Great location, grater price! I was in need a shirt term living situation and these fine folks were very accommodating. 20 minutes on foot to The Alamo.

Wonderful staff. I have stayed here for about a week and I believe their rates are very reasonable. There is a safe gas station and ihop within walking distance with it being a relatively quiet area with much to do around. The staff made me laugh each morning, and assisted me with each question and thing that I need right away. Specifically Kash, Verocina, and Blake! They are wonderful and I plan to stay at this location again.

Staying at the Hometown Studios at Dallas, Mesquite under the Westgate banner was a huge disappointment. I needed a place to stay temporarily until my home got ready for me to move in. My family booked me a HomeTown suite under the Westgate properties timeshare. The Westgate name alone, stands for itself. You expect quality service, a squeaky clean standard, and the usual great customer service that you normally receive at Westgate properties. That has not been the case here at Hometown Studios in Mesquite, Texas. The room seemed surface cleaned but not deep cleaned. Parts of the hardwood floor needed mopping and there was no broom or dustpan in the room. There also were no dishes, glasses, silverware, or pots and pans in the room.. It has been my experience, that this is the usual standard for a studio suite of rooms and or extended stay hotels. I guess it was okay that I was given a studio type apartment since I was only one person. I did have a full size refrigerator, microwave and a stove top burner to cook on. Only one of the burners worked, but on the first day neither of them came on and it wasn't until the third day that the front burner finally heated up and came on. Again there were no pots or skillets to cook with and when I inquired of them I was told that I would have to pay a surcharge for the use of cookware and dishes in my suite to prepare a meal. Not being informed of this upfront, meant that I had to eat out daily and be conservative about how I spent money on food. I expected to be able to cook daily I stead of eating out. Additionally, there was no iron, ironing board, hair dryer or coffee pot nor tea in the studio either. Again, when I inquired of these items, I was told that no iron no ironing board was available that the hotel did not offer them at all. I asked for two bottles of water as I had run out of mine own, did not feel comfortable going out into the neighborhood to purchase water at night. I was told that Hometown Suites did not have water to offer to their guests. When we booked this hotel I believe I understood the Westgate agent to tell us that this location was near downtown Dallas. I specifically asked to be in the Dallas area as this was an out of state move for me and being in the Dallas area would put me close to where I needed to conduct business. It was only when I began to physically navigate the drive here that I discovered the place was nowhere near Dallas but in Mesquite which is at least a 30-40 mins drive away from the Dallas area. There is high construction in this area and getting into the hotel means I have to navigate through broken up and dirt road entryways to get to the hotel. Upon arrival, the front desk personnel, gave me the opportunity to check out the room to see if I was comfortable with it before choosing to take it. The first unit I reviewed was on the first floor around the corner on the back side of the hotel. There was a bit of trash on the grounds outside, a

The equipment is very new, the sanitation is very good, it is close to the highway, the noise is a bit loud, but the sound insulation of the room is not bad. The sound of the air conditioner is also very small, so I slept well. It is relatively comfortable in a motel hotel. The location is very convenient. Not far from China Town and the city center. No napkins. There is a problem with the design of the bathroom room, with transparent glass and a mirror facing the bed. The quilt was very thin, so I asked the front desk for another bed. Breakfast is not considered breakfast. Ask the front desk, if there is no breakfast, it is just bagged cakes and fruits for customers. This price is relatively high cost performance.

I stayed here because I had a very early flight from the San Antonio airport. They scheduled a taxi for me at 4:30 AM, and the driver was waiting for me when I went down to the lobby. The room was clean, and everything worked. The staff was very helpful. There are no restaurants of any sort within walking distance. There are some sandwich vending machines in the hotel. I got an egg burrito from one of them, and it was edible. My suggestion to the management, though, is to extend the food choices.

