excellent condition, which made my stay truly relaxing. The service was excellent. The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable. A great example of this was when I tried to work out at the gym, which is located outdoors and had flooring that wasn’t ideal. The staff noticed me exercising and promptly offered an exercise mat so that my clothes would not get dirty. This thoughtful gesture left a positive impression. The hotel facilities were generally good, and the serene environment around the property added to the experience. The food was okay—not bad, but nothing particularly outstanding. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall comfort of my stay. In summary, Nanshan Temple Muyin, Qinghuandu Rainforest View Hotel is a great choice for those looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent service and comfortable rooms, even if the dining experience could be improved slightly.