First off, I felt unsafe and that my car might be vandalized. With the exception of checking out, I find the staff to be extraordinarily rude. Before you think I'm Karening, I came to check in at 2:15 (admittedly my fault for not knowing the time or that check in was at 3:00). After waiting about 5 minutes while two staff members argued in the back room, the woman came out and when I said I was there to check in, she angry-sarcastically asked ”Did someone tell you to come in here because check in is at 3. Is it 3? No, it's not”. When I asked if there was something close that I could do for 40 minutes she just said no. When I asked if there was a place nearby to eat she said no, but you can drive around to find something. When I opened my room, the smell hit me like a physical blow. I wish I could photograph a smell!!! The last person must have been there a long, long time (in guessing many months) and chain smoked in it the entire time. My asthma was instantly flared (didn't have my inhaler with me, which made it worse). I immediately went back and said the room is so smoky and she said she knew and that's why I didn't get charged a deposit but there were no other rooms. I immediately went to buy cleaning supplies and air fresheners. I spent hours washing down all surfaces and walls and floor. It never really made a dent in m how bad the room reeked. I put several air fresheners on the air unit to help more. It didn't. The room was filthy. Two of the three entry door locks were broken and the door jamb was broken, like someone had kicked the door in at one point. The outside of the refrigerator was beyond nasty. The back of the toilet didn't have the right lid. The mirror was not above the sink but to the side so you had to stand against the toilet to see yourself to get ready in the morning. The bathtub didn't hold water for a bath so I had to cut off part of a bread wrapper and hold it with my heel. The toilet paper holder was loose in the wall and the toilet paper fell off every time. The toilet paper roll was almost empty on my arrival (it had 9 squares left). I was there for 8 days and never once got new towels or wash cloth. One washcloth, one hand towel and one towel was all I ever had. They also never took the trash out. The groceries I put in the refrigerator on day one froze overnight, completely ruining two crispers full of salad, fruits and veggies. The bed was like sleeping on a board. It was difficult to even get comfortable enough to fall asleep and I was in extreme pain every morning when I woke up. The pillows were comfortable, but that's it. I'm pretty sure the bedding came from the Dollar Store (if so, they over paid). There were no hangers in the closet at all. There's also no dresser, just two shelves. There was a full kitchenette but no toaster, stove, silverware, plates, bowls or glasses. I had to go buy them all for my 8 day stay. I think the pictures tell a better story of this nightmare. Two words to sum up: RUN and HORRIBLE! I really don't even know where to start from. We booked this hotel at almost $80 a night but it was not worth even a penny. We pulled in late at night and there was a group of suspicious people right in front of the office. In fact there were a lot of shady people pretty much all around the property. I still held into my nerves and start looking for the office. Office was dark and the door was locked. One suspicious lady even told me to leave and that office is closed at night. I knew her information was not accurate and start looking for any signs for after hours check in. There was a small note on the front door to check in with the side window if the door is locked. I went to the side window and it was shut, locked and dark. There was a ringer outside on a broken dented wall and was not working. Of course by this time I had a lot of attention from unwanted people just hanging and walking within the property. I knocked on the window for sometime before finally somebody turned the lights on from inside and open the window. My room was on the third floor and with small kids and bags it was a huge hassle to take stairs. I was told that elevator was not working and when I looked at the elevator I knew why. It looked like somebody blew it up as it was literally ripped apart. The whole hotel was dirty and filthy as there were trash everywhere and all over. We went to our room and it was barely livable. Walls had dent, hole, and water leak markings. Refrigerator was dirty as hell and the floor was sticky as honey. Stove and its knobs were all broken and I was so afraid to even touch it to avoid any possible gas leak disaster. Restroom was extremely small and literally had a kid size broken sink. Bathroom was small and only had a one small soap. There was no shampoo or conditioner. Only two towels were provided for the entire family size room. Both towels had stains and were dirty. Air condition worked but was loud and noisy. I went downstairs to get more towels and after a lot of question and answer I was given some and even those had holes and stains! Of course they had no return/refund policy regardless of the reason so moving out after paying a hefty price was not an option for me. My entire stay was very uncomfortable and I didn't feel safe at all. Thank god that nothing happened to me or my car and I got out in 1 piece. This hotel needs a complete renovation from bottom up. First and foremost, security needs to be tightened up and they need to get rid of suspicious people. Wish I can give zero star!

The stay was really good and the house keeper was nice and respectful of your time and space. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to relax

So.. generally I don't really think twice when I check into a hotel but today I had to take notice of Andrea she was efficient attentive but most importantly effective. She went out of her way to turn my day around. Thanks Andrea for the great tip and insights on our way to save on a delicious lunch at a nearby venue! With my savings not even including my reading rewards discounts I just made book another night thanks red roof!

Was overall good trip, but one big complaint is they have church service on Sundays, and while I don't mind that part, I do mind being right next door room wise to the place when the subwoofer and people screaming wake up my kid. Noone informed us of this before hand and could only say sorry. Also the clerk at front desk js also only person to run the airport shuttle so if he's out and about good luck.

Since it is a motel at reasonable prices, I am surprised for comfort, cleaning and care of the rooms. Large and free parking. Educated and friendly staff. Finally USB takes on the comforts to load the smartphone. In a strategic position, I recommend it at 100 percent

Very reasonable and great service highly recommended. Kitchenette in the rooms they provide you with pots pans and utensils. Easy access to IH-35 and downtown. They are quick to take care of any issues that come up.
